Here's something I'm curious about: do the rank-and-file g/g porn fans agree with the "elites?"

As shown in the previous part, each scene on average has about 30,000 views. Let's assume this represents 6,000 actual viewers. Further, the ratings of the scenes are based on several hundred likes (and a few dislikes) -- let's say 600. Finally, each scene has on average about 30 comments. This translates into a Viewer vs. Rater vs. Commenter ratio of 200:20:1. Bottom line: of all the people who view the scenes, only a very small minority gives it a rating, and an even tinier, miniscule minority gives a comment. I can only assume the raters and commenters are self-selected groups whose interest in g/g porn far exceeds the average viewer. An "elite," if you will, with the commenters being "elite of the elite."

The question is: are their tastes similar to the tastes of the common people (i.e. viewers)? The answer comes in two parts. The first part doesn't surprise me: as a group, the raters and commenters' tastes are similar to the general public. The second part does surprise me: the commenters' tastes come far closer to the average viewers than the raters. There are two lines of evidence.

Statistical Correlation

The Pearson correlation coefficient of Ratings and Views is 0.29602, with p<0.00001. For Comments and Views, it's 0.63263, with p<0.00001.

What this means is that:

-- Both Ratings and Views are correlated with Views (scenes with high ratings or more comments tend to have more views, and vice versa), and the probability that such correlations are due to random chance is less than 1 in 100,000.

-- Comments are more closely correlated to Views than Ratings.

-- This implies both Raters and Commenters share similar tastes to the Viewers, but Commenters' tastes are much closer.

This can be seen visually in the graph below which illustrates the correlations in 2023 scenes (the chart for all years is too messy, as Excel seems to have trouble handling all the data points from 10 years).

The trendline for the Comments vs Views is much closer to a 45 degree line than the trendline for Ratings vs Views, and the points are clustered much closer to the trend line. Both imply the much closer correlation of tastes between Commenters and Viewers as opposed to Raters vs Viewers.

Orgy Analysis

A second line of evidence comes from an analysis of orgy scenes (my general term for anything with more than two women). I don't like them, but they are very common on GW. Out of a total of 2,336 scenes spanning 10 years, 459 are orgies, or 19.65%. The reason is easy to see: on average two women scenes have 29,244 views, while orgy scenes have 36,708 views, or 25.52% more.

But the reaction to such scenes between our two groups of "elites" are quite different. For Raters, two women scenes have average rating of 94.47, while orgy scenes are 94.45. In other words, essentially no difference. For Commenters, however, two women scenes average 24.0 comments, while orgy scenes average 31.4 comments, which represents a 31% advantage.

This can also be visualized. Below is graph of the "orgy advantage" in views over time.

Now take a look at the "orgy advantage" in Ratings (random yearly fluctuations that average out to be almost nil) and Comments (very closely resembling the pattern in Views). It is curious that this advantage also took a dive during the COVID years for some reason.

What does this mean? I'm not sure. But here's one suggestion to GW: maybe bring back the forum? I don't know if the Commenters are the same people who post in the forum, but that seems a reasonable assumption. If this is true, you can get a very good pulse of the overall community by just monitoring and interacting with this very small community, which is very efficient.

Before we get to the best girl of all time, let's look at some of the most popular scenes of all time, as measured by views, ratings and comments. This is based on a list of 2,336 scenes (just as a reminder, these are all scenes released from Jan 1, 2014, to Dec 31, 2023, excluding all Euro/affiliate studios, solo/interview content).

First, below are the top 5 most viewed scenes of all time. Their numbers of views are noted following the year.

As noted previously, the average views of all scenes are about 30,000. Only 12 scenes (out of 2,336) have more than 100,000 views.

To me, there are three interesting things to note about the top 5.

First, all come from 2019-20, just before the pandemic era. Nobody knew it then, but in retrospect, this arguably marked an end of a "golden age" (see part 2 on a discussion on quantity and perhaps quality of the scenes released over time).

Second, it's not surprising that these are so popular. They have some of the most popular stars of GW: Kristen Scott, Kenna James, Alina Lopez, Kendra Spade, and Angela White (trust me, they are popular, as I'll discuss in future posts about who the "Best Girl" is). They also include some who are not necessarily that popular in the g/g fandom, but are extremely popular in the wider porn circle, like Emily Willis and Gianna Dior, both AVN Female Performer of the Year award winners (Angela White has 3 of these - she's popular with everybody).

Third, these are heavily story-based scenes. The "Teenage Lesbian" series is the overwhelming winner, taking 3 of the top 5 spots. I had guessed the Alina Lopez/Kendra Spade scene "What Set Us Apart" was the most viewed. It turned out that fell just short of Part 2 of "Teenage Lesbian." In any event, these are all melodrama on the serious, darker side (well, I don't remember much about "Show Me Your Room" so I'm not sure about that one). I personally would love to see more of these, but it seems plot is just not a priority these days. Perhaps on this side of the pandemic, GW just doesn't have the budget to do things like this anymore.

