^ We shouldn't broadbrush the topic, or maybe we should, but willfully neglecting the role the industry has played into propagating and in some ways causing the Jack Sparrows of the world to multiply cannot be ignored.
Well, it cannot be argued that certain members of the industry did capitalize on the multitude of skull & crossbones flags sailing into port, but I don't think they were the cause. It was going to happen no matter what. They just found a way to control it to a degree. The same thing happened in Hollywood, and even before that, in the music industry.
That's how we got concept like P***hub Originals (from Mindgeek), Pornbox (from WGCZ), etc.
Traditional DVDs were never going to beat piracy; neither were easily-pirated traditional websites offering a selection of content for download at a flat membership price. There had to be a new model which could offer something piracy was unable to steal. The same thing happened in the music industry in the early 2000's. Rightly or wrongly, fairly or unfairly, the traditional model must always adapt in the face of piracy or it will die. The solution for the porn industry was to create a concept which was either more convenient (and therefore more attractive) than piracy itself, or which offered some sort of experience that cannot be pirated.
P***hub Originals offers user interaction with the performer via comments, customs, etc. and content directly based on user requests and view data.
Pornbox offers a-la-carte pricing for professional content through a clip store marketplace and also features very active forums enabling user interaction with the producers.
The Vixen Media Group sites are successful using the traditional web membership model, but they distinguish their content by focusing on best-of-class premium production values, which is (IMO) the only reason they are able to do so well with such an antiquated model.
The point is that everything needs to have a value-add now or it cannot survive, and that is because the raw content can always be pirated, but the value-add cannot.

I was watching a few older scenes, could somebody tell me who the other girl is in the scene with Daisy stone and Jean Val Jean ?
Anyone besides me want to see Tushy diversify their booking in terms of ethnicity? There's been a grand total of five scenes with non-caucasian women released in the last year and zero in the last 90 days. Those five models have been Nia Nacci, Gina Valentina, Harmony Wonder, Gia Vendetti, and Vina Sky. I realize we're still in the midst of a shutdown, but it's not like Tushy can't book quality talent.
^I would be happy to see variety in the performers who appear on Tushy but I don't expect it to actually happen and it's not because I think Tushy is against hiring models of various ethnicity but because there is very little variety in the industry. It's even less likely now because Tushy has for the last couple of years been using many eastern European models and there is a lot less ethnic diversity in those populations.
Now maybe the coming months and years will see a surge of ethnic diversity in the models who work in the industry which in turn will mean more ethnic diversity in the Vixen Group videos but I'm not going to schedule a parade until that happens.
Until we see otherwise, anyone guessing American girls at Tushy or Tushyraw are going to be disappointed. They've pretty much become Euro sites at this point. Maybe when COVID fades ...
^^While I agree that we see significantly more European models on the various Vixen Group(VG) sites. I think cost of production is a large part of why that is happening. That is especially true for the anal videos the VG puts out because most of the European models doing anal for VG aren't anal newbies. In fact the vast majority of them have done it multiple times so they have no way to negotiate for a higher asking price. If I'm being cynical then I would say that VG is targeting specific performers who do anal on a regular basis because then they can shoot a bunch of high quality anal videos for dirt cheap. The good news for us is that it the allows them to pay a premium price to get the non-anal performers to do it for them.

^ It's more likely the fact that Julia Grandi is directing more scenes and funneling the actresses from her 'talent agency' into the network, effectively making money on both ends. There could be another reason why so many unknown, second and third tier performers are showing up so often but if you follow the money it all winds up in her pockets.
^Not saying that she doesn't have a vested interest in booking the girls from her agency but the VG is a business and like any business. Their main goal is to make as much money as possible so if they weren't okay with how things are then I don't care who Julia is. They would go a different route in a second.

^ You could be absolutely correct in their overall happiness with the content Grandi is producing. The comment sections on their sites aren't as optimistic though and it's a hard argument to counter that despite all his numerous faults these sites as a whole were at their apex when Greggo was in the captains chair. I noticed the shift immediately when she was brought in, it was night and day with what was consistently being shown before. There are a lot of moving parts we aren't privy to, but on the face of it I don't expect things to get better anytime soon, Covid or not.

I find most of the Julia Grandi scenes boring. The Sofi Smile scene posted today is a great example of this.

Technically, wouldn't it be her 5th First Anal? By my count, I have her at 4 just for Woodman (First Casting, First DP, Secret Garden, WUNF), plus whatever her MV one was.
I got a chuckle reading on Indexxx about someone commenting on how she looked scared during her Tushy shoot. Okay, she survived 4 Woodman shoots, I highly doubt Tushy went from their usual formula of tip-fucking to Facial Abuse-style...
^ That's a good shout but it isn't. The Woodman scenes were at least 2 + years ago and there's no way this one is that old. Certainly looks a bit younger on the 'earlier' scenes.
Personally I'm done with these sites at the moment, at least until they start shooting American models again... They fell down so hard from what Lansky made of it.
I tend to agree partially, but think at that there's a production shutdown in LA since nearly 4 months. At least that's a part of the reason why we currently see so many East European productions.

^ That's partially to blame but then when you look at what they've put out since the pandemic hit these past four months calling the quality of the scenes absurdly low is a compliment.
