Don't forget to invest in some Lezcoin with Carmen Caliente and Jenna J Ross. But in other news, it's great to see Ella Knox make her Girlsway debut in Mommy and Auntie, even if it's in a dreaded threesome, she's got some experienced partner in Penny Pax and Reagan Foxx. Hope she comes back soon in a one on one scene.
Lesbalien Abduction is return to the more unconventional fare that Girlsway was more known for. It stars Scarlett Sage, Samantha Hayes, and Carolina Sweets in an interesting concept for a scene.
^Maybe they felt the same way you do because none of the upcoming 12 updates are threesomes. Now if they can also stop using leather sofas to shoot some of their scenes then I will be happy.
Sorry to dig up a week old discussion, but work's been busy and I wanted to give a few things a proper response.Honestly, I think it's that they're easy to be pleased. The forum isn't aggressively negative towards other studios, but there obviously is a clear preference to GW which makes sense. However, the only time you ever really see criticism of a scene is if the models don't fit in the preferences that members have (basically, any non-white or Latina model), there's too much or too little fake incest talk, or the scene doesn't have enough story/occasional quality of said story. The quality of the sex almost never gets brought up, rather as long as it checks the boxes, the scene is great regardless of the content. For the few that mentioned the hair flip being a red flag, a little trick that I tell myself is that their hair is in the way of eating their partner(s) out. Having long hair, there have been times where it ends up in my face and I've had to pull it back. Granted, it's never as pronounced as it is in porn, but it does happen. As for Bree posting here, I don't think it's too bad since she's directing for her other site and the Girlcore series, but it's telling of a different symptom. To be perfectly honest, Piper and Chloe being named GOTM with their GW track records felt more like a way to promote PT than it did for GW. Piper's scenes had been criticized for their quality and Chloe has yet to have that breakout scene for GW, while working more often for PT. Bree gave Alan more control of GW, but I'd either like to see control fully given to Alan as he's there all the time or for there to be a return to how things were structured pre-PT. Right now, this middle ground where Bree's making final decisions of content but not being involved in their creation I feel is a big reason why the quality is falling.
^Sounds about right. And sad to hear that the core fanbase doesn't seem care about the actual sex at all. And it is clear that Girlsway is in the rear-view mirror for Bree at the moment, and it seems like the same thing will happen to Pure Taboo once its formula is perfected, and she will move on to another venture. But I do hope that Girlcore, or something else will inspire a renewed interest G/G, but this time approaching from different angles, or at least some of the approaches that Girlsway has left at the wayside. Anyways, Nia Nacci is still surprisingly dabbling in G/G in Teach Me to Twerk with Chloe Cherry.
I'm about to go on another GW rant. Let's start with Lezcoin. Who at GW thought that it would be a great scenario to shoot? I've seen complex porn scenarios get hashed out in under two minutes before jumping to the sex portion but somehow they wasted seven minutes of Jenna pitching her idea to make money before being coerced by Carmen into having sex with her. The monologue was fine if Jenna was auditioning for a commercial but was really annoying in a porn scenario. The entire scene is under 28 minutes and they used a quarter of that time on Jenna's monologue. Something that ultimately has very little to do with the rest of the scene. If they had done a good sex scene then we might have forgotten what came first but there was zero chemistry between both women and you could probably generate more heat rubbing two ices cubes than you did by watching the two women interact with each other and don't get me started on Carmen's constant giggling. They again used some kind of leather of fake leather sofa and you could hear the noise the performers skin did as they moved on it. Overall another completely forgettable scene from GW.
The majority of the members of GW are men(like me). Safe to say we may not have the same appreciation of quality as you. Pretty sure men's taste in lesbian porn is different. Both Jay Sin and Jake Malone put out popular lesbian lines in the last couple decades. Can't believe their stuff played well with the female audience. If you don't mind, can you give me an example of a lesbian sex scene from a non-porn movie that you thought was well done?

