So apparently my wife likes erotic books.
I bought her "Christina's Touch" by Blakely St. James-she read it in one day lol.
So for the ladies who like erotic reading, I was hoping for some recommendations. Also-it can be completely graphic, she's not timid.

It's not fiction. But I'm a huge fan of Nancy Friday's collection of sex fantasies. Three of them, "My Secret Garden," "Forbidden Flowers" and "Women On Top" are full of hot reading. The topics run the gamut from plain vanilla and outrageous. There should be something (several things) to please anybody.
Men In Love is the same but male fantasies. I think women would find it enlightening, interesting, and hot as well.
The most recent one she wrote, I can't remember the name, is a weak entry.

Do you post them anywhere (like on the Internet or in books) or do you keep the stories to yourself?

I post things like my smutty fan fiction and at one time I wrote some personalized stories for friends that I knew on an intimate basis.
At one point a story was featured on a private site but she hasnt updated in years and now the archive doesnt work.
Literotica is a mess. You can find some gems there but they are usually buried under alot of crap. Since then I've not found a safe place to post that isn't a black hole of internet drama or a shit pile.
I found one the other day that I wrote a few years ago. I was thinking about revising it and polishing it up a bit but I've been kinda busy.
I was also goinf to add that bettersex.com usually has erotica contests and the winners are published in books as a collection of shorts. There is one called Afternoon Delight that's not bad.

Thanks for the info!
Were the stories you wrote all fiction or did you also write stories based on your experiences?
Also, do you remember the themes of the stories that you wrote for Literotica?

Bah... she knows too much to write good sex stories. I bet they are cram-packed with toy jargon and you need wikipedia to read them.

I should just google it but what the hell, I'm lazy, I am interested in the Original Kama Sutra Book that isn't written by Anne Hooper.

You might want to try The Image by 'Jean De Berg,' actually the wife of the French writer Robbe-Grillet writing under a pseudonym.
It was made into a great movie by Radley Metzger that just came out on blu-ray. Very S&M oriented though, so she'd have to like that, but it is pretty romantic as well.
The short stories of Anais Nin (Delta of Venus and Little Birds) would be a good choice as well although they often tread into some very taboo territory (incest, etc).

^ I second Nin. The history behind the writing of the stories (told in her diaries, but excerpted in the prefaces for the two story collections) is also really interesting and instructive when reading her work.
While it's not very pornographic, I think a lot of men and women would find Belle du Jour erotic simply because of the premise. It has also been made into two porn flicks: V: The Hot One and Belle du Jour starring jessica drake.
And as usual, I'll give Penthouse Letters a plug. I think they're utterly fantastic.

When I started writing erotica it was actually on a kind of bet.
This guy I was friends with was stationed in Iraq and their time is so far off from ours that sometimes really late at night he would catch me on and we'd chat.
We were talking one night about erotica and porn and he said something about not understanding how words could make people horny. I told him I said some people are more visual and need to see it and others can read and see it in their minds. So he kinda challenged me and I wrote this short fantasy leaving it very open to interpretation. For example I stuck with "he/she/him/her." No names or anything that really described the "characters." He was blown away and actually admitted he was wrong. I wrote another story about based on what I knew of his personality. It was called The Chief because he was a chief warrant officer and it was a military type fantasy story.
It kinda snowballed from there. I wrote him a few more stories. He was lonely, I knew that so I wrote stuff. No big deal.
THEN I wrote one for my friend in Colorado who is a dom. It was called Leather and Lace and it was about a brothel that she and I open. The basement was her dungeon of doom territory and the upstairs was my territory (think French whorehouse).
So yeah I use myself as a character sometimes. Even when I don't though, there is always a certain part of me included in the personality of my female characters.
The only one I ever posted was a short erotic romance about a woman that kept having dreams about herself and a man from the Civil War era named Kenton. Then Kenton moves in next door to her.
I never wrote anything for Literotica. For one thing they have way too many "rules" that do not make sense to me. Everything has to be approved before posting. You can't post multiple chapters for one story. Instead they posted one chapter at a time individually. So it may look like you have 50 stories but really it's 50 chapters of the same story. And if they approve everything, why is there such shitty grammer and spelling? I'm no grammar Nazi, hell my stories are bad enough, but damn. The way they break down the genres.....it's horrible.
The fan fiction I write is usually Star Trek TOS (Don't even get me started on This Ain't Star Trek XXX)and it's always for Scotty. I also write for The Patriot. So in those I try to address 18th century attitudes about sex and history. I publish all of that at fanfiction.net so they are more romantic smut. Nothing more than what you might read in a trashy grocery store romance. Even though people write some really dirty smut on there (TalesFromTheSpockSide, ejectingthecore and Djinn1 write some really hot stuff. Acontium-Napellus writes some good slash if you're into it.), most of the stories are tame compared to erotica.
Try her... http://cyan.protgp.com/main.html It's the only one of my old links that still works and if I'm not mistaken she had some pretty decent free stories.
Seedfeeder, you might need a link to Memory Alpha to figure out my Trek fics (and yes I adress sex in zero G) but they didnt have vibrators in the 18th century! :P

