I don't know how many DVDs they sell these days or what their actual revenue looks like, and I can't give exact numbers. But one thing they need to understand is that loyalty doesn't come only from what you've released in the past. Loyalty is also judged by what comes next. Sometimes you need to rejuvenate your brand and revive your fanbase from its deathbed. The key is to bring old wine in a new bottle-keep the essence that fans loved while presenting it in a fresh, exciting way.

I remember all of their iconic series, but Women Seeking Women was always something special. It's as if they've forgotten it ever existed. If I were running their production, Women Seeking Women 200 would have been released long ago with an iconic cast, blending legendary performers with fresh faces to build for the future.

Now, you'll probably say there aren't many veteran performers left in the industry. But Angela White is still around, Eva Long is there, Alison Rey, Siri Dahl is still performing, Lauren Philips and Mindi Mink even returned for She's Seduced Me. Yet GFF Films couldn't bring her back for another scene? That's honestly surprising. And let's not forget Violet Starr, who also shot plenty of scenes for GFF Films.

I don't know what their future looks like, but the reality is that, judging by their current attitude, it seems very bleak to me. You can't keep resting on your laurels forever.

That's why everything feels like Girlsway, GFF is being maintained the way you do your grandfather's old car: covered with dust, in need of a major overhaul rather than a tuneup with alot of new moving parts. That's what kind of what I meant when I brought up AHL because they still retain that sordid soap opera like feel to their scenes and it works in my opinion. I have nothing against Gamma mind you but there is a real concern that the more studios/networks that Gamma quietly assumes control of or quietly takes principal influence over - that it will all begin to look and feel the same rather than feeling distinctive. The distinctiveness is what led to GFF becoming an industry titan in the first place. I feel like the reasons to watch diminish greatly if every scene looks, feels and comes across as identical to all the others. Lesbian Legal was fun series that did its own thing, different from WSW. The Creepers Family, The Mother Daughter Exchange Club and Cheer Squad Sleepovers all managed to have a unique flavor. Who can forget the whole Thornhill saga that overlapped from Girls In White to Imperfect Angels to Field of Schemes to Twisted Passions? It was like giving taboo this elegance upgrade that was rarely found at the time. Daniel kind of hit the nail on the head: "Meanwhile, AllHerLuv is releasing The Help, featuring Octavia Red, Sawyer Cassidy, Annie King, and-best of all-it even includes a fourth performer, Kell Fire, just for a conversation scene. That's the kind of effort that helps create a richer, more connected story and the most important thing one scene shooted in night time the other shooted in a day time." That is precisely why I said GFF could learn a thing or two from AHL/MissaX because they are willing to experiment, they are willing to incorporate a variety of elements into their scenes and while not every scene may be a slam dunk - I appreciate the effort because it often works. I was never really into Futanari but they even found a way to put that into a GG scene and have it just fit(no pun intended).

I wouldn't say I liked every scene on the DVDs that were put out at the time but it was still worth a buy if I could get into 2-3 of the four that were on each volume.

"Lesbian Stepdaughter-in-Law 7" doesn't exist. I guess you meant "Lesbian Step-Daughters 7" (Girlfriends Films, 2024), "Lesbian Sister In-Laws" is up to volume 3.

Every single one of the series Whisper mentioned is what got me anticipating the next release from GFF. But a few years ago there weren't any releases that excited me enough to view, let alone purchase. Over time I simply gave up following, the last I liked and got was "Cheer Squad Sleepovers 28" (Girlfriends Films, 2018).
I had access to the site for a month in December, 2023. Spent a while watching those classics Whyspers2Scorpio mentioned, Thornhill series, yeah. Then I left because there wasn't anything, even disparaging comments to the effect where one of the performers didn't really seem interested.

As it is, given the way the of the world, I'm not sure you could do things like the hotel scene in "Cheer Squad Sleepovers 10" (Girlfriends Films, 2014). So they would necessarily need to change. Not only to add relationship-separating terms ("Step", "Dad's", "Friend's", etc.)

There's no reason that "Dad's Lesbian Lover 4" should have performed badly, it seems well liked and reviewed very good. Perhaps it's the single instance against a flow to some place else.

Ah Amalia, deep dark eyes, round-oval face, looks like an innocent or the very distinctive girl next door. Seen plenty of her in VT, Sex Art, and recently in a Straplez. Unfortunately I did a search here in AdultDVDtalk forums and found sceen captures of BGs featuring her. Firstly, way back when teenage or first something and another in Blacked. Those go back a couple of years.

Not that Mike Quasar's straight intercourse well setup, well shot, well directed scenes is anywhere less significant to fandom or industry.