If you don't mind, can you give me an example of a lesbian sex scene from a non-porn movie that you thought was well done? ^There's no denying that we have varied taste in regards to lesbian porn in the same way that we have varied taste in regards to b/g porn but in general most of us expect certain things to be in lesbian porn and if they aren't then our overall enjoyment of the scene will greatly suffer because of those omissions. For me no kissing, very little kissing or passionless kissing are all things that are guaranteed to annoy me and therefore reduce/eliminate my enjoyment of a lesbian porn scene. That said I kind of enjoyed many of Jay's g/g movies and kissing was not really part of those movies but I didn't actually think of them as being lesbian movies so much as penetration movies that happen to star only women and that's why the lack of kissing did not mean that I wouldn't enjoy the movie. Here is a small list but I can give you more if you want. Starting with my favorite. Below Her Mouth. This movie should be studied by everyone who is thinking of shooting lesbian porn. http://www.indiewire.com/2017/05/below-her-mouth-review-lesbian-porn-sex-steamy-1201811756/ The next one is a Korean movie called: The Handmaiden. I'm not sure if there is an English version because I have only seen the subtitled version but aside from being an amazing movie with a great love story. It has a great lesbian sex scene that is filled with passion and heat. http://www.indiewire.com/2016/11/the-handmaiden-park-chan-wook-oscar-korea-consider-this-1201749845/ Last but by no means least: The French movie: Blue is the Warmest Colour. That one I would say has by far the most explicit lesbian sex scene that I have ever seen. http://www.indiewire.com/2013/10/review-blue-is-the-warmest-color-169284/
^ Good taste on Below Her Mouth and Blue is the Warmest Colour, never saw The Handmaiden though. I completely agree with you, for me lesbian scenes are all about passion which means kissing isn't something to rush about and especially it's a deal breaker when is noticeable that a girl clearly doesn't enjoy being around other girl and kissing almost seems like a torture to them. In this same notion of passion, the more intimate/erotic the scene is the better while hardcore acts involving squirting and toys aren't something I personally appreciate. While Jay Sin lez movies are an exception, for me it feels like it's more related to the fact I do enjoy anal than anything else, if those scenes where to be vaginal is very likely I wouldn't enjoy Jay Sin at all.
Funny thing is that a lot of Lesbians claimed that the sex scenes in Blue is the Warmest Colour were unrealistic. But then again, a lot of Lesbians also claimed that Tribbing is not a thing. Anyways, I also believe that good kissing is a critical part of good G/G scenes. Passionate prolonged kissing is key throughout a scene or at least a good amount should be found at the beginning. I think it only enhances scenes even if it's not the focus. Anyways, rising Girlsway star Kenzie Reeves is back with Bridgette B., who is still only being used for Mommy's Girl in Shared Experience.
^A lot of lesbians would probably use the word unrealistic about most g/g porn too tho. Still...I'd be surprised if there was one definition of realistic sex in movies and porn all lesbians agree on. Personally I found the sex scenes in Blue is the Warmest Colour hotter than most of the tribbing action I see in g/g porn. More kissing, teasing, foreplay etc would be great, but it's sadly not a criticism/suggestion GW seems to listen to. Something that also would add more passion/intimacy to a scene would be more oral, more of the oral/fingering combo and a lot less tribbing. With the right performers scenes featuring hardcore acts (anal, toys, squirting etc) could still be passionate and erotic too tho. I thought GW was on the right track with the more romantically themed scenes they did. It's a pity they seem to have completely given up on those. But hey...GW members seem to prefer family roleplay, reluctance and someone getting abducted by aliens before screaming their way thru an entire scene so what do I know...
I don't know if you read the review I linked for Below Her Mouth so in case you didn't then here is the title: Below Her Mouth' Is What Lesbian Porn Would Look Like If It Were Actually Made By Lesbians. To emphasize just how different it is. The first line of the review is...There is no scissoring in Below Her Mouth. There is scissoring in both The Handmaiden and Blue is the Warmest Colour but it looks a lot more natural in the Handmaiden movie. That said I suspect that some lesbian do in fact perform tribbing/scissoring with each other but it's not as common as porn would make us believe. Then again porn should never be the source you use to get your information on sex because it's a fantasy.
