Well, I can't speak for others but for me DarkX (gonzo, hard, rough IR) without IR DP, GB and Mandingo has no chance vs. BLACKED (erotic, soft, artistic IR) with the best male talents and fresh new girls. IR DP + Mandingo will be crucial for the success of DarkX.

Male talent: Mandingo, Moe Johnson, Lex Steele and Rico Strong should be your leading men to counter-act the dominance of blacked- leads like Flash and Jason Brown, Rob Piper and Michael Williams. Get a friendly rivalry going there. Female talent: Basically what has been said in previous posts, capture the market of female talent that Blacked tend to avoid; curvy(thick), mature, tattoos, IR mainstays and veterans, big tits (fake as well), PAWGS, BBG etc. Themes: Try to do themed releases that aren't necessarily first IR but oil, PAWG, all-anal, etc
I'd argue that the success of Blacked led to OpenLife allowing Mason to start the site, but outside of the fact that they're using storylines I don't see this being any different from the IR that Mason has already shot for HardX or EroticaX. Edit: And I don't think Mason should use different male performers than Blacked just for the sake of "building a rivalry". Still there is a need for new male black talent for all these new IR sites. There are too few of them. They should do some auditions. Enough volunteers I think for this amazing job ;-)
One male performer who I hope DarkX utilizes is Ice Cold. It's probably a long-shot though because he supposedly did something behind-the-scenes that led to him getting a negative reputation in the industry. But he did quite a few hot scenes for Mason when she was at Elegant and he's a solid performer. Maybe it's time to give him another chance?

All I ask is that you don't take the route Blacked has taken and completely shun milfs and curvier women like they have. Especially for anal scenes. I saw Veronica Avluv and Mercedes Carrera will be among the first batch of scenes to be released, so thank you for that. My suggestions: Alison Tyler, Alura Jenson, Jenna Ivory, Summer Brielle, Ryan Conner, Karmen Karma, Missy Martinez, Lea Lexis, Valentina Nappi, Roxy Raye, and Kendra Lust (once her contract with Tushy ends). Every girl I suggested does anal ;). Also, I'd love it if this site also included Black women like Teanna Trump, Cassidy Banks, Lisa Tiffian, etc. Whether it be for WM/BF scenes or BM/BF scenes, I think it would be remiss to not have DarkX include scenes featuring Black women. From all accounts, this site sounds very promising and I'm excited to see what Mason comes up with. :)
Ice-Cold is unofficially black listed. I gave up hoping to see his name redeemed. Plus Mason has worked with Ice Cold at least twice before, in scenes with Tori Black. The scenes were outstanding, exemplary products of great chemistry by top tier performers and Mason's fabulous directing. So I am quite sure if there was any hope for Ice, Mason wouldn't hesitate to cast him. Meanwhile, Richard Mann seems resigned to the amateur circuit. I think he still makes occasional appearances for amateurs, but I can't even recall the last time he worked with major players in the pros. I am sure Mann would get work if he applied, but apparently he's not interested.
^ Love that scene with Ice Cold, Tori, and Asa. Another great scene Mason did with Ice Cold was the the one from Car Wash Girls 2 with Jada Stevens and Kelly Divine. Hot!
There are similarities, but I honestly think DarkX could do it better than Blacked. I have full confidence that they are capable. Since they launched in May 2014, I've felt that there's always been room for Blacked to improve. This site could feature a wider range of females, bypass Blacked's restriction against tattoos, and use more dynamic camera work. Look, Lansky is great, but he's not the only one who knows how to shoot, and their method is not the only way to do it. Stylistically, I feel like Mason's method lands somewhere in between the full on gonzo of Jules Jordan and the premeditated still shots of Lansky's photography. Is this IR-oriented site taking some cues from Blacked? I'm sure of it. However, I have also noticed that Blacked as loosened up a bit with their camera work recently, and IMO the results have been markedly improved over their earliest scenes. We have to recognize that no man is an island, and no one here is working in vacuum. Right now I don't see any reason to criticize. Can we just wait and see how it is first? The previews look great. The talent so far looks very promising. The narrative style is also something I'm really keen on seeing Mason explore more. So this is definitely exciting!
So far it looks like DarkX will be a raunchier more hardcore version of Blacked. It will be interesting to see if a divide develops between which of the sites performers choose to work for.
I don't see how DarkX it's a copy of Blacked apart from both being IR themed pornsites without that old stereotypical setting usually featured on sites like DogFart and I think it would be great if we focused on the new content that DarkX is providing us instead of comparisons with Blacked's scenes. By the way, the trailers are really good and I'm particularly anticipating Karlee's scene.
Notice that Sara Luvv's scene is gonzo. I'm very pleased as Mason is a master at this. Not only an exclusive, but her 1st IR and featuring Mandingo no less, looks like a flagship scene.
The preview for August Ames scene with Rico is looking mighty hot. They exude good chemistry.Evidently unspeakable things cuz nobody will say lol. Supposedly it could relate to some on-set beef he had with Rico, but this woulda been back like 4 or 5 years ago. Maybe he flashed a piece and threatened to merc someone, IDK. It must be scary though for no one to work with him anymore, despite his talent and blessed endowment. Or maybe he caught something and simply cannot get medical clearance for work anymore. But the industry has decidedly moved on.

I have faith that Mason will deliver something really special with DarkX. One of my reasons for thinking so is EroticaX. That site had precursors from which it clearly drew inspiration, glamcore companies like X-Art and Nubiles, and it grew to surpass them creatively in every single way. Mason is one of the most gifted directors to ever shoot porn. She's got it covered.
I've said it before, but the funniest thing about this statement is that Blacked absolutely uses the same basic scenarios as Dogfart does, and they do it fairly often. They just do it in a way that looks classier.

It's hard to judge from trailers alone, but kissing appears to be an afterthought in these scenes to the extent that it takes place at all. Perhaps DarkX is taking a different path from Blacked and Black is Better when it comes to the act of kissing. Edited by - misspornUSA on 11/5/2015 9:25:18 PM
^ From what I saw Darkx does seem to be going down the more passionate path. There was definitely kissing in the Veronica Avluv and Angel scenes. I was disappointed to only see one anal scene though especially the scene with Remy, she hasn't done IR anal in a while.
The August Ames looks excellent. I'd definitely want to see her more than once on DarkX. As far as male talents goes, Mandingo, Lex, Moe and Rico should definitely be the go-to guys. I watched all of the trailers, and the impression I got from doing so is that kissing does not seem like it will generally be a big thing in the scenes. Plenty of DogFart scenes have kissing too, but it's usually not very much, though there are wonderful exceptions like Aria Alaxander's scene with Nat Turnher. The same may possibly be true of DarkX, and that might be a deal breaker as to whether I subscribe to the site or not.
