^Unexpected return. She was kind of a big name mostly in the late 2000s on Brazzers. Watching her back is something I didn't believe for this year. Let's see who could be the enxt one!!!
She has an upcoming scene with " Sandy ", yes another legend, for loveherfeet. So we had comeback from Lexi Stone, Capri cavanni. I know Rebeca Linares and Eva Angelina are back but have not shot a lesbian scene yet.
^Even though a lot of people hate the platform (I'm mostly supportive of any platform which allows performers to boost their revenue streams), I've noticed that the proliferation of OnlyFans has spurred quite a few legacy performers to dip their toe back into the industry. I don't necessarily think it will bring about a new 'Golden Age' of lesbian content, but I do think it's opened up a pathway for some of those great G/G stars to return.

MOD: The endless stream of people bitching about OnlyFans in threads has gotten old and makes it hard for people to have discussions. If you need to bitch about OnlyFans, there is literally a thread to do so here.. Posts made that are complaints that so and so are only on OF, I won't sub to OF, etc will be removed and a minimum of a seven day vacation will be handed out.
I overlooked it a few days ago, but Sinn Sage was back for Girlsway/ADT this last week with Charlie Ford. Always worth checking Sinn out, as she never disappoints.
Sandy! What a surprise! I just went to the site and she looks very good.
She's very closely associated with Viv Thomas, yet interesting was not in the original Pink Velvet trilogy. As far as I'm concerned, she's definitely part of the g/g porn pantheon.
Alright continuing my AVN Top 500 reviews, this is a review of Where The Boys Aren't #1, which is ranked #14 on AVN's 500 best porn movies (as of 2005). That's right, the one that started the legendary WTBA series. I feel like this is doing some proper girl/girl porn archeology, as this one was released in 1989! I'm splitting this review into three parts because otherwise it's just too long. This first part will make some general remarks about the movie, and review the first scene of five.
As I'm not familiar with any of the women (this was a decade before I started watching porn), I'll try my best to identify them, but will probably make some mistakes. I think the one on the bottom left is Tori Welles (or Torry Welles as her name is spelled here), top left is Barbara Dare, and top right is April West.
I actually really like this cover art. The women look very good, the outfits are cute and sexy without being very provocative at all. The color and composition -- there's just something really warm and pleasing about it.
3 things to note:
1. My expectations are pretty low, but I'm pleasantly surprised. There are some very good performances even by modern standards. 2. A couple of guys are in every scene (Paul Thomas and Joey Silvera) with non-sex roles. They support an interesting meta-story. 3. 80s big hair! You can like or dislike them as a matter of subjective taste, but they are just objectively not good for g/g porn, as they block out the view for oral.
Of course g/g scenes existed before this movie, but perhaps they were quite rare? I say this because the plot of the movie seems to hint at this. Of course the plot may be just for comedic purpose.
Anyway, we start with porn director Paul Thomas (left, playing himself) and his script writer played by Joey Silvera (sitting). Joey has written a script with only hetero sex. The problem is that while the women are here, none of the guys have shown up, and Paul is about to pull his hair out (back in those days even the guys' hair were big).
One woman (I don't know who) shoves Paul up against the desk and melodramatically cries out, "What? No girl/girl? You KNOW I can't live without girl/girl!" It's pretty funny. Anyway, there's nothing to do but prepare and wait, so Paul and Joey hands out douches and enemas to the women.
We then go to Barbara Dare and Tori Welles getting their makeup done. The cover art specifically says "Introducing Tori Welles," so this is perhaps her very first scene, or at least one of the first. She's the gorgeous brunette on the bottom right, and will end up in the AVN Hall of Fame. Her scene partner Barbara (the blonde) is herself a 3 time AVN award winner. So I think from the very beginning WTBA was supposed to be this all-star production.
There's some very well written banter between them and the makeup artist, who at one point hilariously says "you wouldn't catch me dead down there" in regard to lesbian sex. Since the guys are not here, they practice their lines, and Barbara acts as the man and it's pretty funny.