I'm a man and I think it's unrealistic so I can just imagine how much worse lesbian must think it is because they know first hand all the things that producers do wrong. That said are lesbian directors/producers capable of putting out better lesbian porn? I mean Bree is responsible for most of GW's lesbian videos and I can't say that most of her stuff is all that great.I Agree but I could have used a lot more kissing but the rest was amazing and probably 100% hotter than most porn scenes. If what is essentially a midcore level lesbian scene can be hot then why can't an actual lesbian scene be just as hot? Is it only because you have two professional actresses with acting talent or is there something else?Is it that they don't listen or that they honestly don't know how to get it out of their performers? How many GW performers are gay for pay VS actually gay so while gay for pay performers will gladly pretend to like what they are doing? They are not able to do it believably because they aren't gay. Even if the performers are gay. It doesn't mean that if you pair two of them together that they will be able to fake an interest in the other person if they don't feel any chemistry. I mean hetero women have sex with men all the time in porn and often they look like they would rather be somewhere else so why wouldn't lesbian feel the same? Faking interest is probably something that most porn performers can do but I doubt the majority of them can fake passion.I may complain that GW has done another incest themed scene but the fact is that I don't really mind them because more often than not they are so pathetically short that if you skip the first two minutes of any video then all you are left with is two(or more) porn performers faking an interest in what they are doing to each other. Case in point the recent Penny, Ella and Reagan scene. It was another threesome with pseudo-incest but it had potential and they didn't start fucking two minutes in the scene so that was a huge plus but the negative start when Penny says that she is friends with Reagan from way back when they went to school together. Penny is 29 and Reagan is 48. Someone should have realised that it made no sense and made Penny an ex-student of Reagan(who could have been her teacher). It would not have altered anything from what followed and made for a more logical scene. The back and forth dialogue that Penny and Ella have with each other is rather good and better develops their relationship to the yet to be revealed Reagan and make sense. I would have preferred longer dialogue before going to Ella's room but we can't have everything. The following shot should have been from Penny's view point has she looks at Ella's ass going up the stairs. The rest was pretty good but the scene should have been much longer because Reagan basically only comes in once more than half the scene is done.
Thank you for your response regarding mainstream movies. I did watch The Handmaiden and enjoyed it (story & sex scenes). I'm fine with the subtitles, it's much preferred over dubbing. It was an Asian version of Fingersmith., the English miniseries. Never watched all of that one. My attraction to Kim Min-hee added to the enjoyment of The Handmaiden. As for your other 2 suggestions, I'm familiar with some of the sex scenes in both. I was a bit amazed at the explicit nature of BITWC. I know both actresses have expressed some regret regarding their participation in long sex scene.
I decided to watch Fingersmith after seeing The Handmaiden because I found out that Handmaiden was based on Fingersmith. It was rather disappointing because Handmaiden is such an amazing movie. Now if only an American or European director could do an English version to compare because while Fingersmith is in English. It was made for TV so they couldn't do as much with the lesbian aspect because of the censors. The sex scenes in BITWC are definitely midcore to light hardcore and while I have read that the two actresses are somewhat bothered by the sex scenes. They seem to be far more annoyed with the number of takes the director did for various scenes then they are about the sex scene itself. In many ways their description of the shooting style of the director remind me of what some people said of Hitchcock and Kubrik.
