^ I guess this is where hardcore porn addiction ultimately winds up, ie. coming full circle with the viewing of softcore stuff. I highly recommend these two classics

I doubt it. The US copyright statute's section on fair use says
My guess is that mixing various clips of copyrighted porn in order to create a new porn would run into problems under criteria 1 (for being a derivative use instead of a transformative use) and 4.

I don't think that hardcore porn is coming full circle but instead it's that true porn fans are just so tired of the crap being produced today that we would rather talk about stuff that actually turns us on. Aren't you tired of all the shitty porn? Wouldn't you rather watch softcore porn where there is a level of passion? When porn producers are given vibrant young women to work with and all they wind up doing with them is asking them if they mind getting a cum shot to the face after getting pile driven into oblivion in one or both of their orifices.
I used to enjoy gonzo porn just like everybody else but that's because it was something different and misogyny wasn't a key element in most of them but now that all porn is gonzo than I'd rather talk about and look at something else.

Well, yeah, obviously I meant that's it's extremely easy to get jaded with hardcore. I wouldn't say I prefer to watch softer stuff...it entirely depends what I'm in the mood for.

I don't expect Gonzo to ever be much different from what we're seeing now because Gonzo doesn't (and probably shouldn't) be more than what it is becaue there's a huge audience for that. But I'm disappointed that the features don't give a much wider array of different types of sex. It's just a vanilla version of Gonzo in my opinion. The sex in a feature should reflect the story being told and the stories being told should be a wider range of subjects. The sex in a comedy should be different than the sex in a drama. There shuld be examples of passionate sex, angry sex, awkward sex, very hard sex, etc., etc...but it's usually just the same sex with the same positions.
If there were more features with different types of sex you don't usually see I think more people would want to own that type of porn and be willing to pay for it because would be something different.

^I agree that it's hard to make gonzo different but I think the gonzo made 10 to 20 years ago was in some ways different. If I was to use a food analogy than our gonzo meal of yesterday tasted different than what we are now fed. I think the chef's who made our meals back then knew how to cook which is rather important when the type of food you are serving has a good chance of being bland and you want your customers to enjoy their meal so that they come back. They also tried to use a higher grade of ingredients so that the taste will be better and since each cook wanted to stand out from the other than each had their own presentation of what were essentially meat and potato.
I think your analogy regarding todays porn feature films is dead on. I have two reasons why that is. The first one is that past feature films were primarily story driven movies about people interacting with each other on a daily basis but where we got to see them have sex. The level of intensity in the sex scenes didn't rely on the hardcore aspect of the scene so much as the chemistry between the players(basically what softcore porn does but without showing the penetration). Todays porn feature film has sex scenes where someone attempted to write a story around. Some manage to do a good job but many fails miserably.
The second reason is that I think that todays pornographer has little if any talent when it comes to the art of cinematography. Past cinematographer were students or graduates of film school. Is there a single person shooting porn today that can claim that?

I see a lot of people say that here (or at least something close) but I don't really see it. For example: Jules Joardan was around 10 years ago and ws considered on of the best. He's still around...so what makes his old stuff better than the new stuff? There are still a few directors still around from the era and from what I see with most if not all of them is there new stuff is technically better than the old stuff. I watch stuff from back then from time to time and there are performers I like better than some of the ones from today's but otherwise the newer stuff from those directors is better in my opinion.
Personally, I prefer stories written around the sex because the sex is the reason I'm watching the movie. The quicker the movie gets to the next sex scene the better. Which is why the only feature movies I like are are from DIGITAL PLAYGROUND. The stories are very simple and mostly revolve around sex and what little story there is only exists to set up the next sex scene. I know some people like something of more substance from a feature but I usually don't.
My main gripe with features are that the sex is usually bland and usually all looks the same. What little acting there is stops when the sex starts and it's just the same generic sex over and over. If the story is about a couple in love the sex looks the same as if the guy paid for a hooker. If the story is about a girl having sex for the first time the sex looks like a typical sex scene where the girl knows all the moves and positions like a practiced pro. The sex should reflect the story being told instead of doing the same old same old.

^ I used to be a huge fan of the movies SCORE did but not of their current stuff. The girls they used to feature were great but I guess since the huge bust era ended there aren't as many girls to carry on the tradition and they had to adjust by doing movies featuring older MILFs and BBW.
So I guess they would be a studio that I think was producing better product 10 years ago than today.

^ The huge bust era has ended? Must've missed that meeting. Have you been on the SCORE website or seen any of the magazines lately? There's more new girls coming through than I can possibly keep up with. By the way, Mamazon is another great story-driven gonzo flick.

^ It's not what it used to be. I'm a fan of the era of Sarenna Lee, Angelique, Tiffany Towers, Linsey Dawn to the era of Danielle Derek, Daphne Rosen, Denise Derringer, etc... Back when most of SCORE's output was big boobs. Nowadays, not as many girls are getting the big boobjobs and the natural big boobs with a slim body are much fewer. Now SCORE tries to make up the difference with older MILFs, teens, and more BBW players. Once upon a time the girls who only shot for SCORE were hotter. Now to me at least most of those women are "C" and "D" listers.
MAMAZONS is a great movie but it came out years ago. They still offer good movies but it's the older stuff. The new stuff...not so good in my opinion.
Score is a company that doesn't seem to be pirated as much as some companies. If you want to see most of there stuff you gotta buy it. Well, I'm sure that's probably not true but at least it's true from the sites I watch from time to time.

