^ Oh, I'm cool with the outdoor settings, it's the females featured in these scenes that just don't excite me; I'd much rather see the American pornstars I know and like. Additionally, the way these scenes go is something I don't like, either. The introductions to these scenes are usually good (I love seeing girls in bikinis), but I find myself bored as soon as the sex starts. It's way too tame, it's essentially erotica. I blame this on the director of these scenes, Julia Grandi. I've actually come up with a term for Grandi's scenes on Blacked, Vixen and Tushy...I call it "Eurotica". Cookie-cutter Euro babes (just about all of the ones featured have the same type of body) peforming slow and tame sex while not really saying a word. For me, all of this "Eurotica" featured in the past two years on these sites has watered down the quality of them and, as a result, I find myself purchasing memberships for them less often.

Don't know any on Blacked, but when I hear leg-shaking/trembling, I immediately think of Kristen Scott. Her scenes with Dredd for JulesJordan or Owen Gray for her OnlyFans are exactly this. And they're absolutely great.
I can agree that some of the "Eurotica" scenes lack passion (e.g. Vikalita) and that sometimes the reveal of a Euro scene featuring another random Eurobabe isn't as exciting as an American star or starlet, e.g. Eveline Dellai, Cayenne Klein, Alecia Fox, Sasha Rose are all kinda meh to me. But personally I've found the American scenes of such a painfully low quality and consistency recently (inc. pre-shutdown) that if it weren't for the Euro scenes I wouldn't even be paying this site any attention anymore.
And I'm thankful that American stars like Emily Willis, Ariana Marie and Mia Melano shot their most recent scenes in Europe, instead of under the tired and sexless direction of the American producers. If the Euro scenes sometimes feel too much like erotica, then the American scenes recently have been completely bereft of eroticism. I've found them bland and functional for a long time, no matter who was starring in them.
When we're looking at the top Euro stars like Jia Lissa, Stacy Cruz & Liya Silver the Euro scenes blow the American content out of the water as far as I'm concerned. And even the scenes with unknowns can be top notch when they're hot and adventurous. The Lana Roy & Kaisa Nord scene last year is one of the hottest IR scenes on this site.
I doubt we'll see a break from the Euro scenes in the near future since, like with their other sites recently, I think they have more Euro scenes in the can due to lockdown being stricter in California than certain parts of Europe.
But the biggest problem with this site right now, in my opinion, is the poor quality of the American content. I doubt recent events have made things any easier when it comes to creating exclusive and exciting American content, but that's the area where they really need to find their mojo.
Personally I'm done with these sites at the moment, at least until they start shooting American models again... They fell down so hard from what Lansky made of it.
Preferring an IR scene with a higher level of contrast is actually a very tame thing when you consider some of the other things that get posted on this forum. Contrast is pretty much the whole point of IR.
Pretty much agree that the Euro scenes are what is keeping this site afloat right now. I think they could expand the talent pool if they would get to some of those girls before a company like Legalporno gets them, and LP has had many hot ones that should have been on here instead of there. The American scenes have a directorial problem and a male performer problem, even more so than the Euro side. It's been a very long time since I had to watch an American scene "right now".
^ 100% agree......especially that last point. Some people are just obsessed by 'American' models. For me, its all about how hot they look and how well they perform. I just don't care what language they speak.

The Euro porn scene has been pretty dead for a while now, which is probably why a site like LegalPorno is able to get some genuinely stunning women to degrade themselves. Don't get me wrong, I'm no puritan, but whereas once they got some beautiful women to do some pretty kinky things (DAP, watersports) and some less attractive women to do the really extreme stuff, now they have model types drinking piss, getting fisted to prolapse and having orgies with transexuals straight off the bat.
If Grandi can offer a higher calibre of work in more traditional porn, then she should have her pick of the Euro talent. Of the current LegalPorno girls, Megan Venturi is the one that got away, as far as I'm concerned. Polina Maxim and Natasha Teen would've been great too.

If the brains of VMG want to position themselves as the top-tier network to be on for the niches they represent, and the low numbers of scenes they comparatively produce and high aesthetic values they dump their money into indicates to me that they do, then they need to step up and make it so appearing on their sites is an accomplishment or an honor, if you will.
What we've seen over the last few months and continue to see now is embarrassing - other than Grandigate, imho, there is no reason why this network should be casting the talent they've been using.
You are right in your opinions, and years ago, it was an accomplishment. Girls would have to go to the LA office and audition. Many were rejected. But to be fair, they have a splendid team. For example, they hired away x-art's team years ago. But with 6 sites, they run into production capacity problems. The previous update schedule was once every 5 days. That's 6 updates per month. With a proper 3 days per scene turnaround, they would need at least 4 production teams for all 6 sites, in order to keep up with production, let alone have some fallback content. These past few months were very tough with production completely shut down, but it was in the best interest of everyone's safety.
The content will pick up now that productions have resumed.
Julia is just one of their producers. Given how quickly she needed to be onboarded and functioning remotely from the main team, she's doing a fantastic job. I'll give her a lot of credit for that. It's been tough with her access to russian models cut off, but she does well with what she's got.

