It looks like Elegant Angel recently did an overhaul of their website and I'm impressed with what I've seen so far as a non-member. I've been a fan of the studio for a while and their new site looks incredible with new updates and the addition of a Roku channel.
Has anyone joined the new EA site? What does everyone think of Elegant Angel's new website?
Thanks!

I don't think you are going to like this but here goes anyway.
Pros:
1-They are still alive. The faith of EA was until recently quite unsure. Of course I may be a little too optimistic because they could be dead by next month.
2-You can now watch it on your Roku.
3-They promise to update fives times per week(see cons).
Cons:
1-It's a badly designed site with one continuous preview page that is intermixed with content, advertising and a whole lot of join information. It's also all white with 1/5 of the screen wasted on join info and shopping.
2-Clicking on any of the preview scenes brings you to a page with keywords and a video that automatically starts to play. Trust me when I tell you that auto-play videos pisses people off. It doesn't help that none of ther keywords bring up anything other than the join page.
3-I have a seriously hard time believing that they can update with five new videos per week. They would have to produce the equivalent of 4-5 dvd per month. That's bold but unrealistic to think they can do it. Evil Angel is the only studio that manages to release that many videos per week and they have the same owner as they have always had. Every other old time studio has either cut back on production of died.

If you go to the main landing page right now, the latest update is a "behind the scenes" video. I'm sure that's one way they're going to meet the commitment of updating 5x per week. Seems like a dumb strategy to me.

Also, there's no way as a non-member to see what content is really there. If you go to explore the library and click on one of the content tags on the left, it brings up a list of DVDs, but when you click on any of those titles, it takes you straight to the join screen instead of previewing the content within that DVD. So that's not good.

Thanks for the info!
The older Mason/William H. movies are my favorites and the era of Elegant Angel I love the most. It's disappointing to hear they aren't on the site. Also researching further into the site myself, I noticed that Elegant Angel's membership site is streaming only, another disappointment, having 1080p downloads available is a must for me.
Also concerned about the credit card issue, that's too big of a risk for me to take.
Sounds like I'd be better off buying Elegant Angel movies from AEBN, HotMovies, streaming them on VideoBox or picking them up on DVD
Thanks again!

Trust me, I don't mind reading this at all, while it may not be what I'd like to hear, it helps me make a decision on whether or not to join and I appreciate that, so thank you for your thoughts!
After browsing the site on my own, I realized that EA is a streaming only site, which is a deal-breaker for me, having downloads available is essential for me.
I decided I'll just buy the Elegant Angel movies I like from AEBN, HotMovies, and Adult Empire.
Thanks!

^Seriously? No downloads with a subscription? That's just nuts. What the hell are they thinking?

I joined and checked it, although the approach to the site is minimalist , yet it is good(aesthetically speaking) however there are certain concerns -
1) There is no download option and I had a chat with their customer service for nearly 30mins regarding this. Initial response was that they will be not be adding this request in future however when I explained the rationale behind it , they obliged and asked to take it to their development team.
2)Streaming with low caliber internet is an issue and they are actively restricting users to not join the site by doing that.
3)Also , if one user does not get what he pays for , piracy is the alternative, and I had a discussion on how their such act is in fact emboldening piracy rather than curbing it.
4)I also mentioned that , if they wish to charge a small fee of say 1 or 2 dollar per download that would be understandable but not giving download option at all is worrisome.
5)I even cited the case study on piracy, there was a huge music piracy until Steve Jobs launched itunes and then people happily paid for it, so people usually don't do piracy unless they are forced to.
6)Bottom line is who wants to infect their computer with malicious content when you can buy it from a safer platform at a reasonable rate. Empahsis on reasonable.
I agree with all the comments mentioned above and the ones especially related to download- who wants to pay when you can not download it. Hope we could bring it to their attention so that they can change their policy.

I agree! I have no idea what EA was thinking, downloads are essential to me, many of EA's competitors offer downloads and they're charging the same as Elegant Angel for a site membership, or even slightly less at $120/year. Hopefully Elegant Angel adds downloads as an option going forward, even if its a separate subscription fee like what Wicked's doing with their VIP memberships

Thanks so much for this and explaining to Elegant Angel's customer service the rationale behind why downloads are important, especially since so many other membership sites do offer downloads. I personally find $150/year for a streaming only membership expensive, considering that most other membership sites are $120/year and do include 1080p downloads as part of the membership.

If you ask me. The new owner(s) are basically crooks because nowhere on the site is it written that this is a streaming only site. In fact they seem to go out of their way to avoid mentioning anything to do with how you view the content and instead emphasize that you can stream it on your Roku. To add insult to injury you can't even see older content. At this point I think anyone interested in Elegant Angel movies should just join Videobox. They probably won't have the new exclusive videos but frankly they can take those and shove it up where the sun don't shine. The other option is to join the old elegant angel site(see link).

Of course you don't get the new stuff and if you are a past member like me than you have to make sure that you join far enough back to have new content. As far as I know they stopped updating about 6-7 months ago.

That's true I had to do some digging, go to "help" at the bottom to see the FAQ and it was there I saw that it was a streaming only site.
That's confusing to have 2 membership sites, the new revamped Elegant Angel site with the latest updates but no older content and the older Club Elegant Angel that does have older content. EA should merge the 2 together to have one membership site. Browsing the old site it looks like it DOES offer downloads. Doesn't make sense that the old site would have downloads but the new one doesn't.

^ Regarding the two website issue, it seems like it's a result of business deals made by the prior owners:

Thanks for clearing that up, hopefully a new agreement can be made to merge the 2 sites into one elegantangel.com, with the older content and the download option added back in addition to the Roku channel, which looks like it was added when the new site launched. It's confusing for potential members like me, since I'd assume that the new site would have all of the content released by the studio including the older William H/Mason titles.

^Dream on. That is never going to happen. What I think you have here is someone who bought the rights to the Elegant Angel name started producing their own content and released it under the new site knowing that most people would simply assume that this is Elegant Angel 2.0 and gladly join expecting to see all the old stuff as well as the new stuff and that it be downloadable like it used to be. It's not illegal but it's morally dishonest. I checked and as far as I know the only way to know that the content is streaming only is if you click on the "Need help" icon on the very first page you get when you click on the link. It's location doesn't make any sense because by it's very name it's meant for people trying to join or having issues once they have joined.

Not being able to download is a deal breaker. I won't be joining this new Elegant Angel site.

EDIT - Nevermind, I already started a thread a few months ago about these money pinching scumbags.
