Exactly, so many (short-lived) sites sprung up after Girlsways' success. I was also thinking of the IR wave that came right after Blacked became popular (part of why I am a bit excited about VMG's G/G interest).
We really need someone that actually cares about G/G. As I mentioned in my original post, it seems like G/G is an afterthought for most studios these days, even for ones that used to produce solid content.
I'm happy we are keeping this conversation going. I'm hoping that some people in the biz looking to get into G/G might see this and take note of some of the things that we are talking about. "All Things Lesbian" is very broad, as opposed to talking about the G/G industry specifically, so I am hoping this thread will be useful for that purpose.
Exactly, it's really just an afterthought for most. But if someone who really "get's it" becomes popular, things could take a turn for the better.
I also wonder why studios don't do a better job of hiring people with a proven track record to produce content. Imagine if the producer of KissMeGirl had a series on AdultTime or Tammy Sands started working with another large studio.
As I understand it, the short-lived GirlGirl website was a joint venture between Stills by Alan and Jules Jordan - we need a lot more of that too.
Another issue is that some of the people who were producing decent G/G and actually cared for the genre or had talent for it got noticed by B/G studios and were snapped up/poached ie; Ricky Greenwood, Jacky St. James, etc.
Then there is the retirement of Dan from GF, Bree Mills moving away from the Genre, LesbianX barely updating, G/G only performers crossing over/retiring, etc.

Dude, I just discovered Tammy Sands this past year. It would be amazing if she came back.
Yeah, it's so annoying. B/G doesn't need that (relatively rare) expertise, so it's frustrating when that happens. The people good at G/G should ideally be working to produce more G/G. It just seems like everyone that made G/G special is drifting away...
I know, right? Her videos are awesome and definitely among some of my faves. I always thought that hiring her would be an easy way for a large studio to get back into the G/G game (assuming they cared...).
I definitely feel like AllherLuv has really made a name for itself as high-quality & very passionate G/G content. They haven't seem to have made the same kind of splash that Girlsway did, but I'm hoping their popularity builds to the point where they can attract a high enough subscriber that will make other sites follow their lead. Slayed has the deep pockets of VMG behind it which makes me think it will be successful in the long run, even though I haven't seen much from them that interests me. However, at this point any site that helps increase the popularity of G/G will get my blessing.
^ Allherluv does put out a quality product. But, it's once a week while GW was churning out 4 to 5 scenes a week at one point. Also, despite the tension filled setups, allherluv sexual content is quite tame.
You would think genuine passionate sex between hot women would attract male viewers and make lesbian sites popular like the b/g ones, but apparently not.
I must admit that I haven't kept a close eye on AllherLuv, mainly because I am a bit more on the visual side when it comes to G/G (tension/buildup is secondary, but still greatly appreciated with the right shots). I'll revisit it since it's been a while since I last checked it out.
My thoughts on Slayed are similar, with the exception that I am a bit more excited because of their focus on closeups, which few G/G studios seem to care about (I became a G/G fan in the era of Bellezza video). Ultimately, I am hoping its success with spur on enough interest that there will be sites/studios with content for every G/G fan - from the "story/tension/passion" crowd to the "visual/closeup" crowd, and everything in between...
Yeah, also strange given that it's the top search on many sites and something a lot of women also enjoy. Another surprise for me is that a lot of girls also like the more visual stuff (just check out the comments on some of those videos on the relevant sites.
Problem is that we aren't getting genuine passionate sex in scenes anymore. Scenes nowadays are very poor, gay4pay girls kissing with their mouths closed, fake moaning and licking everywhere but the pussy. I honestly don't know if its production or just the current generation of performers but quality just isn't there, so I'm not surprised people aren't interested.
Could not agree with you more. Not to mention the sites themselves trying to hide this with massive editing (which doesn't work), or even outside the video by making the thumbnails/photosets show things which the video doesn't have.
I definitely think both are a factor, but I think the issue is mainly with production. There are quite a lot of girls that are into girls that are genuinely trying to break into the industry, but with a lack of studios, websites, and overall enthusiasm, they aren't getting the chances they would normally get. Instead, we end up with producers who care more about looks and put minimal care into a scene. How many times have we seen scenes with great performers that turn out to be absolute duds?
There are people who "get it" (KissMeGirl, Greg Lansky, Tammy Sands, etc..), but they generally aren't in charge of studios (A. Stills excluded). Until that changes, we will continue to have hit-or-miss scenes by people who barely care.
If you don't mind bossy Brazilians, you might just be in luck. there is a studio on Clips4sale called "Taboo Lesbian MF" that specializes in that type of content. It's not quite my cup of tea (I prefer reciprocal action in my G/G scenes), but you should check it out (Taboo Lesbian MF).
If the $20-22 price per scene is too much, you can join MFVideoXXX (Link), which includes many of their scenes for around $50-60/month.