In terms of rating, below are the 12 highest rated scenes, all tied at 99.

Interestingly, they are quite unlike the most viewed scenes. First, these span a wider range of time. One is from the very beginning in 2014, and there is even one post-pandemic scene from 2023. Second, most are standalone scenes of very thin plot and have a much lighter, comedic tone.

Finally, here are top 5 most commented scenes of all time.

These represent a rather eclectic bunch. "What Set Us Apart" shows up again, this time as Number 1. It's a real tear-jerker. If you read the comments, people are really impressed by the emotional story. Alina and Kendra play two Mormon missionaries and do a really good job. The fact that they are both really Mormons and actual friends just make this even more intriguing.

The "Parent-Teacher Trap" comes from the "Pure Taboo" channel, which is the darker twin of the "Mommy's Girl" channel. This one is very kinky. Kendra James plays a teacher who coerces a stepmom Alexis Fawx and stepdaughter Marykate Moss to have sex with each other and with her. For whatever reason, such darker content is rarely seen on the g/g side.

Alina and Kendra show up again on the list at number 4 in a no-plot, pure sex pairing. As I said earlier, they are very well liked by GW fans.

I have not watched the other two scenes, so I can only speculate about why they have provoked so many comments. Perhaps viewers are just fascinated by breast milk in "Breastfeeding the Babysitter" and the sight of a very pregnant Karla Kush in "Part of Being a Woman?"

GW divides its output into various channels. In reality, they come in two types. Some represent specific fetish or sex act or scenario (e.g. Mommy's Girl). Others are story-based miniseries. When entering data, I decided to call all the miniseries of at least 3 episodes long (many of them are in fact trilogies) "Feature."

If "channels" of one or two videos (e.g. Accidental Gangbang which has only 2 lesbian videos, the rest are straight) are not counted, the following are "Best" channels of GW.

The surprising winner for the most viewed channel is the very brief 3-episodes series of "The Oral Experiment." Its views are significantly above other channels. I haven't watched too many "Holy Matri-Moly" videos, so I can't say too much about how good it is. Finally, the recent quasi-BDSM series "Switch" has provoked quite a bit of interest.

Below are the second to fifth placed channels/series in terms of views. As you can see, The Oral Experiment is quite a bit ahead of its competition. The audience also seems to like other more "realistic" series like We Like Girls and True Lesbian. On the other hand, story-based channels like Features and Pure Taboo are far from disliked, as they round out the top 5.

There are some overlaps with view numbers, with The Oral Experiment making a strong case that it is the best channel/series overall (1st place in views, 2nd in rating and comments). There are also some specific niches, like redheads, school/office settings, and large breasts.

If we further break down the Feature category, below are the "Best," with Teenage Lesbian dominating Views and Comments. For Ratings, three series are tied at 97.00 in first place - A Wife's Affair, Telepathy, and Christmas Spirit. What I find interesting is that all of them use the same actresses again and again (Kristen Scott in Teenage Lesbian, Abigail Mac and Vanessa Veracruz in A Wife's Affair, Mia Malkova in Telepathy, and Shyla Jennings in Christmas Spirit). These women are gorgeous and great performers, and fans apparently love seeing them again and again. There is no shortage of such women now, but for whatever reason, we just don't have these series anymore.

Here are the rest of the top 5 in terms of views, ratings, and comments. Note that there is only one series that comes from the post-pandemic era (Women's World), which has done pretty well (but perhaps not well enough to warrant more of this type of material?)

Best Girls of Girlsway 6: Most Notable Girls of All Time

After so much preamble, I'm finally getting to the actual porn stars. As suggested in the title, this is a list of "most notable" rather than "best." Why? Because here I will treat all the women throughout the entire 2014-2023 period as a single group and list those with the highest stats. As I explained in part 1, this method suffers from the huge problem of "accumulation error" where stars from earlier days have a longer time to accumulate views and comments and do more scenes (perhaps rating is less affected? I'm not sure). Their prominence is thus exaggerated, and more recent stars artificially diminished.

Still, it's fun to find out who they are. I will list those with the highest average number of views, rating, and comments. These reflect audience popularity. I will also list those who have done the most scenes. In a sense this reflects how popular they are with the producer (GW).

Lastly, let me address minimum scene cutoff. There are a total of 754 models who have done 2,336 scenes during this 10-year period. The distribution, however, is extremely uneven. Most of them have done very few scenes. Below is a histogram, where you can see about 450 of the 754 women (or 60%) have done 4 scenes or fewer.

