Of course, I don't know her personally but from her interviews I deduct that Stoya doesn't really accept the type of sex which is portrayed in the modern pornography. She just have a different theory about sex and the industry that exploits it. Her point of view is very simple.Sex, no matter what form it has or how hard it looks, it is first of all enjoyment. It is a celebration of senses and it has to be pleasureful by all members who commit it, men and women, in front of lens or behind. That is why she doesn't like to pretend or perform. And this is what she tried to do when she founded TrenchcoatX. To demonstrate to the rest of the adult world, sex and eroticism in its purest form! There is an entire thread here for that, full of speculations and theories. Whatever happened though left her with many scars so I would focused on the implications which are very serious. I don't want to dramatize the case but as you can see for yourselves, the clues show that Stoya is going for permanent retirement and emergency exit. She doesn't want to have any relation with the industry and she is in a really bad state. Now, I think that is not only James her problem but the attitude of some of the adult viewers and insiders, who couldn't understand her and kept pressing her to do things she didn't accept. Now, I do admire this person a lot, not only as a woman, but as an entire personality and I just can't digest that such a happy, cheerful and beautiful girl succumbed to depression. The concept is there, the passion is there, the authenticity is there but they are all forgetting about the presentation (The god damned Photo-Mechanics). The number one reason people are still giving money for! I really think that Stoya could have a good chance as a director but she needs to hire a good photographer to teach her a couple of things or to work for her. The dp scene was ridicolous, all you can see are guys asshole, the problem is that she thinks she is good at directing but the truth is she is not. add bad lights, camera shacking, or out of focus. no pics/ photoset the best thing you can do is to keep watching her digital playground stuff. and the other videos are pretty lame too..... a lots of old Manuel ferrara titles....in 480p.....lots of dana vespoli old titles that you can easily get joining evilangel.com, old faye reagan/valentine videos, always in 480p. Kinda like Manuel's Raw series, but with much less POV and slightly worse framing. Oh, and because no one has said anything lately, she ended up not fully quitting. And despite starting off bad, the quality has deteriorated with every addition into the series. It started with a novel amateur routine (with pornstars) which I like if it was done right. But all the camera angles are off, and poor lighting...etc. I think she wanted to copy something like Manual's Raw series but failed horribly, and she can't admit it to herself. I mean in the latest episode the camera is like 20 m away from her and you can't make out anything, it may as well of been a rape scene, but who knows? You can't see much. It's dirt cheap to make. Stoya just buys plane tickets and gets a hotel, something you would do on holiday or while travelling ordinarily. So she thinks. "While I'm on holiday or touring the world, if I can pull off a make-shift scene, it could pay for all the expenses and put some content on my site" She just needed to hire cheap male talent, which is probably really cheap, because she's Stoya, and most talent would work for her just to promote themselves even without pay. Lets be honest every guys would amputate their left nut to do her. The only other expense is the camera which she probably own prior due to her profession. So in essence she's not a bad director because she's not even trying to direct. She knows than some schmuck (me) is going to buy the scene regardless of how bad it is. And the scene itself is so cheaply made and it would still make profit if only a 200 people buy it. So she's just lazy is a smart way. But it looks to me, that she's done with mainstream porn and is trying to leave the business, so she's just doing this as pity effort. [Link]
