I'm Paige Jennings, formerly known as Veronica Vain a.k.a the Wall Street Porn star. Long story short, I think there's big gap in the market for a modernized streaming platform. We have sites like adult empire and others that do offer streaming, or even streaming minutes, however the heart of their business still resides in DVD sales which reflects on the user experience of their site - which feels like a DVD store, and not a streaming platform. This is likely intentional on their part because they cater to people who enjoy collecting adult DVDs - likely an older audience. Juxtapose that with the pretty much the only two other ways to consumer porn digitally - via niche paywall sites, premium tube site services, and good ol' free porn. But what if I want ONLY Riley Reid, and all of her scenes she's made? Tubes sites won't consistently have full length, high quality scenes of her. Premium services might be a bit better, but I still have to visit those tube sites and see lots of content thrown at me that I can't unsee. I definitely don't want to paywall hop and pay $500 or more just to gain access to all the pay sites and download the content I want. Honestly, why don't we have Netflix for porn? Or what I think would actually work better - Amazon prime for porn? The Netflix model doesn't quite work for porn because it would call for a lot of very old, dated and lower quality content to constitute the bulk of the subscription content due to how costly licensing for this type of model can be. With Amazon prime however, you could have both a subscription model as well as a la carte to allow the user access to the newest and bestest content available. So that's what I've built. Albeit, at launch we won't have the subscription option - that comes later with more traffic and users and when we can finance more original content. Vuli is a next-gen *streaming only* a la carte Netflix style porn platform. No downloads because it's costly and caters to a minority, but we WILL have a filterable personal library and we will eventually try to offer an offline mode which Netflix now has. So many people in the adult industry think "Netflix style" means a subscription model with content from a multitude of different studios. But to me it means so much more. It means user experience, convenience, modernization, personalization, vetted content, ethical standards, and top tier data organization. The best part is the platform tailors itself to YOU. Do you like straight AND trans porn sometimes, but other times don't want to see it? Go to user preferences and toggle those off or on. NEVER want to see bondage? Dislike something with bondage in it enough times and you'll never see it. Vuli uses advanced machine learning and extensive, custom built metadata to completely personalize itself to your sexual tastes over time. Find something fresh, featuring a girl or guy you like, with your favorite positions within minutes. Yes we already have content deals with reputable, well known studios , though we won't have quite the full library of other VOD sites *at first*. Oh right - how did I do this? I raised over $200,000 from doing that, which is not enough for making this as big as I'd like but it is certainly enough to get it off the ground. The content is shot differently than what you're used to...think Hollywood sex but very extended with incredibly erotic shots featuring the full bodies and movements of the performers in a unique way. They also include discounts on all content for the duration of the relevant time period, cool Vuli swag, access to our Discord where you can put in your two cents on the direction of the company, your name on the Founders Wall which will be on the site at launch, and more. I'd love to hear any suggestions from you guys below about what could be added to the founders packs to make them even better. Please note that if we don't launch, founders will receive refunds. The founder money is only going to post-launch expenses like operations, original content production and marketing, which would be unnecessary if for some reason we don't launch, but the site is in Alpha right now so I can't imagine it not launching. Doing so would exclude getting brand new scenes on the platform, because of the way licensing works and because everyone else has a subscription site and they want those scenes to drive traffic to THEIR subscription site and not someone elses. Eventually I'd like to build in a subscription option a la Amazon prime video that includes all Vuli Original Content as well as whatever third party content we work out licensing deals with, but that's going to cost money to get up and running (the right way) so it's a long term goal. People in the business already do offer netflix-ish subscription options with original content, but they buy a TON of crappy content that no one cares about in bulk to fill out the library so they can say get instant access to 1000000000000 scenes but you'd only want to watch like 5 of those scenes, haha (I'm exaggerating).You're definitely missing something haha. Vuli will be primarily selling third party content and only making and releasing Original content for marketing and profitability purposes. For example, I can't use someone elses scene to market Vuli unless I do some special licensing deal, but if I own the content outright I can use all the footage and photos for use on tube sites or where ever else I'd like to drive traffic from. The platform is definitely launching this year - we have a functional test site and are currently building metadata for ingested content and training our models etc etc.Actually I'd argue quite the opposite unless you define avid collectors as people who NEED a physical copy of content (DVD boxes, hard drive). We're trying to build discovery such that a person who LOVES porn can always find something fresh, within their tastes featuring their favorite stars and buy JUST that piece of content and be able to store it in their personal cloud library. We've tried to build a library that makes it easy to filter and search your content exactly for those people who like to build a collection of content, and we will certainly take user feedback post launch for how we might improve what we've built to better serve them. Further, as you can see in my original post, there is a screenshot of the porn star page featuring the picture of Adria Rae. On that performer page you can instantly see all content Adria has been in if you scroll down, including any BTS we may have, and we also easily link you to all her social media - so we actually are catering to superfans of particular performers with these hubs. No offense but clearly they have never heard of AEBN or Hot Movies because both platforms offer that service. I can't speak for how many clips AEBN has but HM already has a million clips available and while there is some third party advertising. It's not in your face so easy to overlook. I also can't help but ask. What's the deal with the Early Adopter for 25$, Founder for 50$, Founder Plus for 150$ and Founder Elite for 1500$. Is this a sort of crowd funding gimmick? I mean it's nice that you get a discount of each scene but seeing as there is only one currently mentioned. No idea what the price of each scene will be in future. I mean I would be happy to get a 25% discount on a 4$ scene but that 25% gets less appealing if each scene is 20$. [Link] |