Oh of course our tastes are different haha. I can only speak for myself and my wife, but neither of us have any expectation that porn will portray sex in a way similar to how we/any partners we bring into our relationship have sex. At least if I did, the way most girls eat pussy would make it impossible to enjoy any porn lol. Despite going into things knowing that I won't see anything really close to realistic, this does align some of my expectations to be in line with what most others here have said that kissing and perceived passion are incredibly important, unless the scene is just completely over the top (which is where I feel Jay Sin falls) which can be hot in an unrealistic way. I honestly do not care if a story is in a scene or not, but if it is there, it needs to compliment the sex rather than be more important than the sex. Club 59 came the closest to realism than pretty much every other studio has (hence why Lesbian X is such a profound disappointment) while the GFF/Nica Noelle Sweetheart duel of the late 00's/early part of this decade also check this box. Outside of Jay Sin for OTT scenes, some of GW's best scenes fall into this on a narrative level which can help the sex even if it doesn't necessarily have the passion I mostly look for. I would disagree with Pat that Blue is the Warmest Colour is realistic (albeit it's filmed in a way that does make them hot), but I would agree with Below Her Mouth very strongly. In addition, I recently saw the film Disobedience and felt it's on par, if not stronger, than Below Her Mouth. Additionally, while the scenes were too short to classify on the level of the previous two films, I felt Carol portrayed the relationship and sex incredibly well. re: Lezcoin: While I haven't seen the scene yet (waiting for the Memorial Day sale to sign up for a month), I honestly haven't been impressed with either Jenna or Carmen in their GW work since they both returned outside of Jenna's scene with Kate England. Pairing the two of them together when they've needed a partner to elevate them just seems like poor quality control if it wasn't a last minute pairing decision. But, it definitely sounds like another scene where they put too much focus on a story and forgetting about everything else. And again, there is no critical comment about the short length of the scene or the quality (as I'm deferring to you about that Pat) from members. ^^^^ I think it's a combination of all three factors. There are plenty of scenes that hit the build to the sex in a very good to excellent way, but often times the members just don't react as positively as they do for some tepid scene with their favorite models and/or a story that's OTT. It's fine in small doses, but almost half of the scenes released in the first 4 months of the year either had reluctance, fake incest, a sci-fi/outlandish scenario, or a combination of two or more of these things. Unless a scene is just universally bad, the members tend to heavily downvote constructive criticism which makes it nearly impossible to give proper feedback on what works/what didn't work. This means that the motivation to make the sex better isn't there and focusing more on pairing for name value rather than performer quality. Sure there are some models that just aren't into women at all and that comes through (see every scene Darcie's ever done), but I'd say with the popular GW models it's closer to 50/50 on those who are just great performers versus those who actually enjoy being with women. It's a matter of booking performers to their strengths rather than name value and that's something GW has rarely really done right. Alan's mentioned times where they've spent 12-14 hours on single scenes that aren't part of features. Most of that ends up being the more "elaborate" setups that end up being the wacky/unrealistic scenarios rather than the realistic ones. When they shoot two scenes a day, it's going to be a rush job for that second scene. ^ You hit on something great with the "let's just get it over with" mentality it seems a lot of directors have. Look at Mike Quasar's twitter. It's really funny on the surface, but when you think about it, it's a microcosm of why people aren't paying for his product. If he's going to put the minimum effort into a scene, the product is going to suffer. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy that people aren't going to pay for work that doesn't even try to hide the apathy that it put into it. GW has the opposite problem that too much time is put into some things over the other. I was talking to one model about how they had heard about an 18 hour day on set for one of the features. While I appreciate that the features shake things up, the quality hasn't been there ever since The Turning for a multitude of reasons (The writing for the 2016 features was at best bad and things didn't work out on a casting level for almost every feature has on a large level been for name value rather than talent, which placed models in roles they weren't suited to or underutilized models than are great in their roles.
It would be interesting to see what Girlsway would look like if they put the same amount of emphasis on the sex as they do on the storylines and set ups. And this includes casting performers with partners they have chemistry with, that compliment them, or will cover their weaknesses and can elevate them. Although I do understand the appeal of wanting to see certain performers in a scene together.
^Normally I wouldn't ask this but are you being sarcastic? I mean can you give me a list of five scenes where you thought the sex was very good because while there are some good ones. The vast majority of all GW scenes all lack something that would make them very good.

^ Not Aya but I'd say the Celeste/Lily series, Carter/April, Serena/Angela (though I can see why people might not like it as much as I did), Riley/Giselle, and Keisha/Chloe to me were all very good.