Easy one first - Grandigate is my assessment of how Grandi is tanking the company by producing shit scenes using mainly models from her own agency. She's doubledipping by drawing pay from VMG for production and then taking the agency cut from the models she uses, models we would largely never see because if anyone else was making the decision they wouldn't be cast. As you said, it used to be that models were reviewed and approved prior to appearing, hell they would be banging down the doors on social media asking to be cast. The door is wide open now and we see that reflected in overall appearance, experience, and ability.
Regarding the production/directing - prior to COVID they had the same schedule for release for many, many years and Greg was primarily the director. Regardless of his later faults, he built the brand up in the beginning before it being turned over to a much larger group of people making directorial and (I assume) casting decisions. Those decisions have eroded the appeal and starpower of these sites and they can't blame it on anyone or anything other than the people calling the shots. I posted this wrap up of the last four months in the Tushy thread:
"The alternative is to shoot better content on your normal schedule so that when there is a hiccup you aren't releasing scenes with the girl who takes your order at KFC.
And let's look at that normal schedule, they tossed it out after a few weeks and really they only cut down to four updates per month from five but they still have zero good scenes coming out. They aren't Brazzers who was releasing two scenes per day and could get by with having shit content on most of those days, the sheer volume of scenes they release pretty much guarantees you'll find something you like, on some level anyway. So when a VMG site is asked to only do one scene a week and this is the best they can conjure it means, to me anyway, that things are far worse than we thought even before the pandemic. They got beat up constantly on this board for the lack of quality prior to February and now we have a firsthand view of the stuff they either thought wasn't good enough to release unless they NEEDED some scenes or these were the scenes that were going to be released eventually but got pulled forward due to no more filming.
So what we're seeing now is either so bad they didn't want to release it but had to because the "good" content was already released or this is what they consider good but were going to release later on."
Heres one of my favorite scenes that made me a huge fan of this whore, it was 3 years ago on BlackedRaw, it was really well done and around the same time Ava had just gained some weight in the right places. Also just learned the differences between the 2 sites. Would love to see Ava get slammed ontop of a boat.
I don't disagree. To be fair, her hiring was predicated on her ability to procure new models exclusively for the VMG brands. I don't know what sort of business agreement they have, but I assume VMG granted her permission to use her association with VMG, to facilitate her agency business. Otherwise, it would seem unfair if someone - for example, one of the editors or production team in LA - else in the company can't use their name to promote their freelance work, in some limited capacity.Long before he left, many casting decisions were already being made by others. He had to give people he trusted, more autonomy, simply because of the workload. I do agree with your assessment, that they should've controlled production capacity more effectively, such as holding off on the RAW sites. But the owners would probably disagree, as there have been major wins with casting, such as Maitland Ward.
I'm 99% sure that she won't shoot for companies and shares new content only on her sites. Which is sad as she indeed became the milfiest milf after her weight gain, but also quite understandable.
You make some fair points and, yeah, the quality of content has not been up to scratch for a long while.
As for Grandi's content, my appreciation of it only extends so far. I'm willing to give a bit more leeway during this Covid bullshit, but some of the performers and content released on Tushy & TushyRaw over the past couple of months, for example, I wouldn't be happy with under regular circumstances. There still has to be some level of exclusivity to the content. Stars like Stacy Cruz, Liya Silver & Jia Lissa are a must-see for me, but I have no more desire to see a Gina Gerson or some heavily tattooed random update than I want to see another generic Riley Reid update.
And I take your point about their content over the past couple of months exposing a lack of quality and ambition in the content they've been creating. They've had to release 17 scenes on this weekly basis during Covid so far. If you take away the Alina Lopez scene that was meant for Deeper and the Ashley Lane/Avery Cristy scene, which I also believe was meant for Deeper, and remove the Natalia Starr update that was never meant to see the light of day, you're left with a pretty weak roster of performers and content, weakened further by often poor direction.
They definitely need to up their game across the network post-Covid.
Just bought the scene Ava shot for Blacked from Adult Empire. So fuck excited, any reviews? Going in blind but I have high hopes for this scene

I think Ava was super hot when she shot her scenes with Blacked and Raw but both were a disappointment. The positions were boring and her tremendous rack was barely highlighted which is a fucking shame.
Stick around for a while, you'll see the same basic critique for the vast majority of scenes from these sites, they waste a lot of time with lackluster performers and then fail to capitalize on the stars they do manage to cast.
Sometimes the art and style gets the better of them. For example, in the early days of Tushy, they didn't have too many ass shots in the marketing material. Check out the early photo sets; not that many shots of the girl's bum.
BLACKED used to get caught up in the ethnicity, but they have mostly come back to focus on the penis and penis size
I hear that. I tend to fluctuate between new scenes and some of the older ones from years back because I have such a hard time finding quality stuff (to my perception)
Her work with Blacked has truly been outstanding. BBC definitely takes her work to another level. All of her IR scenes are incredible. I think Jessa's gangbang on Blacked could outdo Adriana Chechik's which is arguably the best scene they've ever done.

Oh, I understand a person having a preference for it and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. However, where I have a problem with ghost88 is how he puts down the "lighter-skinned" black male talents by saying they're not really black men. If you prefer to see "darker" black male talents, that's fine, but you don't need to insult the guys you don't prefer by questioning/denying their "blackness". That ain't cool.

I love Ava Addams but I thought that Blacked scene was disappointing. Too bad because I want to see more MILFs/Mature models on those sites.
With all the European scenes they're pumping out these days, it's a disappointment(to put it mildly) not to have seen a return of girls like Angel Wicky and Little Caprice. Call em up, ASAP.
