Im really into fitness girls and Im wondering why there are so few of them in porn. I know there are a few who are near that ball park like Devon Micheals and Jewels Jade. THe visual of seeing these awesome bodies get pounded would be awesome. So my question is: why so few of them (almost none)? Is there not enough demand for them, not enough supply, or both?

^^^ I dont know as much as I should about how the business of the NPC competitions work, but particularly if you are not a pro I dont think they are doing any better than pornstars. (and very possibly doing worse) . And not many people are lucky enough to get sponsors. Also, there have got to be women out there that really like to workout and stay in good shape but dont like to compete. Yeah you guys are listing some of the most fit women in porn. Janet Mason has done contests, gina west actually used to be a fairly well known fitness model back in the late 90s/ early 2000s. But is past her prime and doesnt shoot much. Shay Fox did some competing. I liked her in the first 3 scenes she ever filmed for Naughty America, but she then got too soft and it looks like she botoxed her lips. Most fit girls that get into porn - it seems like they either get to soft or dont last long. You guys need to go watch a Samantha Kelly webcam show and then you will see what Im talking about :)

^I agree with the OP that there's a real deficit of this type of female performer in porn. It's too bad that Sophia Fiore didn't stick around. I wouldn't agree that Jewels Jade is merely "near the ball park" though. She's very fit.
Yeah, it seems to be one of the few types of women in porn there isn't much demand for. You got your petites/spinners, bbw's, curvy/big ass girls, but not much in the way of athletic/toned. The only ones I can think of are Silvia Sage and Ariel X. There are others who clearly work out and stay in shape like Karlie Montana, Ryan Ryans etc. But nobody who seems "combat ready" as it were.

My guess (and it's only a guess), is that there is not enough demand. "Fit" seems to translate into "buff" and and when fit means masculine muscles, and a masculine look, I believe it tends to intimidate and emasculate more porn consumers than it attracts. If "fit" were to mean a good BMI score and no flab, I would think it would be consideered very popular. Fit (to me):
I think one of the answers guys are missing is simply TIME. Shooting porn often takes hours and for a regular girl squeezing in an hour workout a couple times a week might not be a problem. Girls with this type of body have to be in the gym or training just about everyday. Now I know sex can be quite a workout but it not really the kind they need. After a long day on the set which could be up to 10 hours+ do you really think most would be ready to then hit the gym for a hard workout more than likely not.
That is a possibility. I see a lot of these guys on message boards calling these girls "men" , when they look nothing like men. Which tells me they must be intimidated by them. In order to hide their intimidation, they call them names. But there is only one thing that doesnt make sense. B/G Porn consumers have no problem seeing pornstars having sex with men who in many cases have much larger dicks. In some cases they are having gangbangs and blowbangs, which are acts of sex that most porn consumers will never experience. These female pornstars are alpha females in some sense anyway. And yet they feel some sort of insecurity at the thought of a woman that rivals them in strength and muscle size?
Perhaps the serious fitness/muscle women have different aspirations than porn, similar to models vs. pornstars. If she is going to put in all the work to develop a superb physique, why "waste" it on porn, where her body will go unnoticed and unappreciated. And some viewers do have an aversion to muscular/built women. There are fitness/FBB video studios sucha as Aziani Iron, which venture into nudity/hardcore, and they have a much different style than porn, really showcasing the women's assets. Maybe with the right director and studio, mainstream porn could do it justice. But not just another cookie-cutter pornscene.
First of all, there's very few of those types of women in the general population to begin with. Plus, I think the type of women who put that much effort into working out and eating well 24 hours a day tend to be "straight edge" types who aren't going to be into having sex on camera for money. I'm just thankful when one of them does decide to make porn for our enjoyment. One of my favorite pornstars of all time was Cherokee (the short latina one). Devon Michaels and Janet Mason were awesome as well. As far as currently active stars go, I love Kendra Lust and Brandi Love.
True. Staying in contest quality shape and maintaining a porn schedule like Lisa Ann had would be a serious challenge, and maybe impossible. Luckily I think most pornstars including Lisa Ann shoot too many scenes anyway. Having the schedule of Jezabel Vessir I think would be doable. And while contest shape is the ideal, I wouldnt mind offseason shape either, and in some ways offseason shape would be better and would be easier to maintain.

Has nothing to do with insecurity but by your definition of fit. What you are calling fit is too muscular for a lot of guys including me! I'd say Franceska Jaimes is about at the limit for what I call fit and in some of her scenes dangers on getting to muscular. It's all about the look. Usually when girls get fit they loose the best part of their body i.e. boobs and that is a big turn off to me. To me Chloe Amour, Janice Griffith, Jaime Edmondson, Angel Dark, is what I think of as fit even though they may not be because their bodies looks nice and toned and has the curves in all the right places. So that is your problem you're looking for Ms Olympia in the wrong place! p.s. You actually ever see any pics of Ms Olympia contestants in the off season?