The median number of scenes they have done is 3. I will use this as a minimum scene cutoff, that is, I'm comparing those who done at least 4 scenes or more. This is a list of 346 women. From this group, here are the ones with the highest stats...

Ava Addams? She's done just a few scenes in the very brief span of 2014-16. But... mommy supremacy, I guess? Aspen Rae???!!! Ha I guess this is part of the fun of doing a list like this, where I get to be completely surprised. I honestly can't remember her at all. Alina Lopez being the most commented girl is not a surprise at all, considering she starred in 2 of the top 5 most commented scenes of all time (both with Kendra Spade, see Part 4 for details). Finally, Kenna is the most popular with GW itself. She is also the only one in this list who is still active, having done her first GW scene in 2015. I once said she has done close to 100 scenes, but that number includes affiliate studios, behind-the-scene, interviews, solos, etc.

Here are the rest of the top 5 in average views per scene.

Veronica Vain?! Another total surprise. She's a textbook example of "skewed" results. 3 of the 4 scenes she did had middling to good views, but the very first one she did - alongside another "super mommy" Kendra James - had more than 120,000 views, making it the 7th most viewed scene ever.

Veronica Avluv didn't do many scenes, but in the few that she did, she sort of hit the "trifecta" of kinks: mommy, squirting, and anal. Lastly, Alina and Kendra round out the top 5. They sort of come as a package (as you'll see later).

Vienna Black?! Wow another real surprise. She did those scenes 2018-19. Again, I don't remember her at all. I know there are some big time Elle fans here. My personal favorite among the top 5 is Lacy.

Like I said, Alina and Kendra seem to come as a (very cute) package. But Ella who? Her results are also skewed by one single highly commented scene (86 comments), where she starred alongside two other "top girls" Veronica Avluv and Alina Lopez. Finally, too bad Eva only did 5 scenes with GW.

Lastly, these are the rest of the top 5 who have done the most number of scenes.

No real surprises here. I guess I just want to express my appreciation that Whitney continues to star in GW scenes.

OK this is the end of Part 6. Starting with the next part, I'll go through the "best girls" of each year.

Starting with this part, I will go through each year from 2014 to 2023 and list the most viewed, highest rated, and most commented girls in each year (I will also include who has done the most scenes). The point is to evaluate which actress is the most popular with the audience in any given year based only on the scenes released that year.

The goal is that at the end, I will have built up a list of annual "champions" and be able to compare them and find out who truly is the most popular. Just to reiterate a point I made repeatedly earlier, the reason I'm doing it this way is to make the comparison as "horizontal" as possible (intra-year comparison), instead of "longitudinal" comparison across the years where earlier stars enjoy an unfair advantage of having longer time to accumulate views and comments.

In 2014, there were a total of 152 scenes. Here are the most popular scenes in 2014.

One notable thing to me is that of all the women here, it seems only Chloe Amour is still active. She hasn't done a scene for GW recently, but I just reviewed a scene with her from Lesbian X a few months ago. It's amazing that 10 years later she still looks so good. It's depressing that 10 years later she still hasn't improved her g/g game by much.

A total of 137 women did at least one scene in 2014. The minimum scene cutoff is the median number of two. So, comparing among those who have done at least three scenes (which is 44 women), here are the best girls of 2014.

A few names (Brandi Love, Kendra Lust, Shyla Jennings, Aidra Fox) show up repeatedly, indicating they are very well liked by the audience across different measures. There are also some surprises like Eva Sedona and Kiera Winters. If one "Girl of the Year" is to be named, it's probably Shyla Jennings. She's the only one to show up on all three of the Top 5 list, coming in at 2nd in views, 3rd in ratings, and 1st in comments.

- According to the measures that I looked at, Shyla was arguably "Girl of the Year" in 2014. The voters concurred in 2015.
- The voters seemed to have some clairvoyance! They voted for Alina in 2018, when she didn't have the smash hits of Teenage Lesbian, What Set Us Apart, and We Like Girls until 2019-2020.
- At the end of my project, I'll reveal the best girls of all time (split into three categories of view, rating, and comments, and I'll list the gold/silver/bronze winners in each category, in honor of the upcoming Paris Olympics 😁). Some of them are on the list you just posted. Can anyone guess which ones?

p.s.: one more thing I just noticed about the names you just posted -- only one single mommy Jenena?! 😲 Just in the 2014 data I presented, there are already highly ranked two mommies (Brandi Love and Kendra Lust). AGM: All Girl Massage

I had briefly mentioned the Kendra and Veronica scene before - it's one of the most viewed scenes of all time, and has made Veronica having the second highest average views of all time. I had long thought "A Wife's Affair" was the earliest "Features" of GW (story-based miniseries). But there actually was an earlier feature in 2014, a six-part series called "Lady Lessons."

