Mit 23 Jahren hat sie nun ihre Karriere beendet. Im Interview spricht sie über gesellschaftliche Tabus, ihren Spaß am Sex und das nötige Muskeltraining. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Frau Grey, kürzlich spazierten Sie über das Münchner Oktoberfest. Wie oft wurden Sie erkannt? Grey: Ständig kamen Fans, begrüßten mich und baten um ein gemeinsames Foto. Es war lustig: Die Männer schauten mich lange an, bevor sie sich trauten, mich anzusprechen. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Sie sind Superstar in einer Industrie, deren Filme meistens im Verborgenen betrachtet werden. Genieren sich Ihre Fans? Grey: Nein, es ist nur ungewohnt, mich in einer normalen Umgebung zu sehen. Erst war es merkwürdig, überall angestarrt zu werden, aber solange ich das Gefühl habe, es nicht mit Besessenen zu tun zu haben, bleibe ich entspannt. Ich lebe in Los Angeles, einer Stadt, die vom Entertainment geprägt ist. Dazu gehört auch die Pornoindustrie, die viele Menschen beschäftigt. Erkannt zu werden ist da normal. Es war letztlich mein Plan, erfolgreich zu werden, ich darf mich nicht beschweren. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Stimmt es, dass Sie Ihre Karriere in der Pornoindustrie als Teenager sorgfältig planten, um mit 18 loszulegen? Grey: Sieben Monate vor meinem 18. Geburtstag begann ich, die Details dieser Industrie zu recherchieren. Ich hatte die Highschool beendet, war im College und jobbte in einem Steakhouse als Kellnerin. Dort wurde mir meine Wirkung auf Männer bewusst, weil ich viel mehr Trinkgeld als alle meine Kollegen bekam. Es war bizarr, ich war nicht stolz darauf, aber ich registrierte, dass es so ist. Ich studierte dann Interviews mit Pornodarstellern. Zu einer von ihnen nahm ich über MySpace Kontakt auf und fragte sie aus: Wieviel verdient man als Frau in einem Film? Wie oft wird man gebucht? Was wird erwartet? Ich machte mir Listen mit den Pros und Contras, in einem Porno mitzumachen. Die Pros überwogen, und als ich 7000 Dollar zusammen hatte, ging ich nach L.A. und versuchte mein Glück. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Was reizte einen Teenager aus geordneten Verhältnissen mit Schulabschluss ausgerechnet an der Pornoindustrie? Grey: Ich passe nicht ins Klischee: Ich hatte nie ein Drogenproblem, keine familiären Dramen und bin auch nicht dumm. Das Bild weiblicher Pornodarstellerinnen ist meistens stereotyp und falsch. Pornos faszinierten mich schon lange. Das begann, als ich 16 war und meine Jungfräulichkeit verlor. Im Zeitalter des Internets war der Zugang zu Pornos problemlos geworden. Ich schaute mit Freunden aus Neugier einige Filme und war beeindruckt. Ich habe mich als Mädchen lange für meine sexuellen Gefühle geschämt. Der erste Sex änderte das. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Inwiefern? Grey: Es war, als ob eine Lampe in meinem Kopf angeht, als mir klar wurde, dass Sex tatsächlich Spaß macht. Ich fragte mich, wofür ich mich so lange geschämt habe. Bald konsumierte ich sehr viele Pornos. Einerseits machte mich das an, andererseits realisierte ich auch, wie öde diese Filme sind, dass da etwas fehlte, um sie wirklich spannend zu machen. Mein Plan war, diese Lücke zu schließen. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Wie würden Sie diese Lücke beschreiben? Grey: Das ist schwierig in Worte zu fassen. Pornos sind zweckgebunden, sie zeigen was die Konsumenten sehen wollen. Ich fand aber, dass die Umsetzung phantasievoller sein könnte. Ich behaupte sogar, dass in Pornos Raum für Kunst ist. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Nehmen wir das mal an, aber: Wollen Pornofans Kunst? Grey: Natürlich nicht, das ist ihnen völlig egal. Wer Pornos anschaut, will immer nur schnelle Befriedigung, das ist auch mir klar. Aber man kann dem Publikum die Kunst ja aufdrängen, denn zuschauen tun sie ohnehin. Und diese Kunst wollte ich beisteuern. Ich wollte außerdem Frauen vermitteln, dass sie sich nicht für ihre Sexualität schämen müssen. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Entschuldigung, wir verstehen leider immer noch nicht, worin Ihre Pornokunst besteht. Grey: Sie besteht darin, dass ich als Person, Mensch und Charakter in einem Pornofilm wahrgenommen werde. Das erreichte ich zum Beispiel, indem ich immer direkt in die Kamera sprach, was mir gerade durch den Kopf ging. Ich durchbrach, was in der Theaterwelt die "Vierte Wand" genannt wird, was bedeutet, dass ich einer imaginären Handlung einen Hauch Realität verpasste. Dadurch irritierte ich die Zuschauer, die an dezent stöhnende Frauen gewöhnt waren. Die Idee war, dass Männer, wenn sie befriedigt sind und ihren Computer ausschalten, immer noch darüber grübeln sollen, was ich ihnen da eigentlich vorgeführt habe. