I'm not sure which, if any, e-tailers carry our products. As I've said, we're new. But I'll find out and let you know. If we're not with any e-tailers at this point, we will be soon! Most of our products are available on both VHS and DVD. I don't think we're simultaneously releasing, but the DVD usually releases very shortly after the intitial VHS. At least, that's how I think it is.... what do I know, I'm the production guy.As soon as I know, I'll let everyone here know! You're welcome! It's good to be here!

Pontus,
I don't know how many other retailers have Smash Pictures, but XRentDVD in their studio list has Smash Pictures, and a few of their titles.

if you do an advanced price search and search under studio for smash pictures titles you'll see all the stores that carry their titles (who participate in our price search.) or just click my link.
we're probably missing a couple titles, but there are many stores carrying the ones we have listed.
FWIW, I have watched a couple of these. They do feature some nice European women, and I agree that they are nicely shot in terms of lighting and location, but I thought shot selection was only average at best. Also, I found the purely musical soundtrack disconcerting.

Could somebody tell me how many studios are listed in this thread. There are 264 studios/producing companies listed in my database and 275 distribution companies (some of which are the same as the producing companies). I would like some figures to compare with my data.
Great topic astroknight. My knowledge of the adult industry is generally limited to the more "mainstream" studios (Vivid, Wicked, etc) but I'm learning.
However, I do have a fine collection of adult anime titles and I do have to correct you on your anime list. You have "Kitten" listed as an anime studio, but I believe you mean Kitty, even if some places (I know xrent does) may list Kitty titles under Media Blasters. And, Kitty is generally less respected in anime circles than Central Park Studios, which is far and away the best adult anime studio. Nu-Tech is also worth checking out, if only for the care they are recently putting in their work.
Astro, your efforts in keeping us up to date regarding the studios and distributors are greatly appreciated and even at times a source for myself when researching shit. Great job, man.
I do want to offer some information about Devil's Films, however, because they do seem to go out of their way to keep a low profile. But their product lines are very successful. Some of them are:
Teen Tryouts Inner City all Black Cheerleader Search Gangland White Boy Gangland Stomp Transsexual Prostitutes Runaway Sluts Exposed
Devil's Films is owned by Mike Rubenstein, an excellent filmmaker and a former partner of both mine and Alex deRenzy's when we all owned Rosebud together.
His lines do well, and he holds his prices firm, which allows his producers to succeed at a level where most others don't. My son, "Nate Woodburn's" line, "...All Black Cheerleader Search" has been distributed through Devil's Films since it's beginning over six years ago.
Yes, the update will still be coming. I got hit with a pile of stuff at work, vacation, and other stuff. I'm also trying to do one big update soon rather two or three since I have a few DVDs from new studios that I want to add. It's coming, and hopefully it will be worth the wait! Sorry for taking so long!
The Big Ass Update is up! I apologize for taking so long, but the update kept growing on me and my free time just got smaller and smaller. Hopefully I didn't miss anybody!
Please add Dave Cummings Productions, which has three ongoing series; Sugardaddy, Vol 1-23; Sex Fun, Vol 1-9; and Knee Pad Nymphos, Vol 1-7. Generally of a pro-Am variety, older guy-younger girl is the niche focus. It's gonzo, with short set-ups and then quickly into the sex.
The list is very informative . My last DVD order is still in transit, but I made sure NOT to order from Leisure.
I plan to order some Euro-DVDs and Japanese DVDs in the future. Right now I need more data, while sticking to my formula. I don't want to flip the coin so to speak.
By the way, I had alot of trouble finding this site. I felt like the little bee girl (but I"m a guy) trying to find the other bees. Hey, it's a jungle out there.
Superb list Astro , lots of interesting information to be gleaned from it . If I might suggest a few additions ?
