Any recommendations?
I've looked at the Jabra BT8010 the hardest, but if you've tried something else and like them better, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

I know you're inquiring about their stereo headsets, but I just thought I'd issue a brand warning. I'm currently using a Jabra BT250v and I'm not too fond of it - I begin to get static if I'm more than 5-10 feet from my phone. They claim a range of 30 feet, but I've lost signal at 15.

For mono, I'm leaning toward the Plantronics Voyager 510. A friend of mine has one that he loves, and I really like the form factor.
It's small and light enough to wear for extended periods and I know he gets good range from it - he gets upstairs in his townhouse before it starts cutting out.
I might just go with that.
I went ahead and ordered a wired pair of headphones for music.
I got a Samsung Blackjack last week just because it was dirt cheap ($30), or fuck - free with a two year contract if you get it from Newegg, plus you get a 1 GB microSD and a free bluetooth headset - and no, I'm not affiliated. I'm rather pissed since I generally hit newegg at least once a day and didn't know about this deal until I had already dropped the cash on the one I'm carrying. But anyway.
On the media front - I'm seeing 2GB microSD chips for around $25 (with free shipping) on supermediastore.com.
Unfortunately, the Samsung phones have a proprietary plug for their data cable / charger / wired headsets, so you can't just go with a decent set of headphones. I ordered what I'm sure is going to be craptacular headphones for $10 just because of that interface problem.
If I figured out the pin-out and had a lot of time on my hands...never mind. I'll never actually do that.
I hope I don't end up with iPhone envy / regret. Worst case scenario, this Blackjack is a $30 mp3 player and I'll be able to use it as a modem with my laptop once I sign up for the 3G unlimited data plan. We're getting somewhere between 1-3 megabits down on the HSDPA network where I live.

By the way, that plantronics I mentioned is multipoint - meaning, you can pair it with two devices AT THE SAME TIME.
Meaning you could use it for Skype calls with your portable computer and as a headset with your phone conceivably switching back and forth automatically. I say conceivably because I've never tried it or seen it work, but it sounds great in theory.
From the product literature:
"With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset's smart technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. The 510 features a noise-canceling microphone for clearer conversations, and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear."

What void in your life will multi-tasking wireless bluetooth earplugs fill?

As a technician, it helps me to be able to be on the phone and have my hands free. As a driver, it is safer to keep both hands on the wheel. As a ... you know what? Fuck off!
Consumerism fills the void in my life that my inability to produce has created. Those who can't do, teach. Well, I've already been there, done that. My best friend keeps reminding me how smart and talented we are, and we're not kids any more, and WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING?
Lazy? Lack of focus and direction? No real passion? Jack of all trades, master of none? I can't decide whether to laugh or cry half the time. The other half I'm just vaguely confused.
Look take your snarky insights into my mental condition somewhere else, misguider. I've got Bluetooth issues over here and you're just muddying the waters.

You know....whatever you're making as a tech, you could make so much more as a writer. That kind of talent is a rare gift. I wish I had it.
On the topic - I've got at least one bluetooth issue of my own. Too much sugar as a kid and not enough brushing.

I love it when people miss the dynamic of Gracie and George, Bud and Lou, Johnnie and Ed, et al.
It's like a bizarro version of captain save-a-ho.
See you in Atlanta.