Of course, the rise of Manwin makes it harder, as they clearly want to be the aggregator, and without Manwin's content, it will be very hard to fully realize the vision. That said, the tube sites are awful, so it shouldn't be too hard to design something better. Manwin has the data that Machine Learning systems feed on, but again, the recommendations they send me are shit, so it may not be that hard to improve on what they are doing. (I would also add that their ads are awful. I watch a lot of massage scenes, including specifically Nuru, and I don't think Manwin has ever pushed me an ad for a Nuru masseuse.) I suspect your biggest problem isn't Manwin, but is the smaller porn producers. They seem wedded to the subscription model. [Link] |

I'm going to announce them when I do a big PR push which should be starting in about a month. To be honest I haven't felt the need to "name drop" so to speak. What content we have for launch isn't what matters as much at this point, what matter is THAT we launch. If the product is good, studios will come. I also don't want to over-hype anything because it becomes difficult to manage expectations. For example a lot of movies and games get tremendously over hyped and then they release and people are like well it was good but not life changing. I'd rather underpromise and overdeliver :) Yes I have heard of AEBN and Hot Movies, of course. I know the entirety of the porn VOD market otherwise why the hell would I build this. But as I said in my original post, VOD sites tend to focus on selling DVDs even when they offer streaming. They feel like DVD sites, not streaming platforms. It's not a gimmick but yes it's essentially a kickstarter without being on kickstarter. I have a very engaged Youtube audience and they requested something like this so I made it. People are buying them because I have documented in brutal honesty the entirety of this process in my "startup diaries" youtube series and shared screenshots and the ups and downs for the whole of 2018 so far, and so my viewers know that I am serious and that it is happening. We will launch with 500-1000 recent, high quality scenes minimum from a variety of well known studios. New content will be added every week and our platform is built to scale to tens of thousands of scenes or more (launching with this amount requires a lot of money in hosting costs so we are keeping it small while we feel out the market). Prices will be $3-4 a scene, and you will also have the option to buy a "series" whose price will vary based on how many scenes are in the series. So yes, you could get 25% off a $4 scene if you bought that founders pack. For these founders packs we basically priced it out such that we break even when content is sold and don't actually profit much from those sales to founders due to the fact that we've already profited from them via the crowdfunding packs.We don't see Vuli as competing with Mindgeek. I don't think VOD is an area they are terribly interested in. Honestly I don't think much of anyone in porn is terribly interested in VOD, 1) because they've directly said so and 2) because they don't think it works that well. We really kind of don't even consider ourselves competing with AEBN, hot movies etc. because we think we are catering to mostly a different type of customer - basically someone who doesn't buy much porn if ever, but who would buy it IF it was delivered differently and better. Current adult VOD sites cater to long time porn buyers and DVD collectors. Further, big companies have money but move slowly. It's tough for them to explore new ventures because startups require a lot of fast reaction times that can be tough to get from a company with a lot of hierarchy and structure, which is why big companies tend to just wait for little companies to start growing and getting traction so they can just buy them without enduring any of the growing pains it took to get there. I'd argue that no one in porn actually has *good* data. Your algorithms are only as good as how thorough and organized your data is. With how much porn is made constantly, it's tough and expensive to keep the data consistent and well thought out. So that's why most scenes just get 5 tags and call it a day. That's not enough to capture compelling user patterns. It's also why there's no pervasive search term for a hot chick in her mid-twenties - we only get teen or milf yet most of the hottest stars are mid-twenties "bombshells". How does that make sense? I tend to like sites that offer a variety of older/recent content because I discover girls I've never watched or heard of before. But for specific girls for more recent content, this sounds great because I cherry pick content by a girl I like without committing to a DVD worth of stuff just to get perhaps one or two scenes I have an interest in. I have lots of DVD and have only watch about 40% of them because I bought them for specific performers. This type of porn purchasing model can make things easier and less expensive for people who follow specific girls. [Link] |

That means that there hasn't been an offical update of the sites status since August but anyone stumbling on the site can still buy one of the four possible membership thinking that they will get more than what is currently available on the free portion. It's also important to mention that nowhere does Paige mention on her Twitter feed the status of the site. How long do you think it would take her to actually post something new in the Vuli Blog, her You Tube channel of even on her twitter feed? Since you have spoken to her recently than what can you add about the status of the site? We all know that it's not going up in 2018 but when in 2019 is it going to have those 500 to 1000 videos available to paying members? [Link] |

There was a whole lot of extra problems that arose during the development process that postponed it by a year (full details found in the startup diaries playlist on my YouTube channel), but now I'm happy to say we are running like a well oiled machine and posting additional features and new content every week. Studios that work with us (by us I mean predominantly me and my 2 developers and 1 lawyer with me being the majority owner) so far include Evil Angel, BAEB, AE Films, Vision Films, Tasha Reign Productions, Pornpros, Spizoo, and even more on the way. You can currently get early access for just $5 (though we only have about 100 scenes up right now but I post more at least every other day - it's just me processing the content and I have a high standard) or become a founder if the perks in those packs appeal to you. To be clear: it is NOT A SUBSCRIPTION MODEL. Think of this like AEBN or simply Amazon Prime but without so many purchase options, no DVDs or minutes and only "stream for life". So early access = one free scene with Gianna Dior and access to the platform which also means coming into my discord server and partaking in the development of vuli. We do have The Golden Key vuli original up right now with Charlotte Stokely, Gianna Dior, Luna Star and Olive Glass up now though it is suffering from some audio drops that will be fixed within a month. It's very pretty though. I'll probably make a separate announcement post at some point detailing the journey but for now it's late and I was just wondering what's going on over at ADTalk.