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Unterschieden sich Ihre Auftritte denn so sehr von denen Ihrer Kolleginnen? Grey: Oh ja! Die meisten Frauen lassen in Pornos alles wortlos über sich ergehen und das habe ich immer gehasst. Die Rollen in Pornos waren klar verteilt: Der super-maskuline Typ beglückt die dankbar schweigenden Frauen. Mein Plan war, die männlichen Darsteller zu verunsichern, ihre Maskulinität klein zu reden während der Aufnahmen. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Das bereitete Ihnen keine Probleme bei den Dreharbeiten? Grey: Viele Männer waren geschockt. Sie waren es gewohnt, vor der Kamera die Kontrolle bei einer Sexszene zu haben. Das verweigerte ich und übernahm, wann immer es ging, die Führung. Das war für viele Männer schwer zu akzeptieren. Glauben Sie mir, das war ganz einfach, weil ich unerwartet eine Routine durchbrach. Außerdem war ich physisch und verbal bereit, Dinge zu tun, vor denen selbst viele Männer zurückschrecken. Das war der Reiz. Eine Orgie zum Einstieg SPIEGEL ONLINE: Sie müssen der Albtraum vieler Pornoregisseure gewesen sein. Grey: Das war ich. Aber ich war ja sehr populär, deshalb mussten sie mich buchen. Ich wusste, was mein Name wert ist, und das machte ich zur Not auch deutlich. Filme sind immer ein Kräftemessen zwischen Darstellern und Regisseuren, und ich war gewohnt, zu gewinnen. Kontrolle ist alles, besonders bei Pornos. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Sie klingen sehr abgeklärt. Hat Sie am Pornogeschäft nie etwas erschreckt? Grey: Oh, die Risiken waren mir voll bewusst. Es waren ja gewaltige Risiken. Angst machten mir vor allem zwei: Der Schock für meine Familie - und natürlich das Risiko, sich mit etwas Gefährlichem anzustecken. Aber ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich beides bewältigen könnte. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Wie war es, zum ersten Mal vor der Kamera Sex zu haben? Grey: Es war viel besser, als ich befürchtet hatte. Ich machte bei einer Orgienszene mit! Das klingt extrem, ist es aber nicht, weil bei einer Orgie die Aufmerksamkeit nicht bei mir liegt. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Wie definieren Sie eine Orgie? Grey: Es müssen mindestens fünf Menschen miteinander Sex haben, damit es als Orgie durchgeht. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Wie bereitet man sich mental auf eine Sexorgie vor? Sasha Grey: Ich habe wie gesagt viel gesehen, gelesen und physisch geübt. Wenn Sie es genau wissen wollen, ich habe auch ausgiebig mit Dildos geübt. Meine Muskeln trainiert, Orgasmen geprobt. Viele Pornostars haben untereinander Beziehungen, und das geht eigentlich immer schief. Da fordert der Mann dann auf einmal die Frau auf, endlich auszusteigen, was unglaublich verlogen ist. Außerdem ist die Eifersucht bei Pornodarstellerpaaren unfassbar groß! Ich und mein Freund haben immer offen über alles gesprochen, deshalb sind wir noch zusammen. In diesem Job zu lügen kann schlimme Folgen haben. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Kann man behaupten, dass Pornos mittlerweile ein akzeptierter Teil der Unterhaltungskultur sind? Grey: Das ist wohl so. Das liegt aber vor allem daran, dass jeder mit einem Computer heute mit wenigen Klicks alles zu sehen kriegt, wovon früher nur phantasiert wurde. Aber viele Menschen fühlen sich immer noch von Pornos bedroht. Zwischen der Sexualität in großen Kinofilmen oder Werbung und der Pornografie verläuft immer noch eine feine Grenze. Viele Erwachsene spielen mit Pornomotiven in Kunst und Unterhaltung, sind aber entsetzt, wenn sie tatsächlich einen sehen. Sexuell gesehen ist unsere Gesellschaft noch entsetzlich verklemmt. Das Unbekannte macht vielen Angst. Und das ist andererseits der beständige Reiz von Pornos: das ewige Tabu! SPIEGEL ONLINE: Bekommen Heranwachsende, die viele Pornos im Internet sehen, nicht ein groteskes Bild von Sexualität? Grey: Nicht nur Teenager, auch Erwachsene! Viele Männer und Frauen denken, was sie da sehen, müssten sie im eigenen Bett auch leisten. Was natürlich großer Quatsch ist. Aber es ist auch eine selten ausgesprochene Wahrheit, dass gar nicht so wenige Menschen gern mal Dinge ausprobieren würden, die sie in Pornos sehen. Sie trauen sich aber nicht, das auszuleben. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Sie sind in diesem Frühjahr aus der Pornoindustrie ausgestiegen. Warum? Grey: Ich hatte schon länger keine Lust mehr. Ich hatte alles erlebt, wiederholte mich nur noch. Und weil in letzter Zeit immer mehr Angebote für Rollen in regulären Filmen und TV-Serien kamen, machte ich Schluss. SPIEGEL ONLINE: Vermissen Sie etwas von ihrem Pornoalltag? Grey: Das Absurde! Das habe ich meistens geliebt. Teilweise sogar den Sex, ich habe da viel gelernt. Aber vor allem vermisse ich die Sicherheit. Ich hatte ein festes Einkommen, feste Arbeitspläne. Das ist alles weg. I just think that looking at it from the kids' point of view, it's messed up. I mean, what kind of message are we giving them? Who'll now go home and google "Sasha Grey" . Boys who think the guest actress speaker was hot, and girls, who will now have looked at her as a role model because she's supposedly famous and is in movies. Don't even kid yourself by thinking they may not go home and look her up. I don't care how many publicity stunts these young girls in Hollywood with their publicists pull, I just think exposing such young kids to that...is a bit wrong and damaging to their mentality in several ways. Seems a bit desperate, to stay in the news. If she went to NYU to read something to college students, I would not have a problem with it one bit. Then again, it wouldn't make it to the front page news now...would it? It's just my point of view, that's how I feel about this...we should always look at things from both point of views. Just because we all love porn and like or used to like Sasha Grey and her work...doesn't mean we should just look at her interests and totally ignore the outcome of her actions on others. You'll have to tell me exactly where and when she was one for me to believe you. What I see is a young woman with a plan to get into porn and to somehow parlay that porn fame into something different. I don't want to take anything away from her but I've always thought that she was luckier than anything else. The reality is that if Sasha had come onto the porn scene in the last 18 months then we wouldn't still be talking about her except to say that we wish she did mor stuff. She arrived at just the right time when studios were still shooting porn everyday. Here was an attractive 18 years old woman with very few inhibitions when it came to what she wanted to experience on film and it paid off. Is there one studio that she didn't shoot at least one video with? I won't debate if it was real talent, pure luck or a mixture of both that got her the starring role in Soderbergh's The Girlfriend Experiment but what is clear is that opened up some avenues that would never have been there prior to that role. Here was the out from the porn industry that she had always planned for and she took it. I have no problem with that because Sasha gave plenty to her fans so that anything che chose to do after porn is fine with me. In regards to that little debacle with her reading to children in a school. Clearly this will never happen again and I suspect that some heads will roll but it probably won't be reported in the news. The school tried to pretend the incident never happened but the pictures online pretty much prooved that she it did. I have no problem with Sasha reading books to children but my question is why was she asked to do it? Is she the only celebrity willing to do it for free? Is she the only celebrity willing to do it without getting publicity? Her mainstream claim to fame is a starring role in a small indie movie and a recuring role as herself on Entourage. [Link]

If it was and Sasha was presented as a an actress and was expected to tell the kids what she did to get where she is, then I think it was wrong for her to do it. Not because I think it's morally wrong but I don't think she should have done it if the kids were interested in hearing more about her and went home to have their parents do so and Sasha's porn/porn career popped up on the net. Otherwise, if it was just a girl named Sasha there to read to kids, I don't see why it could be a bad thing. [Link]

Vanessa was in a class all of her own and an amazing performer in what I consider to be the golden age of porn. Vanessa was doing anal and dp's when most other performers avoided it. She wasn`t there for anything other than read children books to elementary kids. I don`t know exactly how she was introduced so unless they mentioned her name as Sasha Grey and that she was a celebrity then all they will really know is the shit storm that happened after this nice lady came to their school to read them stories. The kids look about 6-7 years old in the phtos so it`s unlikely that they are aware of any of the mainstream work Sasha has done. At least I certainly hope they are otherwise kids are watching Entourage. [Link]