I wish there was a website with lesbian pee content where the swallowing is authentic and consistent. Vipissy does so many editing cuts that you don't know what's being swallowed. I'm also surprised at how low Vipissy's prices have fallen, and the sparsity of postings on their message boards. Since they are pretty much the only game in town, and it's a specialized genre, where is everybody? I'd be willing to pay extravagantly for quality content, but nobody is providing it.
Not too familiar with that type of content outside of Vipissy, but I agree that there should be more sites exploring it, at least on occasion. It wouldn't be hard for a site like Legalporno to make the occasional all-girl scene, which would likely make them more $$$ than the 4986th video with 4-12 guys doing the same thing to the same girls over and over again...
Cool, doesn't seem like too many guys are familiar with MF, so I figured I would mention it.
As for "visuals", I should clarify that I will always appreciate chemistry, but it doesn't mean much if you don't get to see the action. In a perfect world, you would have a good mix of both, but since "chemistry" is more ephemeral and less within the control of any particular director, I feel like they should get the "visuals" right, which would make "chemistry" filled scenes all the better.
I also feel that a lack of visuals has played a role in relegating the category to the back burner, as most guys are much more visually oriented than typical G/G fan. When I speak to the average guy, they often mention the things most G/G fans like (story, pacing, buildup) as detractors. I suspect that it's likely why Slayed took the approach that it did, when we all would have preferred a Lansky era "We Live Together" style site.
WLT is a prime example that you can nail both criteria, which is why I constantly refer to the same couple of sites, as they are proof that it can be done. But absent any talented G/G directors that can pull it off, there should be an effort to skew more toward the visual (see Wowgirls/Ultrafilms). I also want to clarify that advocating for more visuals doesn't mean I want G/G to be done in the same way that B/G is, they are fundamentally different, so the same approach is how we end up with "Brazzers" style videos, which I dislike as much as the next guy...
These are just my speculations, but I've communicated with enough producers and industry players to surmise that they have effectively given up on a segment that is perceived as fairly particular, vocal and prickly, which often doesn't put their money where their mouth is (myself included).
TL:DR - Chemistry is great, but chasing it at the expense of everything else is likely leading to a general disinterest in the genre (compare the state of G/G to other segments of the LGBTQ space).
I agree, it's definitely one of my pet peeves (keep switching positions), or that they keep switching angles (*cough* Viv Thomas *cough*). As a female commenter mentioned, watching entended shots of oral is a huge turn-on and would actually go a long way towards making some of the sex more realistic (among other things pointed out by the "ATL" (All Things Lesbian) Crew.
I know it's been mentioned on other threads but does anyone miss more "Gonzo-style" lesbian content? I feel like we only really got it in the era of toys and lollipop licking and never really saw it when G/G started being taken more seriously.
I feel like we are missing an awesome opportunity to shoot some highly erotic, non-cartoony style G/G with newcomers to the industry. I'm thinking "Kiss Me Girl Explicit" action in 4K. I would even settle for a newer version of "Party of 3".
Let me know your thoughts. Would be great to keep the conversation going so that people in the industry know what we are looking for.
P.S. I also noticed that "Girls Gone Wild" is now functioning as a PornBox-powered website that's recycling old GFF and GGW content (with random content from others thrown in). It would be awesome if some entrepreneurial Euro or US studios could start producing unique content in a similar format.
I'm willing to pay Legalporno prices at this point...

^Was just saying this in the "Is gonzo dead?" thread.
I'm with you; I would pay alot more for content that is actually hyper-sexual and with none of the nonsense. It's astonishing that with all the content out there, all the niches that get filled, there is no website offering explicit graphic *actual* female-on-female fucking on a consistent basis.
I don't even know how that's possible. You'd think sites would have tried literally any and every idea, but not this one particular idea.
One day, some producer with impeccable taste is going to bring a site with the vibe of Lansky-era We Live Together. One day. I'd twice as much what the average yearly site membership is for that.
I for one would kill for a Belladonna style gg content! She was an amazing performer and director. Don't think will ever see something like that ever again tho.
^Belladonna was definitely the pioneer of extreme G/G gonzo content. Dana Vespoli seemed to follow in her footsteps although I believe she's mostly retired from performing in front of the camera. One to keep your eye on is Cherry Kiss. She was already an incredible performer, but now she's begun directing for Evil Angel along with performing, and her G/G directing work so far has been in the Belladonna-extreme kind of mold.
^funny story about Belladonna: as she was shooting Charley Chase and Andy Dan Dimas for fetish fanatic #8, it was hard for her to do so, as she was in a corner, masturbating, because the scene was so good.
100% percent. I think that most of us would pay higher fees if the content was worth it. I know that piracy and theft is a huge problem, but the way that producers can/and should get around that is producing content that compels us to pay, with the full knowledge that if we don't, the site will disappear like so many, many others.
Crowdfunding and carefully listening to feedback would also go a long way to remedy the problem.
This might be controversial, but I would even be okay with streaming only options if it meant that the site could produce a lot of content (8 scenes a month or more).
