| von_swine Member Dominance & Persecution. 919 Posts 1/04 | Posted - Aug 22 2013 : 3:29PM it all starts at the top of EACH company, so much of the current idiocy in XXX could be done away with if there were still dyed in the wool/blue-blooded xxx people calling the shots. but, most/almost all have been put out by the rise of the online companies and how they do business. and I'm not even talking about the Tube-sites, just the brand(s) of online porno that destroyed the 'star machine'. w/less dvd work to go around, and online producers only using gals once/twice at most, you have entire crops of female talent that show up and have NOTHING to do after 3-5 weeks in. plus, the handful of gigs they got were at 1k-$1200 just for some vanilla 1 on 1, so now they dont want to put their shoes on for less than a 1000 dollars. expectations are set waay too high and then the phone stops ringing. escorting starts paying the rent and now you have the hooker brigade in full force taking the odd xxx scene here and there to stay/feel current. once someone commits to sex work they aint gonna give it up. the era of porn 'stars' is pretty much dead and gone. the websites dont need stars to make their $$$, they just need updates for their branded web page, regardless of who fits the bill/slot. the spikers get NO scrutiny anymore because of these loser shooters working for corporate on a daily sched that gets met, or they get replaced by some dude off of craigslist w/a 5d mark III... etc, etc, etc,... sorry about the rant, maybe I'm being a bit too open about whats going on here in xxx,...but I dont have an agenda other than wanting to keep me & Mike in the game for as long as we wanna be here. still, the fans should have a more honest/gritty perspective of whats actually happening thesedays,... thanx for the fanfare everyone, we totally appreciate it. lates, Von S. XXX/Porno creates a product that's impulsive and temporary, so why should the actual inner-working of this business be any different? Dans #'s weren't too far off, but his distro and ours is different and so is the price point per unit. Mike also has a large catalog that is usually an essential difference each month in order to stay in the black. I dont know/care what Dan pays talent, etc., but I know that there's a reason I have to do entire productions myself when Mike's not here because it's not worth spending ANY extra $$$'s for hired help. if I can do it all, then I will do it all, lol. when XXX was firing from the late 90's to say 04' it was because of the delivery method up to that time was unchallenged on any level. much like the vcr wiped out the movie theatre/raincoater crowd, the PC and hi-speed internet conections were the real mid-wife to our demise as dvd content producers. the fags that created the tubesites just took advantage of 3rd party thievery who would then put their hands up and say; 'we didnt upload it, talk to the 50,000 people who have access to upload content'..and raked in the traffic w/our stolen scenes/movies w/absolutely NO recourse or litigation from us. porno is everywhere now, which is why it's so hard to sell. in the past, prono being hard to get actually wroked in it's favor since the people milling around the stores or buying thru mail order spent their $$$ and went straight to their couch to start choking the bishop for an hour-two. the last thread that keeps XXX/porno alive is the new talent,..that's it. new, pretty girls are what's keeping XXX running on fumes because as fans we all are dying to see who's next to show up and take a load in the chops. thanx Goldstein for getting me to wax waay too much about what people really dont want to hear, but hey...when in doubt just ask Swiney. my fingers are crossed we can trudge through and keep keepin the lights on...because I'd rather not go back to cleaning/servicing pools.. lates, Von S.