^^I believe there are more than 5 but I don't have the time luxury of creating a list. But it would be unnecessary since you don't seem to think they have done anything that is more than mediocre. Anyways, Chloe Foster is back after a 4 years in Lesbian Hospital - Gyno Appointment with Sarah Vandella. And it's a double debut of Quinn Wilde and Monique Alexander in Love and Hate. Despite their go to models, I do like that Girlsway seems to be making an effort in terms of Model Debuts, and are casting both up and coming newbies, and well-known veterans. They are also bringing back certain girls who haven't been on in awhile.
I'm here and I hear you! Just because I'm not on the forefront so much anymore at Girlsway, doesn't mean I'm not involved behind the scenes ;) I try to get on ADT as much as I can, but it's been tough last couple of months as my schedule grows. But I promise to step up and make more of an effort, especially on this thread!
I find this very interesting to read Eva, as it deviates so far from the truth. Alan and I choose each GOTM together. We have a dedicated brainstorm at several points throughout the year to talk about who has impressed us and why we feel they warrant having the GOTM title. Never once did their work in Pure Taboo (or any other studio) come into the discussion. The choice is made based on their work with Girlsway and Girlsway alone. And it's more than just their scenes. It's their passion, personality, and behavior on our sets. Both of those models, in particular, were recommended by Alan himself. That's the truth. As for a misbalance between us for overseeing the GW brand, I'd like to understand a bit more about what you feel I'm withholding from him or how it is setting the brand back. As you know, we care very deeply about Girlsway and are always eager to improve.
^Glad to see you back, and it's very encouraging that you are willing to discuss the concerns being brought up here, even if they are mostly from those who fall outside the core fanbase. But it's not surprising that since you haven't been able to stay in regular communication like before, that these perceptions on what is going on with GirlsWay have developed.
Maybe it's worth pulling back a bit to see what kind of conspiracy theories pop up :P I always find them fascinating to read ... but, in all honestly, I will try my best to make myself more available here to comment and answer questions and concerns.
^Maybe you have answered this question before Bree but I have never seen a reply and I am curious to know what it means when you are the producer of a scene.
As Girlsway's producer, I oversee all our production activities including casting, budgeting, scenario planning, editing, and working with Stills by Alan to bring our studio's vision to reality. In layman's terms, I'm the one Alan calls when he has a question or situation ;)
^Well firstly, I'd like to commend you guys for steadily bringing in new girls and giving them a chance to shine, as well as bringing back Girls who haven't been on the site for awhile. Also the revivial of Girls Try Anal was a good move. But on the other hand, I wonder why there will be only 1 Feature this year, and why Mini-Series were dropped. Although it is good to see the Vignettes continue, it's disappointing that they are no longer presented as well as they used to be, with the lack of logos. Also, this may have more to do with the performers themselves, but it is too bad that there have been no new "Model Fantasies" or "Real Girlfriends" scenes. But anyways, The set and costume design looks great in A Flapper Girl Story with Jenna Sativa being in the middle of the attention of Eliza Jane and Ivy Wolfe. Also hoping to see Olive Glass who is in the background make her official GirlsWay debut soon.
Alan's feature, Wastelands, is the most ambitious project we've ever developed for Girlsway. Between pre-production, shooting, editing, it will represent almost 8 months worth of work. We simply cannot do more than that when we also manage over 15 days per month of standard shooting. We also found that many of the mini-series were under performing, compared to other projects, which is why we focused his creative efforts on bi-monthly DIRECTOR EDITION scenes this year instead. These are still productions that he writes and directs ... similar to the mini-series but within one single episode. I agree with you on the presentation of the vignettes, which used to have logos to distinguish them, but our marketing teams found that the thumbnails with heavy graphics and logos did not generate as much interest as a strong image which is why they changed that visual direction. At the end of the day, we also have to cater to what our data tells us from the majority of viewers. And, it's as you suggested, we haven't had any model fantasies or real girlfriend scenes this year because nothing has really presented itself as an opportunity as of yet.
