I started this thread because I was curious why someone would do something that might alienate their established fan base and thus negatively impact their career. Honestly, I feel sorry for Monique. She's working for a company that nobody seems to like. She could probably make a whole lot more money as a "free agent." And, as pretty as she is, she seems to have self esteem issues.
i don't think monique's getting these tattoos as a way to get out of porn, she signed her new 2 year contract with vivid after she started getting these tattoos and she said in an interview in july how happy she was with vivid.
Im gonna tell you the God's honest truth, every porn chick I have ever known has had self esteem issues, do you know what seperates the beautiful people from the average? self doubt, they go the extra mile and do really stupid things (steroids, implants, eating disorders) to try to be what they think people want.

Sorry to be off topic on this one. Speaking of DEICIDE,do you have an inverted cross tattoed on your forhead? Glen Benton has one. That attention seeking whore should have ended his life on his 33rd birthday like he promised. What a poser! As much as GLEN likes to piss people off,he happens to have a great sense of humour, and I'm starting to like him now. Stench of Redemption rocks,Its their best album since LEGION.
Once again I'm sorry for getting a bit off topic on this one.
If there in the business of selling the look of there bodies then this could cost them a lot more then $55 bucks. I know I had a lot of girls I really wanted to book shot down because of tattoos as the companies say that the majority of men and women do not like the look of a tattoo covering a hot looking body. I just wonder how many other directors and photographers would have to pass them by as well. Yani Z
For me tattoos are rarely sexy on men or women. I associate tattoos with the criminal, the homeless, the scum and the trailer park crowds and that kills the fantasy. The trend seems to be moving away from the tiny and cute to bigger (like Kelsey Michaels' DNR tattoo on her back) and uglier (like Janine's)
Contract companies must have a clause in performer contracts requiring permission (or give compensation or a way out) before anyone dramatically alters their image.
But to each their own. If we don't like the look we won't buy the video.

Something tells me they don't have such clauses. And, even if they did, are they really going to terminate the contract over a tattoo? - Probably not. What would make far more sense would be to structure the contract with various "performance" incentives, one of which would be for remaining tattoo free. A girl's going to think twice about getting a tattoo if it's going to cost her $5,000 in bonus compensation.
Yes the laser treatment hurts but it only last for 2 minutes. I don't have to try to do it without the analgestic lotion to know that I never want another tattoo. The cost of the whole treatment teach a clear enough lesson. it takes about 6 to 8 treatments for my tattoo

Katja, you're probably the most qualified person to speak on this subject. Do you think that removing the tattoos will improve your career? If so, would you advise other young women thinking of going into the field against getting tattoos?
I can only speak for myself here but in my eyes tattoos are a big risk. At the moment you're getting them, it all makes sense to you but think about in 10 years (and that's a fucking long time) maybe you don't want to be reminded of certain things, you don't like it anymore or your personal situation changes. If you're getting a very visible tattoo on your forearm, maybe now in porn it doesn't matter but what aboout in 6 or 7 or 10 years you're working in an office you will be forced to wear long sleeve shirts every day, summer and winter. I love wearing tank tops but I couldn't do so working a regular job because of my tattoo.
Mainly I'm getting mine removed because I think it hurts my career. I'm not considered for certain jobs because some companies have a no tattoo policy or simply just prefer models without ink