Two big problems I have with this scene (and all scenes in this movie) are the fact that they are too short, and there's not good kissing. Still, there are some good parts. Tori first sucks on Barbara's breasts, and she very nicely licks her clit. Later Barbara sits on her face, but the angle is not very good.
Then Barbara licks Tori. Note that I have deliberately picked screenshots where we get a pretty clear view. Very often the big hair from both women obscures the view. Overall I'd say Barbara''s oral is not as good as Tori's. She later uses a vibrator to penetrate Tori while licking her clit. One thing to note is that both women have really nice all-natural breasts (when did fake boobs got popular?). Overall an OK scene, not that bad, not that good either.
After that, we go back to Paul's office. As the guys are still not there -- I guess the title "Where the Boys Aren't" should be taken in its most literal sense -- Paul tries to talk Joey into writing a few girl/girl scenes. Joey plays the big shot artist who is taking a principled stand, "I don't write girl/girl. Girl/Girl is stupid."
That's it for now. Tomorrow I'll post part two of the review, covering scene 2 and 3.
I still don't know which Girl/Girl series from the 90s would be considered the best, if Where the boys aren't or No man's land. The first one had less entries, but I think it had a better cast, although No man's land 10 had an incredible ensemble of performers, including Nina Hartley and Felecia!!! But WTBA had many movies with janine, Dyanna Lauren and Jenteal and the sixth and seventh entry had an amazing casting too!!! For me, the decilne of Where the boys aren't took place when Jenna Jameson entered th picture. I know she's great, but I don't like any of her movies. And things where worst with the Tera Patrick ones.
I would love to see a complete review of the WTBA series, but you're just going for the list project, so nevermind. Love this review and I'm expecting the others two with lots of interest.

Despite the info on the box cover, remember April West as the new face in this movie. She was decent, but didn't hang around very long. As someone above mentioned, Barbara Dare was a good g/g performer. Bruce Seven's g/g movies came out long before WTBA series was created. I consider him the father of g/g porn. I remember this movie as ok. Things got better very soon with Jamie Summers coming on the scene in WTBA 2.
Thanks for the kind words about my review! Jenna Jameson's only appearance is in #7 (a pretty good scene with Janine), and #8 is still pretty good. What g/g movie did Bruce Seven direct before WTBA came out in 1989?
OK this is part 2 of my review of the classic Where the Boys Aren't. This one covers scene 2 and 3.
The director Paul Thomas continues to try to figure out what to do without men in his porno. Meanwhile he asks three girls to practice a scene set in a bar according to the existing script. From left to right, I believe they are Barbara Dare, Summer Rose, and Tori Welles.
Barbara and Tori are supposed to be men who approach Summer in the middle. Barbara pretends to be a man who aggressively comes onto Summer, who tries to fend him off, while Paul mutters in the background, "Wait a minute, this reads like a rape scene..." I think one of the themes of movie -- not always communicated clearly, and sometimes not to be taken too seriously -- is that the straight sex script actually kinda sucks; but since there are no men, the "spontaneous" sex scenes between the women actually turn out to be better again and again.
To me Summer is the best performer in this movie, as her oral sex on Tori here is just perfect by any standard. Licking her clit, sticking her tongue all the way inside Tori, and just burying her whole mouth inside Tori's tasty pussy -- it looks absolutely wonderful. Meanwhile Barbara sits on Tori's face, whose oral from below is also pretty good.
Later Tori and Barbara switch position while Rose uses a vibrator on Barbara. She also licks Barbara's clit while using the sex toy. Overall a very good threesome scene with some very nice oral. After the sex is done, Paul comes back, waving the script, telling them he got the re-write done for a girl/girl scene. They laugh and tell him they've already done the scene.
Next we move to poolside with Fallon (brunette) and April West (blonde). Instead of rehearsals turning into sex, here a pretty interesting conversation leads to sex. As they talk about how there are no guys available, and they will probably have to turn this into a g/g scene...
Fallon: Does every movie has to have a girl/girl scene? April: Yeah most of them do, but these aren't the kind of movie you want take home to show your mom.
I really laughed at this. Does April mean porn? Or porn that has sex with women? Anyway, they proceed to compliment each others' bodies. And then...