Maybe all of the studios moved on since they need to produce enough to stream? Even if things have a theme, they might not be ultimately connected. It is probably cheaper and easier, especially considering releasing scene by scene for streaming. However, my not negligible disclaimer is that I only have a cursory knowledge of contemporary releases.

Isn't this the way of the world these days?! It can still be good, very good, great. Cling to the long gone days of their story based films if you like, but it's probably a forlorn hope. What is not forlorn is that a scene or scenes released in this way can't be excellent.

Looking at the films I have, the closer it gets the longer the time between scenes of a film.
Considering "The Circle" (Viv Thomas, 2014); "Sex Message 3" (Viv Thomas, 2015); 2-3 days between scenes. "Discreet Service 2015" (Viv Thomas, 2016): 3 weeks between scenes.

I admit I don't follow much, but from what I know, is it only Girlsway which occasionally release a concept film as one total viewing (Straight Girls, 2026)?
Also all of those services that have lessened their releases, i.e. Slayed

If they do bring Bs into it then they've lost me! I won't even think about them, at least not in a contemporary, present way.

The reduction in GG has been a discussion throughtout ADVDtalk forums, each person suggesting a cause, quoting industry sources, supplying tweets, B Skow. Poor talent coming in both performer and director, never mind all the other crew. Do we think Mike will do this ongoing and have the "director's megaphone", the clapperboard taken from his dead hand.

This is key. Nowadays, The conversations between 4 or 3 performers shown on Cheer Squad Sleepovers or MDEC are impossible. GFF made a difference because of that particular erotic atmosphere built through the dialogue and seduction.

How much does it take to have those four women hang around for a bit, these days?

Yeah Daniel, let people like what they like, even if it's scene-by-scene releases. Although I'll withhold judgement until I've seen the entire thing, if I can be motivated.

Say what you will about 'art core' porn; there's a reason why the VMG has been the gold standard of excellence when it comes to American porn studios: every established pornstar or rising new female performer has either shot with them or wants to shoot with them, those who have been in scenes for everything from Vixen to Blacked to Slayed to Deeper have all had nothing but praise and appreciation for the experience. The way they are treated, the volume of input and control they are given over their scenes from the male/female talent to setup to the location ought to be a blueprint for GFF. It's not luck or a coincidence that in 12 years, the VMG has ascended the mountain but has remained the undisputed king of the studios; the reason is because Lansky is absolutely brilliant and wisely created a company that could not just function but flourish without him. That could remain the ultimate name on every performer's wishlist of companies they would give anything to work for. GFF takes a few notes and they could become a cornerstone of G/G scenes yet again. Before anyone accuses me of kissing up to the VMG, let me state clearly for the record that I am hardly a fan, I've watched a handful of their scenes but what I have seen of the few I have watched is absolutely incredible. More so than Gamma; VMG's scenes are so rich, sensual, visually luxurious and stunning that even I'm watching with in excited awe.

There was a time when getting booked by GFF was like getting an Associate Degree in G/G porn, anyone who was going to be strictly G/G or planned on starting that way, was dying to get the opportunity. Jenna Sativa, Shyla Jennings, Dani Daniels, Kenna James, Samantha Ryan, Karlie Montana, Allie Haze. Sarah Vandella, Gianna Dior, Sinn Sage and the list goes on with almost anyone who is seen as a powerhouse G/G having earned their stripes with GFF. They didn't become a cornerstone by throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks, they got there by putting out scenes that actually gave time for both performers to get fully aroused to reach orgasm which is far more enjoyable than a lot of the over the top stuff that was prevalent during that time.

VMG mega offering 95% BG in more and more hardcore offerings shouldn't be what GFF should become, nor is it even possible to reach that level.
We've got no idea about the direction GFF is even attempting to take. What kind of content do they want to produce? We don't see or hear anything from them, just consume what eventually comes out and hope it's good. But why pay attention if they're not trying to entice us.
I'm here for the long passed time of Dan's extended storytelling. I've virtually given up all hope that things will improve.
It could partially be solved by a few crafted social media posts. At this point I'm not sure they've got anything to say. Though I would have been interested to know about Amalia Davis and Kendra James.

Whyspers you make thorough and detailed posts. Who is there to drive that change? What kind of management structure is in place?
I'm for them keeping extended story based features, though has that horse bolted?! No doubt studios need to change with the times and audience tastes, but how drastic would that need to be?
Do they not allow their performers to post? Where are the "Look who I got to work with today."

Kind of feel like we'd be flogging a dead horse on the subject of getting GFF to be good, let alone great again, and I'm against animal cruelty.

I'm checking studio sites and order GG scenes by rating, a bit dubious but anyway. The first few pages, page after page of scenes 2019 and before, sometimes 2016 or earlier. Don't know exactly what that means, but I'm assuming it isn't at all good news.