Anyway, there were a total of 163 women in 2015. Using the median number of 2 scenes as cutoff, I only compare among those who did at least 3 scenes. This includes 74 women. Here are the best among them.

Redheaded super mommy Kendra James (who is, as far as I know, a lesbian only performer) stares down with her imperious glare, basking in the adulation of the people in two of the three categories. Janice and Rebel are surprise winners, their names never coming up again in the top 5 in the future.

In part 3 of this series, I talked about how the audience for "viewing" and "commenting" are similar to each other, but the "raters" seem to have different tastes. 2015 is a good confirmation of this. In both "most viewed" and "most commented," the top 3 are all MILFs. Among the top 5 rated, there's not a single MILF to be found.

If one "Girl of the Year" -- or "Mommy of the Year" -- is to be picked, I'd say it's Kendra James, for taking top spot for most viewed and commented.

According to the data provided by Bistahieversor, the top 3 "Girls of the Year" for 2015 were Shyla Jennings, Dillion Harper, and Vanessa Veracruz (decided by voters). It's interesting that none of them show up in the top 5 data.

In 2016 there were 258 scenes. Here were the most popular ones.

Three scenes were tied at 99 in terms of rating this year. This is notable because out of a total of 2,336 scenes over 10 years, there were only 12 scenes rated 99 by the audience (no scene is rated 100). 2016 was the year with the most number of scenes rated at 99.

There were a total of 161 women in 2016. Counting only those who have done 3 scenes or more - 80 women - below were the most popular girls of 2019.

Kimmy Granger was only active on GW from 2016-17, but released some really good scenes, partnering with some really popular performers like Kendra James, Kendra Lust, Kristen Scott, and Celeste Star in 2016. Aspen Rae was the surprise at highest rated (I don't remember her at all). According to IAFD, she's a g/g only performer who did only 73 scenes (including many solos) from 2013 to 2018.

Here were the rest of the top 5 most viewed in 2016.

The victory of Kimmy Granger as the most viewed girl in 2016 (21 years old at the time) actually presented a distorted picture. 2016 was in fact the year of the mommies: the rest of the top 5 were all MILFs. Second place finisher Angela Sommers barely missed Kimmy by 1000 views or so. Her most memorable scene to me was her first scene on GW, where she pretty much r*ped Kenna James (yeesh).

Cadence did her first scene for GW in 2016. It's great to see she is still doing scenes in 2024.

According to the Bistahieversor's data on Girl of the Year 2016 (as determined by voters), the top 3 were Jelena Jensen, Kenna James and Serena Blair. Serena was not on any of the top 5 lists, but Jelena and Kenna did the most number of scenes (tied at 12 with Mia Malkova). Jelena also didn't miss some other top 5 lists by much: she's 7th in most viewed, and 6th in most commented (once again confirming the MILF dominance of 2016).

p.s.: I just went back and re-checked the data, and it seems this "mommy dominance" phenomenon was very strong in GW's early years. Out of the top 5 most viewed scenes, from 2014-2016, most came from the Mommy's Girl channel.

Since then, Mommy's Girl dominance has waned.

Just for kicks, I looked up "milf" in google trends. It looks like you are right: the first half of the 2010s saw a rise of search for this term, but then it slowly declined. Interestingly there was an earlier peak about 2005.

In 2017 there were 300 scenes (we were approaching the height of production during 2018-19). Here were the most popular ones.

Fun fact: this Girls Try Anal scene between Reena and Eliza is actually the second most viewed GTA scene ever (the most viewed GTA scene is the one between Adriana Chechik and Penny Pax released in 2018, a mutual anal fisting scene). It's also the second highest rated scene and the second most commented scene of 2017. The Karla/Mona video had a lot of positive comments about the pregnant sex (but of course it's possible GW just removed any negative comments).

There was a total of 177 women in 2017. Counting only those who did 3 scenes or more, which was 88 women, here were the top ones in 2017.

Kenna did far fewer scenes in 2017 than 2016, but got the most views this year. For rating, it's a three-way tie at the top. Both Scarlett and Ashley released their first scenes for GW in 2016, and by the second year they were already very well liked. This year however would prove to be the last one for Jessa Rhodes for GW. Angela was very popular with the GW team. She won the first of her 3 consecutive AVN Female Performer of the Year award in 2018. Her scenes with GW in 2017 certainly contributed to this (the award is based on the prior year's videos).

Below are the rest of the top 5 in average views, ratings, and comments.

Mona Wale's 2nd place in most viewed shows her place on this year's list is not just a fluke based on the pregnancy scene with Karla Kush. Uma Jolie shows up here twice. She's, to me anyway, one of the prettiest girls in porn ever (along with Alexa Grace). Too bad neither is all that good at g/g scenes.

