Oh yeah, Joey Silvera was in it too. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I knew that they were all actors/performers, and I couldn't believe that could be your job. And that was just for the women. When you've never been laid and you're trying to figure out how to go about it, it just struck me as amazing that all those guys got up thhat day, and knew they were going to film a porno, and that they would get laid. I figured that all the men in porn just worked for free! Anyways, both Chad and Eddie were afraid to get caught with the Tape, so I just held onto it. Kept it hidden in my room. I wonder how many I cranked out to that one? Hundreds and hundreds I'd be willing to bet. I remember the plot. telephone operators were worried they would soon lose their jobs to an automated computer system. Remember actual telephone operators? God, that was a while ago. I have no clue what the name of my first porn movie was -- it was copied from friend to friend and notorious enough in my circles for a select group of folks to copy the audio to cassette tape and play it in the car. They all called it "The Baron," but the real title was something way less cool. It was German, probably early 90s, and involved a rich Baron who lived in a mansion, wore a white sports-casual suit with a t-shirt, and there was double crossing afoot (I know this because someone gets killed and left floating in a pool). There were also watersports, and various other shenanigans. Some German guy who spoke no English read the narrative off a piece of paper, pausing at all the wrong moments, and creating an epic masterpiece without even realising it. Click to expand I'm kind of curious as to how you would have done this given that unlike film neither Betamax nor VHS tapes allowed you to see any images on the surface. I guess you could pick the starting point by where the tape was stopped, but I'm curious to know as to how you would know much tape you need to remove from the spool in order to get the scene you wanted? It would seem like a lengthy trial and error process at best. [Link]

Anyway, I'd go to the very end of the scene and eject the VHS tape from the player. I'd put a little bit of scotch tape on the original VHS tape and then put the VHS back into the player. I'd rewind the tape to about a minute or two before the scene starts, then eject the VHS tape again. I'd carefully cut the tape on the original, and cut the tape on the copy spool and connect the original tape to the tape on the copy spool and scotch tape them together. Then I'd wind the copy spool by hand (using a pencil with a fat eraser pushed into the hole at the center of the spool), watching the "bump" made by the scotch tape on the original tape to show the end of the scene (through the window of the cassette) go around and around. When the piece of scotch tape placed to signify the end of the scene showed that it was almost there, I'd slow down until I reached the scotch tape, then I'd cut. I'd fasten the spliced end by taping both sides. I learned that if you don't tape both sides, the tape stands a really good chance of getting caught up in the VCR machinery and jamming. I know it was wrong, and I certainly regret doing it, but I was young, horny and broke. And this was back in the day when a VCR cost me over 1 month's salary, so I could only afford 1 machine.