Fallon: When you look at me, are you interested? April: Yeah. Fallon: and... if we weren't in this business, would you do any thing about it? April: Probably not. Fallon: Me either. But since we are in it, why not? This is a chance.
I was really surprised with the honesty of this conversation. I remember seeing an interview with Julie Ashton (another major pornstar of the 90s for those who don't know) where she admits she's always been curious about women in her private livfe, but never had the courage to do anything about it, and it's porn that allows her to explore that aspect of their sexuality. So there's a definitely a ring of truth to this conversation.
Unfortunately, when it comes to sex, this is probably the weakest scene in the movie. While trying to kiss, they couldn't even line up their mouths. They do reciprocal oral, but neither looks all that good.
They even do some face-to-face tribbing! I didn't know this goes back to 1989. And yes it's just as bad back then. Again I want to note how both women have fantastic natural breasts. They then do some back and forth oral from behind, again not that good.
OK this is end of part 2 of the review. Tomorrow I'll post the final part.
Well, I was referring to the period when Jenna Jameson became the main star of the series, from the 14 to the 17 entires. It's true that she was in the seventh entry and the movie is great, one of the best in the series if you ask me. I don't consider Jenna the main problem of the decline in the series. it0s just that the director, Chi Chi Larue, got over with his excesses and made spm very flamboyant and over the top movies. How can't someone forget the male strippers in an allgirl orgy scene. But it just simply lose the interest for the sex in favour of fake kissing and tons of sexual toys. How unfortunate.
About Bruce Seven, he directed many lesbian mvoies in the 80s, mostly to the studio Lipstik Video. Then, in the 90s, he would direct many movies for Elegant Angel and create series lie Where the girls sweat and Buttslammers.

^This question has been asked once or twice and the scene that always springs to mind is Lacy Lennon & Kristen Scott in "Who on Earth HATES Massages". Lacy has multiple fingers inside Kristen and at about 19 minutes into the scene Lacy pulls them out and Kristen creams everywhere and then Lacy licks it up. https://members.adulttime.com/en/video/allgirlmassage/Who-On-Earth-HATES-Massages/169386
Hi guys sorry to bother but I'm planning a movie night today and tomorrow and I would some recommendations on lesbian porn movies I could watch! Just recommend what ever you think would be good for a porn movie night! 🤣 Thanks all!
^Ah, interesting question! Are you looking for individual scene recommendations? Or entire movies?
I'll hold off on specific scene recs because I could go on for pages . But in terms of full movies, I think these ones are good in terms of multiple good-to-great scenes.
Hi! Thank you for the recommendations! And yes I am looking for entire films, some years ago I always looked forward to the weekend to do some lesbian porn movies nights, and to watch two pr three each day. But with work and studying it became harder and harder, so anyways live goes on and now I have more free weekends again and there's nothing better than to get back to watch some lesbian porn films for my movies nights! Haha
It wasn't Tori's first surfacing because I remember - back then! - noticing that she and Barbara had a scene together, and nearly dying of excitement. And alas. I agree with your review, there are moments of sexiness, but if any series is a monument to how lost an opportunity the incredible hotness of 1990s era superstars was, it's WTBA. Each release caused me to weep harder. Someone mentioned the Tera Patrick ones being the worst - that may be true - consider the final scene of WTBA 18 (Vivid 2007), which features Tera, Lanny Barbie, Savanna Samson, Lacey Love, Monique Alexander, and Briana Banks. You couldn't assemble a group of hotter women - and yet. Nothing but tears.
Ah OK I forgot about the appearances by Jenna in the later entries of the WTBA series. It was around that time Pink Velvet by Viv Thomas came out, and it clearly signaled the dawn of a new age, and WTBA just wasn't that relevant any more. Also, thanks for the info on the 80s about Bruce Seven.
This is final part of my review of Where the Boys Aren't #1, covering scene 4 and 5.
The guys are still not showing up, and the director Paul Thomas is truly desperate now. He even tries to recruit some of the guys from the camera crew, but no takers. Then a very funny exchange follows.