Below are the rest of top 5 in terms of number of scenes released in 2017, trailing behind Angela White.

Aclayfan mentioned previously how the GW community wanted more scenes with Lana Rhoades (presumably based on GW forum postings). Unfortunately, the data I collect can't evaluate how much the community wants any specific star, only how she is received (I'm open to any suggestion in terms of how this might be measured). As you can see, she's here tied with Uma at 4th place in rating in 2017, but this is the only time she will show up in any of the top 5 lists.

We have arrived at 2018. Along with 2019, this was arguably the height of GW's power. This year, they released 320 scenes, the most ever. The scenes were rated on average 95.39, the highest ever.

Below were the most popular scenes of this year.

While there are many threesome scenes on GW, this year's most viewed scene was a true orgy scene. It's not my cup of tea, but the cast was pretty amazing.

There was a total of 193 women in 2018. Counting only those who did at least 3 scenes, which included 85 women, below were the most viewed.

I mentioned previously Angela White won the first of her unprecedented three consecutive AVN Female Performer of the Year awards in 2018. This year was also when she reached the height of her viewing popularity on GW, despite starring in only 6 scenes. In addition to herself, a lot of this was no doubt due to her partners, almost all of them GW favorites, including Whtiney Wright, Abella Danger, April O'Neal, Aidra Fox, Georgia Jones, and Emily Willis.

Vienna Black was the unexpected winner of the highest rated star, who did only three scenes this year and one more scene in 2019. Aali Kali's most commented status was due mostly to the distorting effect of a single scene.

Here were the rest of the top 5 in most viewed, highest rated, and most commented.

Bistahieversor provided a list of voter-determined Girl of the Year/GOTY, and Alina Lopez was the 2018 winner. A good argument for that can be made based on the stats as well, since she is the only one to be on all three of the top 5 lists: 5th most viewed, 3rd highest rated, and 2nd most commented.

Also, a few words on Charlotte Stokely: her 4th place finish on the rating list of 2018 was the only time she would show up in my study of GW. However, she was voted "Best Lesbian Performer of the Year" by XRCO (X-Rated Critics Organization) in 2018, the first of FIVE consecutive victories for her. By 2023, they just re-named this award to "Charlotte Stokely Girl/Girl Performer Of The Year Award." Starting next year (2019), she would also win three consecutive AVN "Lesbian Performer of the Year" awards, and two consecutive XBIZ "Girl/Girl Performer of the Year" awards. She is almost certainly the most awarded g/g only performer in history.

Lastly, here were the rest of the top 5 in terms of most scenes released on 2018 (3 tied at second place, 3 tied at 5th place).

This year 284 scenes were released. Along with 2018, one could argue this was part of the high watermark of GW in terms of audience popularity, as this year had the highest average views per video at 36,000, and the highest average comments at 31.5. Here were the most popular videos of the year.

As I mentioned in part 4 of this series, Teenage Lesbian Part 2 was in fact the most viewed scene of all time on GW, and the Pure Taboo scene with Alexis, Marykate, and Kendra (titled Parent-Teacher Trap) was the second most commented scene of all time.

There were 195 women in 2019 scenes. Including only those who did 3 or more scenes, which was 80 women, here were the top 5.

The "win" here by Kristen Scott as the woman with the highest average views in 2019 was extremely impressive because she had 10 scenes this year: this was a very high number. To be the most viewed girl, in addition to being very popular with the audience, you also have to be lucky: do just a few scenes, and hope all of them have high number of views. If you do a lot of scenes, chances are you'll do less well-received scenes, and that will drag down your averages. During this 10-year period of 2014-2023, there was only one other time when the most viewed girl of a year even had more than 5 scenes in that year (Kimmy Granger with 8 scenes in 2016).

As Bistahieversor and I discussed earlier, there was clearly a trend away from MILFs during the late 2010s. In both 2018 and 2019, there were very few of them among the top 5. Here Brandi Love (most viewed in 2014) and Kendra James (most viewed and most commented in 2015) made a comeback, and along with Alexis Fawx marked a relatively modest presence for mommies.

Was there a "Girl of the Year" winner? No one appeared in all three lists, so there's no clear-cut winner, though one could make a case for Kristen Scott, since she's 1st in views and 2nd in comments.

As for Emily, she didn't do badly this year in stats at all, as she placed 2nd in most viewed. In 2019, she had some great scene partners, including Georgia Jones, Scarlett Sage (arguably Emily's best scene ever), India Summer, and Serene Siren. She would partner with Gianna Dior twice -- a notable pairing, as Emily would become AVN Female Performer of the Year in 2021 (she ended Angela White's unprecedented three-peat from 2018 to 2020), and Gianna would become AVN Female Performer of the Year in 2022.

