You might have had an excellent argument for your point of view if Carter had not recognized the problem and fixed it by tying her hair in the scene. Now you may think I'm nitpicking and you may be right but my view is simple. If the performer, the director and the producer think the performers hair is a problem in some shots because the performer keeps pushing it out of the way (to allow the camera to see the action) then they should have recognized that it was going to be a problem and fixed it before shooting or fix it and re-shoot the sex scene with the hair now tied back. The other option was to let the hair flow naturally thereby hiding the view of the kissing but that would have been okay in a scene that is over 40 minutes long and the hair is probably only in the way for maybe a total of five minutes. Filmmaking 101 is you never break the fourth wall because it automatically kills whatever fantasy you are trying to create. In looking at the director and/or camera operator or pushing you hair out of the shot are all things that break the fourth wall. I would add chewing gum but in some cases that can be part of a specific type of scene. I've be watching some older GFF videos and they fixed the hair problem in a few ways. The most common is to have the other performer push it out of the way by moving their hands on either side of the face to better position their partner for the kiss. Another is to position the performer as to make the hair not as much of an issue because it almost never falls in front of the shot.

I'm VERY happy that Serena is shooting more these days. I think outside of the GW forums she is an underrated performer. I thought this was a great scene and like the other poster mentioned the face sitting was awesome.
^ gotta agree on Serena. I have no idea how she isn't popular with any of the other websites. Not only is she gorgeous, she's also a fantastic performer. ^Your post implies that other lesbian studios are unwilling to book her when it's more than likely that she simply doesn't want to do all that much porn and what GW offers her is more than enough. If you checked her IAFD page than you know that she has worked for plenty of other studios over the last seven years. Kink and GW being the more common one but she has worked for other studios. I'd also like to point out that while she hasn't worked for LesbianX. It doesn't mean that they haven't approached her and are just trying to work a schedule that is convenient to Serena. ^ Serena doesn't live in LA so she isn't available as much as other girls, but she's more than willing to shoot as much as she can while she's there. Mason has never reached out to her for LX and every scene on IAFD listed as GFF is actually a GW scene that they distributed on DVD. She was scheduled to shoot for Women Seeking Women but she was one of the girls who got screwed by the hurricane last year forcing tests to be delayed a few days.

I'm in no way privy to any information on how much she wants to work, so maybe you're right and she's happy with the amount of work she gets lately from girlsway and isn't interested in working for other companies. If that's the case, good for her. I, as a fan certainly wouldn't mind seeing her work for gff, who apparently had her booked but it fell through, lesbianx, sweetheart video, who she has worked for quite a while ago, or even ftvmilfs, who are willing to call anybody past 25 a milf. There's probably some other websites that do GG or solo scenes which could certainly use a talent like her, especially if you look at some of the less than mediocre content they release.

A porn scene is a performance. We all get that fact. It's expected the participants(almost always in US porn) are going to add a vocal element to the show. It's hard to know where to draw the line. Love the energy and attitude Scarlett Sage brings to the job. But, believe now she's distracting from her own good work. Also, agree with Eva that a comatose performance is worse.
I can only speak for myself when I say Im a big fan of Scarlett Sage. I too love her energy and enthusiasm. Watching her as she first started in her Girlfriends Films scenes I dont recall her like she is now. Maybe I might be wrong and need to go back and rewatch some of those scenes. Girsway has great scenes and bad scenes. I agree with you about silly comedy like scenes. I also like the more 'realistic' setups. However. I like the sex and taboo talk. You mention the reagan foxx & kali roses scene. This is a perfect shot scene.. except for the lack of talking (and I don't mean big dialogues). They call that series momslickteens. but you never hear any taboo talk during the scenes. So whats the point of calling this series momslickteens? No company is perfect.