^Thank you for the detailed response Bree. It's understandable that the increase number of scenes being shot would make it difficult to continue shooting multiple features. But with all the work being put into it, I'm looking forward to how The Wastelands turns out. And it's too bad about that the Mini-Series under performed, but you can't argue with cold hard data. It's a shame because there were a lot of interesting stories and characters being developed. Hopefully they can live on in the occasional spin-off. And regarding the vignettes, since a logo will be created for the DVD release, from the outside it's surprising that just adding the logo along with that strong image actually hurts the performance, but that's the way it is. Anyways, like I mentioned before I'm happy to see the increased variety in the casting whether it's ladies we've wanted to see for awhile like Emily Addison, Nicole Aniston, Cory Chase, or giving shots to newer up and comers like Ella Knox, Joseline Kelly, Moka Mora. I hope they all get another chance to shine. And when you can, I would love to hear more about the "Girlcore" series.
I've never been too bothered about stories so the sub-par sex in Girlsway is often pretty apparent to me - as it's all I look for in porn. Even at 5 scenes per week I cannot justify a lengthy membership and will instead join up every now and then for a large scene grab. I don't think this is a strictly Girlsway thing though, it's an issue with all GG porn unless the directors specifically work against it (I understand why this would be hard for Girlway to do given their emphasis on story driven porn). The sex in GG can usually be determined just by looking at the casting. For example if Angela White is involved you can be pretty certain that the sex will be good. The same goes for the likes of Georgia Jones, Julia Ann, Abella Danger, Elena Koshka, Ryan Keely etc. There's a list of probably 2-3 dozen women who will rarely let you down in a sex scene. The problem is that there's also a group of 2-3 hundred other women who just cannot fuck, and many more on top of that who - although experienced - are inconsistent or prone to phoning the sex in. These women are usually fine when paired with the aforementioned 'sure things' (Angela White & co), but paired together more often than not will lead to bland sex with nobody really taking control of the scene. Because of this I believe it's important to always use a 'sure thing' in a scene if you want the sex to be good, similar to what WLT used to do with Dani Daniels and Malena Morgan. I sort of look at my ideal GG porn scenes similarly to how BG porn is shot - where the emphasis of the scene is on a young and attractive 'starlet' being fucked by the more dominating talent - not so much a back and forth (although they both obviously need to receive attention). Lily Cade was my favourite performer of all time and she (by her own admission) would essentially be 'male talent' with the emphasis on her controlling the scene from start to finish and often wearing her opposite performer out. Good examples being her scenes with Kota Skye, Alex Grey & Lola Foxx. So in short I don't believe the sub-par sex is a directorial problem, but more just the impossible issue of balancing girls who can act or fit a certain role and girls who can fuck well. Carter Cruise continues to steadily pop up on Girlsway, this time with likely future GOTM Lily Rader in Sneaky Sisters And Scarlett Sage continues her G/G tear that you would never have guessed she used to do B/G. She's paired up with Girlsway OG, the newly blonde India Summer in Mom's Breast Advice Edited by - Aya on 5/26/2018 5:00:48 PM
I have a rather long list of questions so hopefully Bree can find some time in what must be a busy schedule to answer as many as she is willing. These aren't in any particular order and they can be long and convoluted(my brain is convoluted) so I apologize ahead of time for the rambling way I am writing them. Many of these questions are similar and therefore one reply may answer them. 1-Why are the majority of all GW scenarios shot in a single room instead of multiple rooms/locations? 2-Wouldn't most of your scenarios benefit (story wise) from having normal conversations between the performers shot in a room that isn't the bedroom instead of what you currently do for most scenarios? 3-Why aren't the scenarios better developed instead of relying on 2-3 minutes of dialogue before getting to the sex portion? 4-Why aren't the sex scenes longer like 40 to 50 minute long? 5-Why isn't there so little deep passionate kissing in almost every GW videos? 6-Why is there so little kissing in general? 7-Why is there so much rimming in place of actual pussy eating?

Hey Bree, Can you guys try for more diversity on the site. More Black and Latina performers would be a nice change.