But it's tough to go against Kristen Scott this year, as 2019 was the year of Teenage Lesbian, almost certainly the highest profile series in GW history, also a Kristen star vehicle.

This is the start of the pandemic era, so we saw a massive fall of production. The number of scenes released decreased from 284 last year to just 174. Average views, ratings, and comments also plummeted. Still, here were the most well-received scenes in a terrible year.

For the first and only time in this 10-year period 2014-2023, one scene occupied more than one top spots in the "best of" scenes of a single year. "What Set Us Apart" with Alina Lopez and Kendra Star is in fact the second most viewed scene of all time, and most commented scene of all time.

When it came out, I wrote a long comment on the website, full of effusive praise (like many others), but it got deleted by GW. I'm not sure why, but probably because I made reference to other, mainstream media material, and they were concerned about copyright? That's the only thing I can think of. But if so, it's really weird, because I was referring to a relatively obscure scifi novel (at least outside the scifi community) from the 1980s.

The novel was The Book of the New Sun, written by American author Gene Wolfe. The story is set in a far distant future earth. There is one episode where the protagonist visits a military camp and talks to a group of soldiers and a POW (prisoner of war). They decide to do a "story competition," where everyone will tell a story, and whoever tells the most interesting one wins.

The POW decides to join in. He comes from a nightmarish totalitarian society (similar to the one depicted in 1984, except even more so) where the very language people speak has been "reformed" such that they can only speak in government-approved, extremely stilted political slogans. Using this all but incomprehensible "language," the POW tells a story. Another character translates this into understandable language to the protagonist (and we the reader). It turns about to be a very touching, emotional story.

Part of the pathos comes from not just the story, but the telling of the story. Here's a man who has lost all abilities to express himself using commonly understood terms that will evoke empathy and sympathy. So he uses whatever language he still has, no matter how stunted and unsuitable, to express emotions and sentiments that all humans share. There is a moment in "What Set Us Apart" that strongly reminds me of this.

Anyway, this year 163 women did scenes for GW. Including only those who did 3 scenes or more, which was 60 women, here were the best girls of 2020.

Alina dominates views and comments, but not just because of "What Set Us Apart." She did a scene with April O'Neil as part of the ASMR Fantasy channel that had 81 comments (the average comments for this year's scene were just 26). She did another Girlcore scene with Gia Paige that had a massive 90,000 views. Needless to say, if I have to name a "Girl of the Year," it's Alina.

Lacy's win was also notable, because at 98.00, her rating was the highest among all annual winners of highest rated girl.

A few words on Jay Taylor: she only did 3 scenes, all in 2020, and was arguably not the stereotypical "pretty girl." Her position as the 2nd most viewed and 3rd most commented girl of 2020 was powered by her one scene with Angela White (Show Me Your Room, part of the True Lesbian channel), which was extremely well received (it's the 5th most viewed of all time, and received 90 comments).

This is the second year of the pandemic era, and the production was still in the doldrums. Only 172 scenes were released. Here were the popular ones.

I recently read on this forum that Karlee is combing back with a new scene with Vanna Bardot - excellent news! Also, this was the first and only time Sinn Sage would appear anywhere in this study (either as part of a top scene in a year or in any of the top 5 lists). Somehow this feels wrong.

There were 164 women this year. Including only those who did 3 scenes or more, which was 60 women, below were the most popular.

Hmmm, I'm noticing something the most viewed, highest rated, and most commented women all have in common.... Fun fact: it seems big breasts have never swept all three top spots like this in all 10 years of GW. Also, too bad there had only been 7 scenes with Gabbie on GW.

We finally stepped out of the shadow of the pandemic this year, and production recovered somewhat. 218 scenes were released. Below were the most popular ones.

As I noted earlier, "Women's World" turned out to be the only post-pandemic "feature" (story-based miniseries) produced by GW, and in fact the last one to this day. Three scenes tied at the top for highest rated. And the scene between Aiden and Charlotte was the most commented. Interestingly, this was the first and only time a "We Like Girls" video would show up as one of the top scenes of the year.

195 women starred in at least one scene this year. Including only those who did at least 3 scenes, which was 70 women, below were the most popular ones.

This is the last year my study covers. In 2023, 201 scenes were released. Here were the most popular scenes.

As I mentioned previously, the Jayden/Victoria scene was the only one (out of 12 scenes) to be rated 99 in the post-pandemic era. The Casey/Victoria scene, part of the quasi-BDSM series, elicited a lot of comments.

152 women had at least one scene in 2023. Including only those who did at least 3 scenes, which was 64 women, here were the most popular ones.

In this latest year, the top women were an interesting mix of the old and the new, including Casey Calvert who had her first scene on GW in 2015, and Nicole Doshi who had her first in 2022.