^ Sounds to me like you're a fan of the 'silicone era', back when SCORE was doing the Boob Cruises circa '94-2000. That's fair enough, I like those girls too but to say the quality of their output has declined in recent years is madness. I'd say they've diversified; they have a bigger stable of magazines/videos now, such as XL Girls, 40Something & Bootylicious. Check out recent girls like Leanne Crow, Karla James, Karina Hart, Eva Notty, Venera, Hitomi, Valory Irene, Rockell, Melissa Manning, Sha Rizel (I could go on and on) and tell me it's not as good as it used to be. I'd suggest sending them an email (score@scoregroup.com) with your views - they seem to be one of the most receptive adult companies to customer feedback. I'd be interested to see their response.

^ No desire to send an email. They should do what they think is best and not try to cater to every fan with specific tastes. I have to imagine on a technical level they're better than they were years ago but as you pointed out I was/am a fan of a particular type of girl. It's nice that they're more diverse these days but in my opinion they don't do the non-big boob stuff as good as some of the other companies/studios out there and yet they charge more for that product than most others do. Most of their heir new girls just don't do much for me and the few that do don't seem to do any hardcore stuff. Plus... (and it's a big "plus") the thing that has always kinda annoed me about SCORE is a lot of their stuff you can only get from them directly and between their inflated prices for DVDs plus inflated shipping it's not worth it for me. They release some stuff to retailers but some of what I consider great stuff by them has only been available only directly from them. I have to wonder if that's the best business model for them.
I was very happy to see they finally offered a streaming site and joined up for a time but their catalog for the site was fairly small and new movie additions were a few at a time. After I watched all the stuff I wanted to and cancelled my subsription I kept thinking I'd join again after they built up their catalog but it's been over a year and there's only been a handful of new movies they put on the site that I have any interest in. Not worth signing up again. Most of their updates is the newer stuff. If they offered a better mix of older stuff with the new stuff I'd happily sign up again.

Speaking of online streaming sites...I'm surprised they aren't even bigger and more profitable than the DVD market is or was. But maybe they are. At this point is there evidence that for studios like EVIL ANGEL or BRAZZERS that the online stuff makes more than DVD sales?

^^ They certainly set themselves apart from other companies, that's for sure. Also, I agree they can be expensive but I never buy the videos on release (in any format). I always wait a while before buying physical releases as they tend to come down in price (a bit) when released to Europe; as far as VOD goes, a while back they launched the SCOREland 2 site which is just $9.95 a month to subscribe - the downside being that it's 2-year old material but if you don't care about being 'behind' - as I don't - it's an absolute bargain.
Regarding your other point about them not catering to fan tastes, I've been a SCORE customer since 1997 and the overriding impression I've gotten of them during that time is that they seriously, seriously care about the people who buy their product and the opinions of said people. Sure, I know it's a business but I don't know of another adult company that runs its organisation as much like a fan community as SCORE does. It really does feel like one big family and I'm convinced that the fan input has a major bearing on what they decide to do.
If I had one criticism it's that I wish they shot 'harder' stuff but, then, that's not what they're about, I know. Thankfully, there are more than enough 'SCORE' girls who also shoot for other companies and aren't afraid to do bukkakes, gangbangs etc.

From what I see with our Score DVD sales for the last two years at least their MILF releases sell way better than their bog boob releases. If that's true for other retailers too, it makes sense for them to make more MILF releases and less big boob ones.

I'm sure SCORE is a good company that cares about it's customers but like I said I'm okay with not being a fan of most of their current stuff. It's tough times in the porno biz these days and if the MILF and BBW stuff works works for them that's great. Besides, like I mentioned before the type of girls that I tend to like aren't as plentiful as they used to be. The days of the girls like Wendy Whoppers and Tiffany Towers has mostly passed.
I haven't totally written SCORE off anyway...They still have a catalog of older stuff I'd like to see get released to retailers. For example MAXIMUM LINSEY starring Linsey Dawn McKenzie is finally being released to retailers and I've been waiting for that DVD for a long time.

Since this a thread on paying for/buying porn...
Here's something I often wondered about...Why do DVDs from certain studios hold their value/selling price for so long and other studios if you wait about 3 months you can buy it for about half price on certain sites?
Another thing I noticed and wondered about...Back when I used to rent movies from adult stores most of them would buy multiple DVD of a tile from certain studios and some studios like JULES JORDAN they'd almost always only have one or two copies for rent/sale. This wasn't true of every shop but most of them. The JJ stuff wouldn't stay in the shop long because someone would buy it but most of the shops still would never increase their orders of the JJ stuff. This also went on with the EVIL ANGEL stuff also to a certain extent.

