This is a thread with many difficult issues. One thing that is significant is that the attitude to race varies depending on where you go and who you talk to. Especially if you're not American, the whole conversation about "black" and "white" can be a bit perplexing at times. If you're not American, then a lot of the stuff to do with race and stereotypes doesn't really apply the same.
