As the author of this topic, I started this topic out of a sincere curiousity as to what is behind this phenomenom in which black porn performers seem to get plenty of opportunities to perform with black and white men, but have significantly far less appearances with white females. While some may feel like "so what," I find it odd in the 21st century that female segregation seem to be more the norm where black and white porn actresses are concerned. The segregation appears to be more abject with darker skinned sisters, but there are many light skinned sisters appear to be shut out from performing with white actresses. Because "performing with" implies not only performing on the same film but also in the same scene, my input in this discussioni has often focused on features. My concern here has not been just the fact of the lack of opportunity for black females in white-produced porn features, but the economic disenfranchisement that comes with it. My assumption is that features -- such as those produced by Wicked and Vivid -- pay female performers better, and that has been testified to by some insiders who have commented on this thread. Therefore the lack of opportunity to perform with white porn actresses also appears to leave most black porn actresses shut out of the better paying film possibilities. Can't speak for anyone else, but having sought information here, I think I have reached some conclusions based on the input and comments: 1.) The success of Jada Fire and Marie Luv is not a function of luck, but is probably a function of strong work ethic, not only on the set, but also in educating themselves on how to succeed in the industry and in promoting themselves effectively. 2.) Some filmmakers appear to have some tunnel vision views on what sells and what is attractive, sexy and erotic to its fan bases. Diversifying their films are not a priority, and I speculate that they are not turned on by black porn actresses, unless it arouses their bank libido. That will only happen with black actresses such as Marie Luv and Jada Fire, who have not only big fan bases, but apparently diversified ones. 3.) While there are no doubt less than enterprising black porn actress with suspect work ethic, the same can be said for many white, Hispanic or Oriental porn actresses. However, black porn actresses will pay more dearly for consistently giving less than their best in all facets of their porn work, because they don't have the ihherent sexy foot in the ethnic door of white porn filmdom. Conversely, some black actresses who do work hard at porn may also have a hard time getting into the more lucrative films than lesser industrious white porn actresses. 4.)In already sparse opportunities in white filmdom, some black actresses may also be further diminishing their chances by a refusal to do anal. 5.)While there have been a few respondents in this thread who have expressed their sole preference for white performers, I think it is overwhelming shown that most porn aficianadoes could give a damn about the ethnticity of the female porn performer as long as there is a healthy degree of attractiveness and energetic and creative fucking. Of all the current non-light-skinned/non-mixed black porn actresses out there, only Marie Luv, Jada Fire, Lacey DuValle, Nyomi Banxxx, Candice Von, Kapri Styles and Sinammon Love appear to have significantly broken the color line where performing with white actresses and landing roles in white-produced features. While happy for them, the vast majority of black porn actresses are not getting the opportunity to work with white females, unless they are in black-produced productions (And while it is a good thing that there are black produced films, the prevailing perception is that they pay less). I personally appreciate the input from the insiders and knowledgeble folks, as it is enlarging my perspective on the subject. Specially thanks as well to Marie and Ayanna for your valuable insight. One question I do have: is a factor in the issue the fact that some white female performers would prefer not to perform with black porn actresses? I have often wonder about that with the famous Jenna Jameson, the films of who I have never seen a black actress (someone correct me on this if I have missed one). Well one thing I think we fans should realize too is, many directors are former performers. So that I think plays a big part too. I'm sure that in the coming years when new directors come on board, they will be ones as well who have worked with black women in porn and it will change possibly then. I know if I was a director I sure would be casting white and black female performers together in scenes as well as IR with white men and black women. I think alot just comes down to a combination of the return on the movie being made and taking a chance on doing something different. What too many of these directors fail to realize is, there is a market there for everything now. It is clear from this discussion that there is an issue concerning black females porn actresses in which there is a current of bias that hinders many from taking advantage of some of more lucrative film projects out there. I wouldn't call it abject racism as much as that it simply shows that there is tremendous room for improvement in porn concerning the opportunities available to black females beyond roles in black produced film or project in which white men are their partners. The same room for improvement could be said to be needed in other areas of the entertainment arena as well as other pursuits in society. While that is a challenge to the porn industry in general, and specifically white filmmakers, it is also a challenge to black female porn actresses. Jade Fire and Marie Luv have demonstrated the work ethic involved to be at the top our their game. However, if there is an increase in the doors of opportunity for high quality and more financially rewarding film projects, it means nothing if more black actresses are not up to that level of performance. There are some who are consistently high-level performers besides Jada and Marie, and they need to continue such work ethic. They will be ready for that increase, if it ever happens during their career. But there are others who are not as industrious in porn, and therefore, this whole discussion is in vain for them. Kapri Styles, Sydnee Capri, Kitten, Sinnamon Love, Lori Alexia, Vanessa Blue, Melodee Bliss, Nyomi Banxxx are some of the girls I think deserve to get more work in IR as they all have some really good energy in thier scenes and all are friggin hot. Black women are THE hottest women these days in general. The blondes are so overplayed and a dime a dozen nowadays. Black women and Latinas are the two types of women that I believe are the most popular women in terms of attraction to most white men. In porn I think both types of women are popular just that the studios are mostly run by guys who have been in this business for a decade or two so they just continue along with what made them money in the beginning. Also too many directors are ex male pornstars and those guys will favour certain women anyhow. If more guys were coming in to direct porn from outside the business I think there would be a big change in product. But we all know that sure is not going to happen. I'll still search out the black girl/white guy, black girl/girl porn at the video stores or just look for a good price for them online. What I found very interesting back in January at the 2009 AEE was that there was more white men in line to meet Stacie Lane and Pinky at the Black Market booth, yet Black Market doesn't produce any Black girl/White guy porn. I think they along with Black Ice would be the best studios to come out with some good IR (BW/WM)series.

Usually if there's a hot new black female in the business, I almost always have to go to exclusively black films to see her, and that really includes black women who have been in the business for years. Do admit that I don't see many, if any, speaking up for their black sistas though.

You're off the mark with both Lex and Sean, as they have both promoted black women in their personal productions, and Lex continues to do so with his company. He never meant for his product to be exclusively for a black audience, and is getting a black eye from all the irate "dodger" fanatics. Shane is another case entirely. He only seems to be comfortable with little white teenies, and I've rarely if ever seen him with a woman of color, and can only remember one very lackluster scene with Alexis Silver, who makes me go thump in the night.