Colmax A french studio who recently celebrated their 20th anniversary . They specialize in releasing features which were not directed specifically for themselves . Their fairly impressive list of directors includes ; Andrew Blake , Mario Salieri ( contract now expired , so no new movies ) , Silvio Bandinelli , and Bruce Seven . The picture and sound quality is generally of a similar quality to Wicked although their extras are a little thinner on the ground ( generally just 3 to 6 trailers , although there's occasionally a bonus scene thrown in ) . A special note : it's worth mentioning that their discs do not tend to include an English language option , or any language options for that matter ( including subtitles ) . They also release some American features which have been take off the market in the US for legal reasons - eg Pretty Peaches .
Blue One Again they're French as near as I can make out and release some excellent classic French porn . The speciality of this company is multiple features on one disc , particularly of earlier releases . They have slightly lower picture quality than Wicked from what I've seen , though this could be down to the older source material that they use . There are no language options apparent and the default language is French , which could be seen as a problem by some . Extras range from barely worthy of the name ( some trailers ) to very impressive ( up to 4 bonus scenes , and no rubbish ) . My experience of this company is fairly limited so not all their releases might match this description . One of their releases is a tri-feature release of otherwise unavailable Tracey Lords films .
Marc Dorcel AKA Video Marc Dorcel Some of their best ( or at least most famous ) features are also licensed to Wicked for ( shared ? ) American distribution . However that still leaves a large catalogue of features ( some on film but large numbers on tape ) which are exclusively Dorcel . The picture and sound are on a par with Wicked and the sex is often more interesting . Their collection of noteworthy directors includes ; Marc Dorcel , Alain Payet , John B. Root , Mario Saliei ( recently added ) , and Michael Ricaud . The extras on these discs vary wildly from bare bones to pretty stacked , though they never seem to include commentaries and only rarely show behind the scenes footage . Language options differ from disc to disc as well and it may be best to check their website before ordering . They've started to heavily sell VMD versions of Hustler releases in the last few years .
Woah, hold on there man.... dead! I beg to differ. Admittedly we took a bit of time for reorganization post-indictment but now Extreme 2.0 is most definitely hitting it's stride again and are out to reclaim our rightful place at the top of the industry...
here... check out the previews for oral hygiene #4 and Taste That Ass! Taste That Ass
we just finished Oral Hygiene #5: Foot in Mouth Disease, and have started #6 and tuesday we are starting Extreme Teen #37 with Bianca Pureheart.... many other things lined up for the upcoming weeks.. but you will find those out when time warrants.
for now be sure to check out extreme-2.com, it is kept updated rather regularly now... it has been slack this past week though due to my adding every extreme movie ever to our new online catalog :D. but there are plenty of clips up on the free site as well... including stuff from ORal Hygiene #5, and Taste That Ass
Hey, Rob, have you ever worked for Elegant Angel? Are you Rob Black?
I saw some BBC documentary with some dude who was trying to get into porn (well, not for real but as a part of his documentary 'research'). Anyway, he was in Elegant Angel studio and this guy (Rob Black) was shooting "Forced Entry" at the time. I thought that was Extreme Assosciates title..
OK...so here is a new one...Black Widow Productions...they have produced a few titles, but their main claim to fame is that they have just signed an exclusive distribution deal for North America for John Thompsons GGG, JT and 666 lines from Germany. They plan their first release on 9/27/04 with two titles released per week. Black Widow has also struck a deal to have Private USA do the physical distribution of their products. As I understand it, they will use original GGG tapes sub-titled in English with the German advertising taken out. They are holding up on releasing any 666 titles until they see how the wind blows after November!

