OK, fine. lol Those pants were the fault of me and Sarah Doom. We had the task of buying clothes for the girls the last few years. With having the swine flu followed immediately by a 10-day trip out of town, and leaving for Christmas, I didn't spend as much time shopping as I should have. When we finally did go out, we bought those pants along with other stuff. Look how amazing Madison looks on the SAME day because her tshirt is cut off and she pulled the pant waist down below her hip bones. Anyway, John hated the tight black pants, so we bought the little red short lingerie things at one of those vendor booths at the back of the show. See... and you guys were complaining about those booths. LOL When you have bigger curvy girls like Kelly Divine and Sophie Dee, small girls like Madison Parker and Tarra White and Asa Akira (even smaller!!!), and girls in between like Bobbi Starr, it's hard to find sexy clothes that will flatter all body types. All of these girls are gorgeous. They just have different body types. And John would have to fire me before I'd dress them in fishnets, gstrings and bikini tops. They deserve to look sexy, not trashy. /rant. ;)

Many of your shots show an orange tinge due to the incandescent lighting. If you shoot wide open, you should be using auto white balance instead of flash white balance. The flash white balance is for when the flash or strobe is the dominant source of lighting in the shot. Also watching how you shoot sometimes, do you turn off E-TTL and use regular TTL since you sometimes shoot directly with your lightsphere? It may explain any underexposure that you may have in your shots. If you use the cloudy lightsphere, buy one of those metal reflectors to put in it for when you need to shoot continuously for action since less light is wasted.
^ Thanks! I've been wondering if I should just switch to a clear lightsphere instead of the cloudy. The metal cap sounds like a good idea. As for the tint you see, that's actually a personal preference of mine. I like the warmth in the shots, which I don't get w/ AWB. At these shows, the only time I feel the need to switch to AWB is at the Wicked booth. As you mentioned in your thread, that wasn't much of an issue this year. "Hi, I'm Kirsten Price, and we're at the Palms..." SHUT UP!!!
Good Lord, the last thing anybody needs to see is an animated DVD menu with me dancing seductively in the background. But if it must be done, N for Nut sounds much pornier.

Hey it was great to meet you briefly when I was waiting to meet fellow canadian Shyla Stylez. When you got my attention I recognized you right away. Then as i walked around after meeting her I never had the pleasure of running into you again.
Sasha Grey Sasha delivered the Keynote Speech on Friday. After the interview which followed, I congratulated Sasha on my way out. She took one look at me and said, with that adorable smirk, "Nice lipstick." When I responded with a look of confusion, Sasha reached out and cradled my cheek, then used her thumb to rub away Ava Rose's lipstick stain. In hindsight, I probably should've come up with a much cooler reply than, "Gee, thanks!"
Sara Sloane One of my favorite AEE moments of all time occurred on Friday, at Sara's booth. As I walked up to the end of her line, I noticed some dude talking nonsense to her from outside of the line. I couldn't hear what he was saying over the loud noise from neighboring booths, but I got the sense he was asking/telling her to do something, like pose for a picture or whatever. Problem is, Sara was right in the middle of meeting a fan who was in line. So here's the conversation that unfolded between Sara and D-Bag. Sara: "But I don't know you. I don't know who you are! These are my fans. I'm talking to them right now." (Sara turns her attention towards fan at front of line.) D-Bag: "Blah blah blah no idea blah blah blah bitch blah blah blah how to act." (Again, I was too far away to hear the guy clearly. This is just a rough guess based on D-Bag's body language.) Sara: "You're being rude! You stand there and interrupt this man right here. They're here to see me, and you just talk right over them! You need to leave." D-Bag: "Blah blah blah how it works blah blah blah bitch blah blah blah dumb bitch." Sara: (Turns and starts walking around her table) "You need to LEAVE! How dare you talk to me like that?! You're an ASSHOLE!" At this point, security finally showed up and escorted D-Bag away from the booth. Sara returned quickly, slightly frazzled, and I led a round of applause that the others quickly joined in on. She apologized to each of us for her outburst. When my turn came up, Sara again started to apologize for her behavior. I replied, "No no no, you got it wrong - that was the greatest thing I've ever seen a performer do at these shows. You were fucking awesome." Sara immediately melted into a sweet-as-hell smile and threw her arms around me. Being a guy, I can't help but think if I played my cards just right at that exact moment, I could've scored. Of course, knowing my luck, any attempt like that would've just made me her next punching bag. Which would've been hot.
Lexi Love For some reason or another, I didn't get to spend nearly as much time with Lexi as I have at past events. Of course, it was good to see the fans keeping her busy all weekend long. She deserves it. Edited by - Anime Nut on 1/13/2010 7:11:57 AM

This was taken Friday wasn't it? She looked so hot then, Saturday she was more casual dressed. I almost did not recognize her until I looked at the tattoo when I walked over to the A&E booth. How much was your camera Anime? Damn that thing must be quite the gem to carry around.
^ Yup, I'm still on Friday. Almost done, though. My camera (body, lens, flash, etc) was about $2500. I don't remember the exact total, since I didn't buy all of it at the same time. Could probably be bought for much cheaper today.

There is no "regular" TTL on Canon digital cameras--just E-TTL. There are two flash metering patterns available: evaluative and center-weighted. Back when I was using Canon, I've always used the center-weighted pattern, since it produced more consistent flash exposures. The evaluative pattern is heavily biased towards the selected focusing point. I like the warmer tinge in the background as well.

The main pics so far in this thread where your lighting choice seemed "off" to me are the Katie St. Ives ones (and maybe the Katie Cox and Janie Summers ones). Jeez - You're lucky you weren't standing 5 feet away from that monitor ALL 4 days!!! I love the folks at Wicked, but I almost accidentally turned the volume down a bit a couple of the times when their booth was abandoned. Oh, and love EVERYTHING about your Sara Sloane story. Yes, you probably could have scored! And I NEVER say that to a 'fan'. :)
Joey Silvera, Tricia Devereaux, & John Stagliano I'm hoping Tricia will shed some light on what type of pictures Joey was showing them. Until then, I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's a photo retrospective of his hairstyles and denim shirts over the years.

John and I were lovingly yelling at Joey for missing the annual group photo shot. Joey was showing us the text he had received before it from his female companion for the week asking him to go hang out with him. Somewhere, there was a typical "i dunno" from Joey in there somewhere.
Kelly Nichols & Angela Stone I was so enamored and focused on snapping candids of Joey Silvera & Buttman that I didn't even notice Kelly standing off to the side. This man had to tap my shoulder and clue me in. Once again, I suck.
Belladonna is still a beautfiul woman. I saw her in person once in NYC and she put all of the other pretty women on the street to shame and she was just wearing jeans and a wife-beater. This was back when she had her buzzcut hairdo, too. She was stunning. She fucking commanded the sidewalk. Every single man turned to look at her, including two Hasids.
Angela Stone, Joey Silvera, & John Stagliano Since I'd never properly met John before, I had to work up a lot of guts to take this shot. I kept worrying I'd say the wrong thing, and I did not wanna make a bad first impression on a personal hero.
Great photos, once again, Mr Nut.
