I'm not arguing that a business cannot be established using social media as a basis or marketing tool, especially in this day and age. But porn is a different matter. First of all, people follow pornstars on social media to see what they post on social media, for free. They're not necessarily following because they have any interest whatsoever in expending money to see anything else. Secondly, if they do want to see the stars' paid content, there are many ways to find it online for free, along with millions of other free porn videos featuring myriad performers that they could watch instead. Therefore the likelihood of social media engagement translating to paid purchases is bound to be lower. [Link]