^^ Hope you get your answers. I'll wander into # 7 for Bree. Members like ass licking and plenty of it. When it's missing from a scene, it's often pointed out in the comment section. Here is another example. Towards the tail end of the Malena Morgan reign at Reality Kings, our girl stopped licking ass in the scenes. There was an immediate negative response from the viewers. Honestly, I think it would be difficult to work with any regularity in g/g scenes if you didn't rim. I'd wager if they had a poll at GW regarding ass licking, the members would vote for more, not less. Edited by - aclayfan on 5/28/2018 1:38:45 AM

If we're talking Analingus - Abella Danger should be at the top of the list. The facial expressions she makes while getting her ass eaten are UNREAL. Seriously, I almost want someone to paint a portrait of her face in that particular state of bliss. Sinful Scorpio, Passionate Aries
I'll do my best to be as concise as possible on each of those questions. While you have mentioned before that there's more to it than just scene performance when it comes to GOTM, the common thread for every GOTM outside of Uma Jolie is that they've either had a breakout performance that put them on the map for members or were placed in a big role. The more I think about Chloe getting the award, the more I feel it was just a bit too early rather than to reward work elsewhere. I think she would have had that breakout role if given the opportunity, but I still feel like it was a bit too soon similar to how Jenna Sativa was given the award before she hit really hit her stride. However, Piper definitely feels like it was given for her work elsewhere than for her work for GW. Knowing the typical turnaroud you've mentioned from scenes being shot and released, she had shot once for GW in nearly two years before being awarded GOTM. In fact, it's likely that her showcase was shot before her return scene was even released. Meanwhile, she shot several times for PT in higher profile roles and unlike Penny Pax who is the only other recent GOTM who had a bit of a gap between her previous performances and the timing of her getting the award, Piper did not have a feature/breakout role that could be pointed to from the past. All of those factors mix to create a feeling that I was not alone in having here that it felt more for her work for PT than GW. As for the second question, it ties into the greater issue I have with the content on GW right now. Part of it is just that what I'm looking for (putting the sex as the premium and making sure the story compliments without overwhelming it) just doesn't seem to be what the larger audience wants from the site. When you have to fit so many fake incest terms to fill a quota or else members get upset, certain scenes are going to come up short in that regard and I've come to accept that. The issue that I've seen though is because Alan hasn't had as much of an opportunity to be creative, the "regular" scenes are suffering from it. I thought GW was really hitting a stride while Alan was able to do his mini's alongside the features. The era between the mini's of AI and Kristen Scott's Skip Day was in my opinion the strongest of the site. Alan was able to be creative, models were given roles between your features and his mini'that resulted in the regular scenes being spectacular, as models were seemingly fighting to prove themselves to get into one of those coveted roles. Now that there's no outlet except the one feature for GW a year (which does not have a model in a main role that has never been in a feature or mini before), there's a disconnect for the standard scenes on a creative level. Pat touched on it with his question about some scenes only having 2 minutes of exposition, and while I'm one of the only members that would be fine with just sex and no story (as I feel sex shot right can tell a greater story than any amount of dialogue), a poor build hurts the sex more than there not being one at all. Whether it be by choice or other circumstance, it's becoming clear that the scenes that Alan feels stronger about on a creative level are given more time either on a narrative or sexual level. I did take advantage of the Memorial Day sale for another month and while I haven't watched the scene yet, I noticed a comment on the Chloe/Nia scene on how everything felt rushed in it. It being a simple scenario, frankly I'm not surprised nowadays to read a comment like that. I did watch the Jenna/Eliza/Ivy scene, though. While I think there was sadly an enormous missed opportunity for some seduction that was based in the era which the scene occurred, it's obvious through the set, how each model looked, and Alan's reaction to the positive feedback that he cared a lot about the scenario and took the time to pull it off. That rarely happened when you both were running things and after you left for PT and Alan was trying new things with the mini's, even if those didn't always work. That's why I feel like there needs to be some sort of shift to get that creativity back and suggested going to extreme levels to do so. Outside of Fantasy Factory 2, just from looking at the production schedule there's nothing on the horizon that even remotely looks like it's pushing the site forward in a creative way. What made GW great is that there was always an attempt to try something new whether it was going to be popular or not. You mentioned that there haven't been any model fantasies that have come up lately, but I haven't seen any push from either you or Alan for models to give you guys fantasies outside of GOTM's. Meanwhile, PT has model-written stories from Angela and Lena that came out in the last month, with Whitney saying that she wrote one as well. I'm sure that just between those three, there could have been at least three model fantasies for GW that would have fit what the audience looks for. I just really think that spark needs to come back because otherwise, the site's just going to end up like GFF where you basically know what you're going to get every month.