The point about Belladonna is a painful reminder of how much variety in G/G in general has just disappeared. Her work had a unique feel and was something starkly different from the other stuff out there. There is also a conspicuous absence of G/G fetish themed sites that cater to specific things.
As a side note, the biggest puzzle for me has always been when girls getaway with not liking girls. It's painfully obvious when girls are literally trying to avoid eating pussy in a scene. If you are going to cast girls who are in it for the money, at least make them do a convincing job...
I know these observations sound negative, but I feel like there are simple adjustments that could make the genre more appealing to everyone, both hardcore fans and casual observers alike.
As another side note, what are some fun ideas you would like to see G/G try to do?
On the back of gooch's ideas earlier in this thread, I for one would love a site that shot 2 versions of a scene. One that was slow, soft and intimate, and another that was raunchy, explicit and fun (but not over the top and "shrieking"). The producers would shoot all of it at the same time, but edit and put together two different and distinct scenes. You could pay to access either or, or pay a bit more for both.
The site could therefore leverage talented performances better, while keep costs down and appealing to more people in G/G.
Anyone else have any ideas? - Would love to hear what your ideal site would be.
I've been watching so called "pro-am" lesbian scenes on ManyVids and Pornhub and I like what I see. The sex feels more realistic with none of the fake moaning or over-the-top sex positions. And the performers seem to REALLY, REALLY love women. I call it "pro-am" because the performers seem to be freestyle and not represented by anyone. They are, however, using high-quality equipment and, most importantly, being filmed by a cameraperson who knows what they are doing. I really like this combination. However, it gets costly for the viewer having to pay ManyVids prices and/or subscribing to multiple performers. I would love to see a company step in and build a website whose content is pro-am videos. I think the prices would be cheaper, and maybe they could contract with the performers, providing them with a more stable income stream.

The thing about women who are grossed out by GG getting away with doing their lame scenes is that the majority of fans don't care or dare I say prefer it that the girls don't enjoy the action. Reading "I think this is the best GG scene I've ever watched" when it's about a scene where at least one of the performers definitely doesn't like women is deflating. I could totally see a producer intending to make good content but ultimately being defeated by people who think Darcie Dolce is actually giving Gianna Dior an orgasm.
^^^I'd like to see a series of scenes where one girl is "butched up" as it wear in suit, short hair, wife beater, etc. give it to a hyper femme girl and never receives anything return. After some kissing, breast worship, and oral, the majority of the scene would be Strap-On action with the "butch" giving it to the "femme". They could reverse the roles in a part 2.
^^Makes me wonder what it would look like if a bunch of good G/G performers got together and created their own G/G site.
^That would be a really interesting twist on the more traditional femme G/G content that we usually see. I've seen scenes like that rather infrequently over the years, but definitely not a common occurrence. Interestingly enough, just today I bought this scene from Sinn Sage's self-produced catalogue on ManyVids. She actually has a few of these kinds of scenes where she's dressed in more masculine style clothing while she tops her femme co-star.
^Just to add to this: Claire Adams topped Sinn in "Boundaries #5". Also if you include fetish stuff Bobbi Starr & Dragon Lily topped Sinn for a Kink.com scene.
As a heads up, it looks like Adultprime is slowly starting to produce more G/G (they just launched primelesbian.com, which is on the heels of their acquisitions of Sensual Heat and Massagesins). Can't say that any of it has caught my eye, but I figured I would pass along the info.
Also, GirlsGoneWild has released a few scenes.

Nevermind, found them. They are on GirlsGoneWild.com but you have to dig for them.
With so much lez porn produced over decades, I don't see much point left to complaining about its current status. I accumulated more than I probably will ever watch, so keeping the great stuff and discarding the rest is my plan for a while. I'm overdue to start having higher standards. I have a few basic criteria for fast discards:
1. Predator and prey. Blackmail, coercion, deception, etc. 2. Cheap, lazy, stupid, or corporate formula taboo scripts, usually step-incest. 3. Breast implants. 4. Long gyno shots. 5. Airlingus and similar dodges by women who don't enjoy their work. 6. Too much music. Porn producers don't pay for anything worth hearing.
Some great porn was made by studios and sites that folded years ago, or has been dropped from existing sites. Trying to keep a high standard of collection would be difficult if the standard is lost classics.
I would say I agree on all points except 4 (I'm a sucker for long close-ups, which barely exist in G/G these days). I've tried collecting some older content, but you would be surprised how often content gets pulled from various PPV streaming services.
One recent example is the "A Girl's Affair" series, which I could previously find on Gamelink. One day, they suddenly pulled its 40+ titles without explanation.
Whoa TNV! I didn't know those guys have made a comeback. Just went over to their website and not quite sure what to make of it. I do see a few familiar faces (Jill Kassidy, Athena Faris, Liz Jordan, perhaps Kyler Quinn, and even Blue Angel?!), but there are also unknowns. Seems pretty pricey. How was your experience with it?