Paul: Girls you must have a boyfriend. Girl 1: I'm a lesbian remember? Girl 2: I put a restraining order on mine. But there's my stepdad. Paul: That's right your stepdad! [pause] No we can't shoot that.
Anyway we go back to the poolside for another threesome. This is imo the second best scene in the movie after the Tori Welles/Summer Rose/Barbara Dare threesome. Here Tori and Summer first start having sex, then Fallon joins them. Tori looks so beautiful here.
More gorgeous natural breasts here, this time with Tori and Fallon. Anyway, Summer goes back between Tori's legs and it must feel quite warm and cozy there for her here, as she just gorgeously devours Tori again. Meanwhile Fallon sexily sucks on Tori's breasts.
Tori then sits on Fallon's face while Summer eagerly buries herself between Fallon's pussy lips this time -- like I said, she really is the best performer in this movie. Here Fallon also shows she can do much better than her mediocre performance with April West in the previous scene, as she energetically eats Tori's pussy from below. Then we finally get some of the best shots with Tori at the helm, as she beautifully sucks on Fallon's clit.
I've got to say the director Paul Thomas, in addition to competently playing a comedic role in the movie, also does a great job directing not one but two threesome scenes really well in this movie.
Giving it one last shot, Paul checks on Joey, who has been calling guys to come to the movie.
Paul: Where is Jerry? Joey: He can't get here today. He said he was a walrus. And he's invisible.
Joey still doesn't want to write a girl/girl scene, so Paul sends Barbara Dare and April West to convince him. Joey says girl/girl scenes are stupid and boring, but April says she thinks it's hot, and when she's on the road dancing, it's all the guys talk about. They do a demonstration for him.
I know I sound like a broken record, but once again, the breasts on both women are magnificent. April fucks Barbara with a vibrator, then eats her pussy (unfortunately there aren't many good closeup for this part).
They end the scene playing with a double-ended dildo. It has just occurred to me that until now toys are either pretty minor or completely absent in this movie. Hmm. In my mind toys were almost universal in the olden days. Are my memories playing tricks on me? Anyway, it's not bad, but personally I don't find it all that interesting.
The last part of the movie is interesting, as it stays with the story to the end. This is the end of the day, and Joey is stuck with the duty of handing out money. He grumbles to the women that he'll have to arrange some re-shoots once the guys show up, and proceeds to pay each them. For the camera crew and secretary, he decides to take them all out to dinner.
This was the era of porn that I first started watching and when you go back back and watch it now or even if you went back in say 2010 it is easy to see why GFF and their eventual copycats/rivals were so revolutionary. Scenes like these from movies like these really were the best of the best for that time and yet there were hundreds of scenes from GFF, Triangle, Sweetheart just in their first few years of existence that were way better than these.
The other interesting thing to me is the women that straddled both eras made some really great stuff in the post 2005 era. Rayveness, Melissa Monet, Julia Ann, Nina Hartley all had lots of great scenes in the new era and others like Inari Vachs, Dyanna Lauren, Shayla LaVeaux and Misty Rain only made short comebacks but their scenes were almost always very good. Misty Rain was a favorite of mine in the bad old days and she made a somewhat brief comeback in the early 2010s and had some really good scenes like in MDEC 36 with Jodi Taylor. She looked great and that scene was very good.
So it was never the women that were the main problem in the bad old days it was just that almost nobody recognized that there was a market for more authentic lesbian porn at that time. Dan O'Connell was a true visionary and all the Girlsways, AllHerLuvs, etc. really have him to thank for a large part of whatever success they have and are having.
I very much agree with you (nice shoutout to Shayla!), except to add that Viv Thomas and his films (Pink Velvet etc.) and girls (Jo, Sandra Shine, Eve, etc.) also played a role. According to IAFD, Women Seeking Women #1 came out in 2002, and Pink Velvet #1 came out in 2003. It took some time, but that was in fact a turning point.