Regarding Pat's questions, my guess on scene length is that they probably wouldn't be able to pump out 5 scenes a week if they went over 50 minutes long. But I also would like to know about the lack of kissing in most Girlsway videos. One reason might be that a lot of the scenarios involve set ups were blackmail, coercion, and reluctance are the main themes, which don't exactly lend themselves to the more romantic nature that involves prolonged kissing. I've often mentioned how I would like to see more scenes involving mutual attraction which would lend themselves to more kissing. And related to Eva's concerns, it does seem that Girlsway now has a crystallized formula that works and are no longer willing to take the type of creative risks that made them so popular in the first place. There is still experimentation but not really risk taking. It's great that models love to work for the site and enjoy themselves, and there are often great pairings and debuts, but the mandate now seems to be just stick with what works, don't upset the members, and make sure to cast who they like often. But what makes it all the more glaring, is to see how excited Bree and performers are working for PT, and all the innovation and accolades happening there, it's like what Girlsway used to be. Like I mentioned before, I would love to see the same type of approach applied to GirlsWay, but the thought seems to be that it wouldn't work at all. Anyways, the next installment of Lesbian Hospital Phony Doctor is here with Charlotte Stokely & Whitney Wright. At least the Vignettes are still here for now.
^^ To add to your point about scene length, when asking for scenarios recently, Bree's asked in the forum for submissions that are limited to a single set. When I asked if it would be beneficial to add in character development to those simple scenarios, she replied "The simple one-room second scenes can allow for some character development, but keep in mind that they are shot with much less time than the first scenes of the days. Think a couple hours compared to 8-10 hours." That ties directly into my point of the lack of experimentation/innovation whether it ends up working or not and your point of how the approach for PT could be applied to GW. I don't think in terms of tone that PT could or should be part of GW unless it's a model specific fantasy and it's accompanied by her explaining out of character why she's attracted to the story. While coercive and blackmail scenarios are popular with the members, when it gets too close to the line of non-consent, there's been massive pushback. However, the focus on acting absolutely could be part of GW and would give the opportunity to be creative with the narratives and how they're presented. But when Alan is responsible for 18-22 scenes a month and it is explicitly asked that submissions from members be "simple" enough to be shot in a few hours, that's never going to happen. I do think it's partially a problem just how much catering to the current members there's been over the last year. I don't know if Girlsway just isn't doing as well as it was in 2016 (though it's clear from member engagement that at least Mommy's Girl isn't close to the peak it had) and keeping current members satisfied is keeping the site going, but it doesn't seem like this over-reliance on reluctance and fake incest is bringing in new participating members as it was a few years ago. Additionally, and I know it's likely just me, but honestly for Bree's only tweet for the month of May about GW congratulating Chloe for being named GOTM but for there to be dozens of tweets about other projects doesn't help the feeling of GW not being a priority. I don't know if either hiring a second director, Bree coming back to co-direct, or Alan being the sole decision-maker on the stories is the right answer for there to be more developed scenes and for the excitement and experimentation to return to GW, but I don't think the current path is one that's going to keep GW at the forefront if another studio/director decides to invest in the genre. EDIT: I do want to add though that I think a fair amount of these issues could be resolved with a greater focus on the sex. It's not going to make up for a lack of innovation, but great sex can make a poor story almost irrelevant. Edited by - eva93 on 5/29/2018 1:28:59 AM
I loved this one. Charlotte was awesome! I got to work with Jill Kassidy and Abigail Mac today for Girlsway. Yesterday I worked with Abigail as well for All Girl Massage. I felt like we had REALLY great chemistry, so hopefully that translates well on-screen. I'll be interested to see what you all think about it! :)
