Even if he has a valid opinion about the way the industry operates, there's no way he comes out of this looking particularly good. For most it's just going to be seen as someone throwing a tantrum at not having won. There have already been a few performers sub-tweeting generally that mock people who complain about not getting an award (and I suspect most are referencing him)

He's nowhere near the only person complaining about not getting an award. I mean, the last page of this thread is people complaining about someone not getting an award (and said someone wasn't happy either, she just wasn't as upfront about it as some others have been). Hell, there's even people in brand new award categories complaining about having lost (go take a gander at what's happening with some of the BBW performer of the year nominees sniping at the winner).
To be honest, he kinda does this every year, and then every year he calms down after a day or two, and then it's back to normal.

Remy was having some feud with Riley Reid on Twitter on her AVN Awards.

You can't just sit there and say:
immediately after saying:
Either they are facts or they aren't. Either it's "just your opinion" or "there can be no debate, opinion is irrelevant". I'm not saying your opinion isn't a valid opinion, because it absolutely is. I'm just saying it's not a fact. Adriana having a better year than Riley is an opinion. Megan having a better year than Abella is an opinion. Neither of those things are facts.

Remy's been feuding with Riley for a couple months now. I think it started with Remy unfollowing Riley and Riley getting upset about it, and now Remy is accusing Riley of copying her on social media.

And both Shawshank and Forrest Gump dealt with race more sincerely, realistically, and effectively than PF did. I love PF and duly recognize it as a classic and masterpiece, but so is Forrest Gump (a classic, and arguably Zemeckis's masterpiece, next to Back to the Future) which even hardened cineaste cynics would have to admit is more emotionally powerful. PF is not really emotionally powerful. No one cried over anything happening in a QT movie, except maybe in Django. That got pretty heavy with the scene where a man was eaten by vicious dogs. But apart from that, the fact is quite clear the Academy is more interested in emotional heft of drama, rather than the shock value QT is more known for. In my book Forrest Gump at Jenny's grave is one of the most emotionally powerful moments in this past generation of film. It makes sense that the Academy would have been more biased in favor of that than Pulp Fiction. Even if I would recognize PF as being the greater film.
Academy is also more likely to award the film that looks like it takes a lot of work by huge teams of people in front and behind the camera. Much of the brilliance of QT's work is that it comes off so effortless, which goes to your point it is less cinematic and more like a play.

My Pulp Fiction/Forest Gump analogy wasn't actually meant to spark a debate on the merits of those two films. It was just meant to highlight that awards are handed out by fallible institutions, so treating them as some kind of final word on what is actually the best of anything is kind of silly. So I'll swap it out with another: How Green Was My Valley winning over Citizen Kane. Cue John Ford defenders in five... four... three... two... one...

When you say Manuel & Prince are disliked by so many viewers you mean some fans on ADT right? If Manuel has no fans why is the highest paid male in the industry and gets hired by the top directors?Anyways back on topic Adrianna got robbed big time.

^ Let's just say a very vocal minority of critics. Insofar as any male talent are hated on, I can't think of any names (popular names), which catch more flack than Manuel and Prince. It's just the cost of bein a boss. Popularity has a price. Now do I think these haters are having a significant impact on the AVN voters? No, not really. I'm just saying if there were haters among the voters, just enough to hurt either of their chances of winning versus guys who don't rock the boat, it only reflects a small slice of the general audiences.
This sort of underscores my point about the limited amount of voters being problematic. It would only take 2 or 3 of the 23 voters who are haters to throw the whole balance out of wack. It doesn't suggest AVN is very biased, just exclusive and small and thus much more subject to the influence of bias from just a few haters.
Think about it. If there's only 23 voters, or essentially judges, and just 2 of them really dont like you, then you're fucked and won't ever win. That's a huge handicap, even though it's only 2 haters.