^Thanks for the info, ShopSexGrl! That was nice of you to send the military guy some erotic stories.
Plus, thanks for the link that still has your story! Do you remember the title of your story? I'm interested in reading it.

Like I said in an earlier post, my story is lost in cyberland somewhere. There was a really nice site that posted like one story of mine for a Valentines Day thing and now it's defunct. The lady that ran it got tired of it and stopped taking new submissions. That was years ago (like 2003?)and anyway now the archive doesn't work. My story is not On Cyan's site. Those are all her originals, I think.
I found one short story the other day that I had worked on before and never finished. I was thinking about revising it. It's one of those first time type stories.
When I do I'll let you know. But right now,I've just been working on a fan fic like crazy.

Erotic book? You mean with words instead of pics? Jesus f*ckin' Christ, why would anyone buy that? Oh right, it is for women. They are weird that way.

A lot of dudes like dirty books too, remember that the majority of pornographic literature was written for a male audience. We've had discussions on here about this before and I know many male posters enjoyed Penthouse Letters, etc.

Each to there own. All I have to say, is after wifey read the books I bought for her, our lovemaking shot through the roof. We now try to out pleasure each other. Her BJ technique, finding my hidden erogenous zones, and the way she now isn't afraid to intitiate sex have all improved.
Oh by the way, she bought me a stack of similar books including "How to "Make Love to a Women". I picked up a tip or two myself.

You know that there are youporn-tutorials for BJs (incredibly hot black chick nonchalantly teaching it), cunnilingus and just about anything else, right? A video is a much better medium to teach something that is also animated ;)
As for the books you bought the missus: That doesn't contradict my point! It supports it! Erotic books are good for chicks.
How exactly do they work for guys, though? Jacking off takes 5-15 minutes, depending on mood and time available. How many pages can you read in a couple of minutes? I assume it takes an hour before the cumshot. Just don't get it.

^Some people don't need visual or physical stimuli to get turned one. It's the fantasy of the story itself that turns them on. You make it sound like some kind of joke but it's a matter of what turns an individual or a couple on. What's it to you anyway? I say the same thing I tell everyone else like I do with porn. If you don't like them, don't read them. If you don't like porn, don't watch porn. But it's not cool to make someone feel stupid or ashamed just because they like something you don't. I mean, don't we have enough of that shit going on in our society?
Also Trout Bum, are you talking more about sex manuals or stories?
There are alot of great maunals out that give great ideas to use in bed.
I could list several but I think Seed was mainly looking for stories and sometimes those can be hard to find in print but there are tons on the net.

I'll second Jayo's advice - Men In Love and Women On Top are hot, filthy stuff. I recall being reassured that other folks had dirty imaginations too.