Best Girls of Girlsway 18: Dominance, or, The Babe Ruth Question

My ultimate goal is to find the "best girl" of Girlsway from 2014 to 2023. My comparison has been focused on "annual competitions," but is each "win" worth the same? For example, Brandi Love had the highest average views for her videos in 2014, and Kendra James had the highest in 2015. But should those "wins" be weighed the same?

For those who are familiar with American baseball, you almost certainly have heard of Babe Ruth. He's a player from the 1920s, and is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player ever. The reason was twofold: he achieved some great feats, and he was INCREDIBLY dominant in his time that was unlike anything ever seen before or since.

Take hitting home run as an example (if you are not familiar baseball, just know it's a very difficult thing to do, and it contributes greatly to your team's victory). In 1920, he hit 54 home runs, which shattered the single season record of 29 home runs set by himself in 1919. Far more mind-blowing, however, was that 54 was more home runs hit by 14 out of 16 TEAMS in all of baseball in 1920.

Of course, some people argue the exact opposite. Perhaps he's just "blessed" with weak competitors? After all, if you look him up, you'll see he's a bit chubby, and doesn't look all that athletic. If he goes up against modern athletes, who have been trained on the high standards of modern nutrition and exercise science that were unknown in his days, perhaps he'll be merely pretty good instead of extraordinary. Until we have a time machine, this argument will likely never be settled.

But for now, I'll apply this "dominance" test to Girlsway girls. Specifically, I'll compare their margin of victory over that year's average. For example, in 2014, Brandi Love had the highest average views at 49,386. The average views for all her competitors that year (44 other women) was 30,995. This was a "margin of victory" of (49386-30995)/30995 = 59.34% I'll do the same calculation for all the category winners of each year, and we can compare how dominant they were against their competitors.

First, who were the most dominant winners in average views?

Below is a comparison of all the annual winners. The blue bar is the winner's views, and the orange bar is that year's average views.

Alina's win is interesting: she in fact had the highest average view ever, but she also faced historically weak competition that year (though not the weakest). The 2nd and 3rd place finishers, Kristen in 2019 and Kendra in 2015, had high views and faced stronger competition.

The top three, Lena in 2021, Alex in 2022, and Lacy in 2020 were all against historically weak competition. But Lacy did get the highest ever rating in 2020.

Before finally getting to who the best girl I think is for Girlsway, let me address Adult Time's European scenes for the sake of completion. They will not enter into the "competition" with the main girls I have been discussing. Instead, I'll talk about them as their own thing.

There are two main channels for European g/g content on Adult Time. One is Lez Cuties (or LC for short). It had an initial run from 2005 to 2015. Then it took a break of 3 years and restarted in 2018. Unfortunately, the last video of LC came out in October 2022. I can only hope this is yet another "break" and will not prove a permanent end. My analysis will focus on their videos since the 2018 restart.

Another is Mixed X, which started in September of 2019 and spent its first year as a hetero channel. Starting in August 2020, they switched to a g/g only channel and is ongoing. Naturally I will focus on the latter part. Below are some broad statistics for both channels, and stats for the American, "mainstream" Adult Time g/g videos as a comparison.

Because they seem to come from different production teams and have very different focus/fetish, I will treat these two channels separately. Also, I will ignore "accumulation error" (where earlier girls and scenes had more time to accumulate views than later girls and scenes) when doing comparison, unlike what I have done with the main girls of GW.

Lez Cuties

One thing that immediate jumps out is their very high average views at 45,335 views per video, which is 50% higher than mainstream videos. Have they hit upon some unique, secret formula for success? Well, not really. LC scenes are overwhelmingly focused on threesomes and anal. If we look at threesome scenes in the "mainstream" Girls Try Anal channel, those videos averaged a nearly identical 46,179 views. Unfortunately, such success in attracting viewers is apparently still not enough to sustain the continued existence of LC.

Their ratings are nearly identical to mainstream scenes, but they have far lower engagement measured by comments. I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's due to the fact that most LC scenes are just pure sex and have no story?

Anyway, below are some of the best scenes of LC, by views, ratings, and comments.

It's interesting that the most viewed LC scene should have Vanna Bardot in it. It seems to be the only LC scene to have an American woman.

There are 135 women who did scenes for LC. The median number of scenes is just one. Using this as a cutoff, I'll include those who did two scenes or more, which is 58 women. Here are the best.

Mixed X

This channel's sex, for me, tend to be pretty weak. But they do have quite a bit of foot fetish. Judging by weak view numbers (just half of the mainstream scenes' views), this is not a very big audience. However, one good thing I'll say is that they are pretty ambitious in terms of story-telling, especially considering the women in them don't speak fluent English.

Here are the best scenes.

The most viewed and commented scene is between Zazie and Veronica, two of the best g/g performers in Europe. They actually did another scene together, also for Mixed X, which I reviewed.