If the AVN want to have dozens of categories with a whole bunch of nominations for each one; how can 23 voters even be realistic? Do these 23 watch 1000 scenes, remember them all, and know who to vote for? seems like many times they would just end up voting for who they know, personally are friends with, or things like that.
There has to be more than 23 people in the porn industry that know enough to be able to cast votes.

The voters don't vote in every category. So theoretically, a category can be reviewed by a much smaller panel and it's not clear if there must be a minimum amount of voters.

Yeah another good point.
Such a small voting pool makes it seem more like judges of a contest. But a contest is judged by a panel who presumably witness or observe all the contestants. At least that is how most contests or games go.
What AVN voters represent is a small clique who cannot possibly manage seeing every or even most major porn releases. I'm definitely okay with having conflict of opinion with where the votes go and who wins. I accept subjective differing. But it's troublesome that such a huge field is judged by so few, making the results much more the whim of fickle partiality or bias.
With that said, I don't quite grasp Prince Yahshuas outrage, because Flash Brown took a big award, and Lansky got a big prize which most people, even if they aren't partial to his work, could still admit was hard earned. It's not easy to make a mark like he has where people can look at your work and automatically see how it is distinguished, not just in what he's done with Blacked but Tushy as well.

Yeah, I trust that most voters wind up leaving most voting categories blank. Just like I will probably do at the end of this year.

The last thing that I'll say on the subject is that Forrest Gump is warmed over dog shit.
On the subject of 23 people judging hundreds of scenes in dozens of categories, I'm reminded of Eve Angel. Eve is one of my favorite performers of all time, and one of the most beautiful women in the history of porn. In 2009, she won Foreign POTY. In 2008, she appeared in 25 movies, one of which was a non-sex role, three masturbation scenes, and the rest girl/girl. As I said, she's one of my favorite performers ever, but the only logical explanation for her win is that the voters simply drew her name from a hat.

I see nothing inherently wrong with 23 voters. There is no magic perfect number.
Riley Reid and Abella Danger are way more engaging performers than Adriana Chechik and Megan Rain, who may do the circus acts but it's all so mechanical and industrial.
Just my thoughts.

I can certainly see how someone could feel that way when comparing. I would expect Abella will get a POTY sometime in the next 2 - 3 years. She is money and has that "it" factor that could lead to her being very well known outside of porn if she keeps her head together and chooses to be in porn long term.

I like this...reminiscent of The Great Lindsay Lohan–Hilary Duff Feud from years back. It might actually be good for business.
Riley is a deserving winner, I just thought Sara Luvv could have gotten a nomination. Maybe next year - it seems like you do have to put your time in.
Mick Blue has put his time in - but was this really his best year?

Couldn't disagree more. I know Shawshank is beloved because of its particularly American form of corn but it is pedestrian in cinematic terms. And I'm not a particularly big fan of Pulp Fiction. Forest Gump I actively dislike, as does the original author.

Regardless, who really takes awards seriously, let alone porn awards. I know it is nice when someone we like wins and I realize it must be nice for a performer or director to be recognized in front of their peers but I can't help but think of this scene.
Ultimately, who remembers who won best performer back in 1979, 1985, 1990, 2001? But we remember Annette Haven, John Leslie, Rocco, Belladonna. That's what counts.

Gump would lose considerably more than Pulp Fiction if it were to be adapted for the stage. Shawshank wouldn't lose as much as Gump, but it too would suffer more than Pulp Fiction. When I evaluate a film's value as cinema specifically, I always ask myself: How much of this film's value derives from it being a movie as opposed to a play or novel? I don't downplay good dialogue, acting, etc. but those aren't qualities that are unique to film. Now, within the context of me valuing all three of the movies mentioned (you don't and so of course you'd approach this differently), I'm suggesting that the value of Pulp Fiction is less dependent on whatever uniquely filmic qualities it has than are the other two films.

I doubt I'm the only one who feels she was more worthy of the award last time (2016) than this time around (2017).