Yeah, I have a bunch of the early GFF releases on DVD but the first WSW I have is #3 which came out in 2003 and the first Lesbian Seductions O/Y came out in 2005 which is about when they started ramping up there production. They released a bunch niche fetish stuff like the Hospital movies, a Lingerie movie and they even did a documentary movie about real life lesbians with them having sex (I have that one too it's interesting). Starting in the late 2000s for a few years they were releasing 4 DVDs a month which was 16 scenes a month.
Somebody else already offered up some info on this matter. I will, also, mention Seven directed the Ginger Lynn movies for Vivid. These were not in any way g/g exclusive movies, but did include some lesbian content.
great post. sums up a lot. One excellent example of the comeback phenomenon you mention is Dyanna's scene with Angie Savage in scene five of a movie called "Playful Pussies" (Aziani, 2017) which is a compilation of clips done for the somewhat-obscure label Aziani. Dyanna is a prime example of a smoking hot star whose potential was almost always subverted by old-school cinematographical decisions. I forgive all of it based on this one performance. Several scenes in that movie are periodic obsessions of mine, particularly the last one, featuring Nikita Denise and an obscure star named Tiffany Price whose story if you delve into it is...quite complicated, ha. She's very hot with Nikita, though, insanely so.

Happy 150th page everyone! It's thanks to every person here offering their opinions, critiques and recommendations that has kept this thread pretty consistently near the top of this forum. I know we might not all agree on everything said here but I like to think that we all respect each other and I'm proud to be part of it. Here's to the next 150...and beyond.
I know nothing about Ginger Lynn except having heard her name. Back in the late 90s, when the movie "Torn" came out, VCA actually put up some billboards around LA to promote it.
Taking a break from my AVN top 500 reviews, here's a brief review of a scene from Melissa Stratton's studio released on 1/10/25 (again, available on Adult Empire Unlimited). It's a very short one between she and Nicole Doshi. It's not the best, mostly because it's so short at about 10 minutes, but I'm a huge fan of both women, so it's of great interest to me.
Both women look wonderfully sexy, especially in their meshy bodysuit (or whatever they are called). The kissing is extremely sexy, with a lot of very hot tongue sucking.
Both women have large fake boobs that I find very hot, and both suck on each other's nipples hard. Melissa then starts to finger fuck Nicole with one then two fingers. Though her nails look painfully long, she's great at finger fucking.
The next part is the best part of the scene, as Melissa does the finger-tongue combo by licking and sucking Nicole's clit while fucking her with her fingers. It's very sexy and done really well. Later Nicole also eats Melissa's pussy, but the positioning/camerawork is just not good and we can't really get a good look. Later they waste some time on face-to-face tribbing.
Nice find of such an old photo! Yeah she definitely got some work done, especially on her face, but I think overall it's rather modest. It's interesting to note that in your pic you can see a hint of her ass. Below is a photo of her with Karlie Montana back in 2013 in the movie Tongue in Cheek.
That ass has always been magnificent. Most interestingly, at the start the scene the director Kevin Moore was chatting with her and Karlie. Sandy said she wanted to do fahsion modeling first, but every agent told her her ass was too big, and one of them told her she looked like a cow. Kevin literally cried out "Oh my god!"

Charlotte Stokely & Kenna James have been on the latest Bellesa Blind Date. Am I really contemplating signing up to a site for just ONE video (well 2, as I haven't seen the Charlotte/Victoria Voxxx scene yet)? Yes, yes I am. I'll be honest, Charlotte's "comeback" has been disappointing so far. She's only done less than a handful of scenes, she should be getting booked multiple times by multiple companies, she is perfect. https://bellesaplus.co/videos/10875/episode-126-charlotte-kenna

^ You have to consider she is choosing to do only a few scenes. Her reappearance could be simply to increase her visibility for non-studio, more lucrative porn work.
Just as an FYI, the scene listing requirements were slightly changed today and the changes are in bold on the scene listing post. I didn't want to catch people off guard
Thank you for mentioning this scene. Charlotte looks now thiccer than ever. Haven't seen her looking this yummy in almost 20 years. When she debuted, she had a booty as juicy as Alexis Texas, then she lost a lot of weight and *poof* the booty was gone too. And now she has it back. And as you and others have mentioned, we can't get enough of her. Hopefully she will start shooting more often.