Here's a couple of studios that I want to add to the list. I haven't seen their work (yet), but I like what they're about and want to support them.
Innocent Pictures is a subsidiary of Denmark's Zentropa Productions, and the world's first and only mainstream studio producing hardcore adult films.
The goal of Innocent Pictures is to bridge the gap between mainstream and adult, by uniting all the best qualities associated with adult entertainment and mainstream filmmaking into one artistic, commercial and widely palatable package.
The Sex The sex should not be disturbing or harmful, but charming and attractive. Sex will not be combined with violence, the infliction of pain or physical harm. We will avoid sexual situations likely to encourage an interest in abusive sexual activity, any sexual activity which involves lack of consent, as well as any activity which is degrading or dehumanizing.
Two years in production, "All About Anna" is soon to be released, and marks the first time a mainstream actress has starred in an explicit adult film.
Inpulse Digital Inpulse TV's philosophy is to change the way Adult programming is viewed by women. We're creating a new genre of programming that reflects women's love of men. Our goal is to provide content from the woman's point-of-view while delivering on the expectations of the viewer. Our programming strategy is to exhibit the highest quality titles featuring the top male talent in Adult today. Content for the network is being produced in HDTV, making Inpulse TV one of the first providers of Adult programming to shoot and produce in this format.
The DVD of "Velvet Thrust" is currently in release with the next title "Erection Services" to follow.
I started working on another Big Ass Update today. Special thanks to Adult DVD Empire who's redesign and studio page is making it a lot easier, and because of that a heck of a lot more work! If there's anybody you see missing that you think I might miss again, please let me know here or drop me an e-mail with the information (and a note in the subject like "studio list" so I don't get rid of it in my mass spam purges). I'm hoping to have it finished and submitted this week, but we'll see how things go.

Astroknight - That's allot of great information!! I just want to let everyone know that in addition to our product (Interracial) and the product we distribute for other producers, we are going to be releasing our first all Black title March 1st - I'm very excited about it! So we are expanding our offers just a bit further!
Great job, Astro. This really is a fantastic resource, especially for people just getting into porn. One thing I noticed, is that Mayhem is evidently also hiring Alex Sanders to direct these days. ::groan::
One other tiny little stupid thing, is that I don't believe James Avalon is exclusive with Metro. He's also doing work for New Sensations and Sin City.
WOW! How cool. Thank you Astro for adding us to your list of studios. We'll have to get you some screeners so that you can take a look at some of the stuff we're doing.

I know I'm late... but thanks a lot for this great work, astroknight. It's very helpful. If only I knew of that list before I bought those Leisure Time, Fat Dog, Knock Out and Nymph movies... they must do something right when people who don't know about studios tend to buy their movies... unfortunately what they do right is not about the movies... Don't get me wrong, I didn't complain when I watched them because I thought porn is like that back then. There a still some scenes I like but they're quite rare.
Since I'm an ADT member I have bought movies by Elegant Angel (my favourite by now), Evil Angel, Digital Sin, Baby Doll (love it but maybe I'm biased) and Shot at Home, and it's really something different... (I won't complain about the Maverick compilation either because I got it for free).
Now whenever I want to buy a movie by a porn studio I don't know I'll check your list first. I hope many people will do this so some studios will be forced to improve.
My compliments on the research... also, I'm glad to see my company didn't get slammed given this site's dedication to ultra hard edge gonzo. I would say that I've released some very good stroke material, especially in my No Man's Land series, but I acknowledge that our consistency isn't what I would want it to be. Our direction has been all over the place, in many different niches. It's easier in one's first year, but after 17 years producing films at Video Team, it's hard to stay enthused. Thankfully, some of my newer directors have the fire.
I remain proud of our role in nurturing Van Styles. He's moved on to greener pastures, but I'm still happy for his success. Back at VT, we are about to unleash some new, decidedly different, bold lines that will surprise anyone who's been watching our company. Video Team is going to cease being a brand per se, and will instead be the company that releases, i.e. distributes several new brands. I will update you later. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to hide behind some stupid new name like "Hatred Productions" or "Death and Destruction Films" like so many of the new monikers that have been proliferating like weeds in Porn Valley.
My task now is to showcase good, sexually intense action that doesn't rely on mean-spirited imagery. My biggest turn-on is watching some girl fuck like an animal because she fuckin' loves it... not 'cause she's getting raped. I hope to achieve that ethic in our upcoming shows. Stay tuned.