49 women did scenes for Mixed X. The median/cutoff number is again just one. Comparing those who did at least two scenes, which is 19, here are the best.

OK we have finally arrived at the last part of my study of Girlsway 2014-2023 (to those who don't like this, your suffering is at an end). Here I will reveal the Top 10 Best Girls of Girlsway. The ranking will be based on a combination of "raw score" followed by "margin adjustment."

"Raw Score" is a simple scoring system that I'm using. From each top 5 list, points are given based on each woman's position. For example, during 2023, the top 5 in views, from most to least, were Hazel Moore, April Olsen, Chloe Surreal, Rachel Cavalli, and Lexi Lore. Based on this, I give 5 points to Hazel, 4 to April, 3 to Chloe, 2 to Rachel, and 1 to Lexi.

"Margin Adjustment" is based on each woman's margin over that year's average. Again using 2023 viewing ranking as an example, during that year, all scenes on average had 22,990 views. Hazel Moore's scenes had on average 34,677 views. This was 50.8% more than average. So her viewing score of 5 is increased by 50.8% to 7.54. April Olsen's scenes had on average 34,569 views, which was 50.4% more than average, so her viewing score of 4 is increased by 50.4% to 6.02. The same calculation is also performed on Chloe Surreal, Rachel Cavalli, and Lexi Lore to arrive at their adjusted scores. This calculation is then done to the women in the top 5 in ratings and comments in 2023, and then all the women across 2014-2023. Then their adjusted scores are added across the top 5 lists and years, and they are ranked by the total.

This scoring system has the following characteristics.

1. It treats views, ratings, and comments equally (whether they should be weighed equally is another question).

2. It rewards better performances (more views/ratings/comments) compared to other top 5 women in the same year.

3. It rewards bigger margins over the average performance in the same year.

4. It rewards successful longevity (if a woman shows up in top 5 lists across multiple years).

Without further ado, I give you the top 3 best girls of Girlsway, from 2014 to 2023.

Below are those who finished 4th to 10th place.

Here are the total adjusted scores of the top 10 girls.

As you can see, Alina Lopez completely smashes the competition. She gets her points in 2018 and 2020, but it's her dominant performance in 2020 that seals her victory. During that year, she is number one in views and comments, which give her a raw score of 10. But after adjusting for margins, that turns into almost 30 points, as her scenes' views and comments are far higher than the averages of that year.

I had initially done the ranking based on just raw score without adjusting for margins. Here's a side-by-side comparison.

It's interesting to note that the top 5 are essentially the same, with the only difference being the position of Alex Coal. She is just outside of top 3 in raw score, but is in 2nd place after adjustment, buoyed by the large margins of her victories in 2022. Another big difference is Kenna James dropping out of top 10 after adjustment, though she's in 11th place, just behind Adriana. Also, Kendra Lust, Mindi Mink, and Kendra James are clearly the top 3 mommies of Girlsway, in that order, regardless of adjustment.

About the results, well, I thought one of th possible candidates was Alina Lopez. She was featured in many scenes and was pretty popular so I'm not surprised she won the first place. For me, a perfect choice. But I'm not surprised to not see other very popular faces like Jenna Sativa, Serena Blair, Charie Deville or Jelena Jensen. I remember that in the old days, these actresses were between the most popular ones, but they aren't even featured in the last positions.

Yeah those names you cited did not fare very well. Out of 97 women who had at least one point (having finished within the top 5 in views or rating or comments at least once)...

Jenna Sativa: 6.5 points (3rd in comments in 2019, 5th in rating in 2022), 45th place
Serena Blair: 2.88 points (4th in rating in 2020), 71st place
Cherie Deville & Jelena Jensen: 0 points, since neither had ever finished in the top 5 in 2014-2023.

Like I explained in detail about the methods, the results are subject to all sorts of limitations. Just to cite a few examples:

1. My method favors a single very strong year over many good years. For example, Alex Coal is number two based on just 4 scenes in 2022, where she finished 2nd in views, 1st in ratings, and 1st in comments (and did so by big margins). Jenna Sativa, on the other hand, had done far more scenes, but finished in top 5 just twice (and both times pretty low in positions). For most of those good years, Jenna gets no points at all.

2. There's also perhaps a big dose of luck involved. Again using Alex as an example, she may have benefited from weaker, post-pandemic competition in 2022, whereas Jenna Sativa, in her peak years, had to go against stronger competition.

3. Lastly, my study is about audience reaction (views, rating, comments), but casting decisions by GW producers can make a big difference. Again using Alex Coal as an example, she was cast in the story-driven miniseries Women's World in 2022, which contributed to her high ranking in 2022. GW audience loves these miniseries in general (what I called "feature"), but there are not many of them, and GW decides who gets to play a role in them.
