But here comes the flaw: Unfortunately it is presented in the wrong aspect ratio. Its size is 960 x 720 but should be 1296 x 720 (or alternatively 1280 x 720). That means the movie, although being shot in 16:9, is provided in 4:3 and all the people look squeezed. I contacted the guys at videobox but they didn't respond so far. It’s definitely not a final solution... But a means to an end, so you can enjoy your scenes now. I play all my videos with mplayer (from commandline), a simple -aspect 16:9 does the trick. VLC has a similar option in the Video menu, and I guess others do, too. [Link] |

Edited by - rafaga85 on 1/14/2015 8:37:21 AM [/quote] shooters/directors like to get into grooves w/the talent they hire over the months/years, and since I started shooting a lot of blowbangs from early in my career, it gave me the chance to start 'stacking' my 1st & 2nd choice lists. as time went on, and most of those guys became unavailable, the number of male performers that I knew from shooting dwindled, and is now down to almost nothing. sure, Mason, Darkko, & Jules still have blowbangs with 6-10 guys, but I only know 2-5 of those performers. the other half I have no rapport with and have no idea if they are worth relying on for what I can pay, or even if they'd say 'yes' to my gig. and with blowbang shoots becoming more rare with each month, now the girls don't usually care to do it for the money offered, and if they do agree to it, they're not always great unless there is a prior shoot history(with me) before their blowbang scene. I see other companies trying to re-jumpstart the genre here and there, and good for them. but until I can see it being worth the investment then I'm not going through the trouble of lining it up. ALL of this has to pay for itself down the road, and NOT in a year or 18 months,.. if my movie doesn't recoup in 90 days or less then it wasn't worth doing and will set me back financially. I might say this a lot but keep in mind, Mike & I are STILL independent producers. we pay for and OWN the movies we make and are still here with NO help from online/affiliate revenue(I,.e.; membership/paysites like EA & JJV have). dvd sales, some v.o.d. money and occasional broadcast sales are our only avenues of revenue. that's pretty much where it's at and why w/out going into too much detail that I'd rather not do here on a message board. thanx for the questions and if you got more feel free to send em' my way. layes, von S.
