There are dozens (probably much more) of women that currently hold my interest, not to mention those over the last 15-20 years I still have a fondness for in my heart (I'm talking about you Taylor Hayes, the Seymore Butts, not Vivid, version). Sasha was, and still is till she says she is not, a great young hard-edge performer, but she is not currently available, which is what makes us want her so G-damn much. It's like she's a contract girl to mainstream media, instead of Vivid, or Jenna, or whatever... The longer she's not on the gonzo circuit, the more she elicits the greedy little children in us all. Bree Olson is a great example, and she was still making scenes with Adam and Eve. We wanted her as a gonzo girl, open to any and all who could get her to shoot, and when she came back she became an instant money maker. What's the math on making money selling a video? For example, Bree gets 5k a scene, so the production company needs to sell 2-3 hundred units before they see a profit from her paycheck alone? And with people moving away from DVDs to web-content, they can buy just her scene online for a fraction of the cost. Will Sasha make money off her reputation as a hard-edge performer, because she needs to be ultra nasty for many of us to want to see her. Jenna Jameson was a fluke who rode the DVD revolution, the internet wave, and a certain awakening in America to the majority of adult stars being willful particpants, not victims of circumstance. There were many avenues for her to generate money that were not available to stars before her. Jenna was Jenna, but her time has passed. Can Sasha make money on simply her own web-based content, if that's how she chooses to return? Or is it more likely that she irons out a handful of deals with rights to a percentage of their return? I hardly think she'll be a mainstream film star, and I doubt it's her ambition. She'll need to make her future money in the adult industry - but in what capacity? Too many of you know waaaaaaaaay more about the financial viability of being a star, director, or production company than I, no doubt about it. I have a feeling that Sasha has a window of opportunity following The Girlfriend Experience, and she'll either jump into adult again to make some quick cash, or she'll stay out almost altogether because she believes there are other avenues for her to make money. That's what it's about, money. Here's an interestng question... Would you pay an extra 5$... 10$ for a video if it featured her? Say Jules Jordan re-released Dangerous Curves, which currently sells for around 30-35$, with a bonus scene of a recently shot Sasha Grey and it cost 35-40$ Would you buy it? Would you pay an extra 5$ each time she did a scene? That is probably a ludicrous question, but I always like to throw out a "what if", just to keep a creative perspective to a communal issue.