Higher quality studios keep selling for the higher price, so there is no reason to discount them.
Stores in my experience usually only buy a few pieces of each title. A lot of them have standing orders with their suppliers to buy 1 or 2 of each new title and they need the shelfspace, so they don't reorder older titles.

^ That's probably the thing with SCORE - their DVDs sell at the asking price, so there's no need to discount. Must admit, I'm often tempted - I really want Tits & Tugs 9 - but haven't given in as yet.

Apologies for Wall o Text..
I guess the early JJ gonzo vids were so groundbreaking that they are something special.
But also seems back then the scenes were a bit more scenarios and the lead-ins lead into the scene, eg..
Posted in the The ass, moments that make you go 'wow'
and outfits were kept on eg..
Posted in the Ryan Conner or Alexis Texas?..
Whereas today though admittedly haven't seen any of JJs recent DVDs its more a tease scene for the camera, then indoors naked and sex bed/couch and facial..
And again there for example the Ryan Conner finish with cum on glass table was amazing!
I think DIGITAL PLAYGROUND is just gonzo wrapped in a feature, with from what I have seen nearly all sex scenes again naked couch/bed and facial?
I am not looking for long stories or acting just erotic scenarios that are maintained throughout the scene..
Hate to pick on JJ more but two examples I have mentioned before are Peep Show and Anal Boot Camp..
1st thoughts here Jules Jordan Video - Upcoming Releases and more detail here Jules Jordan Video - Upcoming Releases..
In that DVDs titled Peep Show should have girls having sex in a Peep Show aka sleazy spots - strip clubs, sex shops, peep shows not more naked lounge facial, and that DVDs titled Anal Boot Camp could have girls doing anal in a boot camp much like ActionGirls.com with anal, not girls naked in the lounge with a girl out of place, though hot, dressed in army uniform?

I still buy stuff. I still watch some of the free stuff. Many times the free stuff leads me to buying stuff.
I plan to do some major purging of my porn stash pretty soon. I have a lot of stuff that simply lost their edge/appeal. I have so many DVDs that I bought just for one girl/scene. As I bought more stuff I've gotten better stuff with that particular performer in. For example...I was crazy over Kelly Divine when I first came across her. I bought lots of DVDs just because she was in the movie and I have lots of stuff with her early in her career. But those DVDs are worthless to me now and I'll probably never watch them again because Kelly Divine of recent years is soooo much better than Kelly early in her career. Kelly was a good performer early in her career but Kelly in later years is fantastic in my opinion so I'll never watch the "good" again when the "fantastic" is within reach.
Then there are examples where it's mostly about looks. Example: Shopie Dee. I was a big Sophie Dee fan early in her career and thought she was so cute. I won't go back and watch her early work because because Sophie of today with a bigger boobs and a bit thicker is incredibly sexy. Plus her performances are so much better now than back then. There was actually a time when Sophie didn't/wouldn't do anal. Most of her old stuff will be tossed.
Lastly, I have DVDs that I bought simply because I saw a girl do a scene in a movie tht blew me away and I bought other movies with her in it expecting the same level of performance and was totally let down time after time. Certain directors can get a great performance out of some girls and some directors can't. I have no desire to watch the so-so performances from certain girls, so those will be tossed.

I feel like the industry in general has played a large part in that.
From the late 90's through to the mid-late 2000's the market was absolutely flooded. A huge chunk of that was poor or mediocre product that was made by producers/studios who didn't care. Audiences, in far too many cases, were taught that the product was disposable by the producers themselves. To make it worse, they were labelled with a premium retail price.
So now, even after the crucible of the late 2000's that shed the business of so many substandard producers/studios, there's essentially a generation of viewers who can't take it seriously and are incapable of seeing any real value in the product.
At least, that's how I see it after being in and close to the business for 13 years.

The reason that pirating has become an epidemic is simply down to the worldwide stigma of porn. Regardless of how any place in the world views the subject of porn or adult performers or the movies themselves, the people who buy the movies are always horrified to have "them" find out that they do.
The technological advances have now made it much easier for anyone to download and stream right from home. No discs or tapes to hide, and computers can be cleaned of offending material quickly, especially if you live with non-technically-minded people who don't know how to find out what sites you have been to and what you have downloaded, etc.
The other side of the coin, and why I am largely not able to buy porn anymore, is that the quality has taken a nosedive and/or the erotic content I desire has been supplanted by extreme content that turns me on about as much as castration.
If they started releasing more Blu-ray product and less of these awful HD downloads, I would be able to see more titles. But I have grown too tired with this online-only stuff, and DVD is too low resolution. That's just where I stand, and I know I'm the only person that cares about that.
Even so, I really think if we could get a bunch of companies to start going back to disc (DVD or Blu-ray) releases and to start putting delays on downloadable and streaming versions of content, more people would buy disc releases, and these companies would make more money. Even now, the labels that delay putting releases online and release only on disc seem to be doing better than those that are online-only.

I'm not sure that porn even needs to exist anymore in its present form. We have over four decades of back catalogue spanning almost any desire or fetish that you could possibly be into. I think we have documented enough human sexuality, you guys.
