I don't think it is capricious and arbitrary to remove his material. Since EA doesn't own director's work, he is free to find a new distributor. Judging by that, should the girls that shot for him be removed as well? Nobody wants to be associated with a felon. It just sucks that most of his scenes were a work of art and now they are gone. EA is left with whom now: stagliano (who had his share of controversy)? Not looking good at all....

Jay Sin isn't free to do shit because he's in jail. Evil Angel and Gamma are right on dropping his site. EA hasn't been good since Belladonna and Aden Riley directed most of her stuff, then he turned out to be an abusive piece of trash too.
Was anyone aware of this prior to the announcement? I hadn't seen any news about an arrest or a trial, and now he is in prison. Maybe I'm just out of the loop.
I completely agree with you. Removing Jay Sin's content from Evil Angel is the stupidest decision they made. They even said in their statement that his movies had NOTHING to do with his conviction. They should discontinue his work in the future not remove all his fucking content online. NOW, I DON'T CONDONE OF WHAT JAY DID LET ME MAKE THAT CLEAR. I discovered Evil Angel through one of Jay Sin's movies Cream Dreams 2 and became a huge fan of his work. That was the "main" reason why I joined Evil Angel in the first place. Even the solo scenes are gone well like WHAT THE ACTUALLY FUCK! I don't fucking care if you guys strongly disagree with me. eccentric_mike is right Jay Sin is one of the best directors and without him Evil Angel is nothing. I'm pretty sure A LOT of Evil Angel members will cancel their subscriptions because of this reason. I stand by what I said.
^ I agree that EA has no legal reason to remove all of Jay's work from their site, but it probably makes sense from a PR perspective. The religious right holds a lot of power in the US and if they got wind that EA had porn produced over a decade ago from a guy who was recently convicted of a serious sex crime then they would make something of that. I suspect that the managers at EA didn't want to take the scenes down and the legal advice would be that they didn't have to, but the PR people told them to get rid of them.
Can you imagine what life would be like for EA if the religious right, with politicians like Ted Cruz in their corner, had to deal with these (baseless) accusations?
This is just part of the environment we live in.
If someone wants Jay Sin's stuff now then they should follow WillCle's advice and buy them on a PPV site now.
Evil Angel doesn't own any of his content. They are purely a distributor of his content. They ceased being his distributor, which means they don't have the rights to distribute any of his content. Their choice was to continue as his distributor (all his owned material) or cease being his distributor. They chose to cease being his distributor, which I think most people would completely understand, so they can't legally distribute anything of his now.
The woman who Tweeted on this, Bailey Paris?, she also detailed the non-con sex acts that Jay performed on her, alleging that happened to others as well. Until the details get out, it seems that his content may or may not be filled with problematic non-con sex acts that the performers never agreed to/made to do it. Now ask yourself - on top of the other stuff surrounding the issue do you think Evil Angel wants to be airing non-con sex acts, even inadvertently, when the allegation are now public? It's nonsensical if folks stop to think about it for one moment.
Lastly, for the folks that are proclaiming their love for Jay's work, how EA is done, how it's BS, etc etc - his work had been up at EA for years. Why didn't you download it? If you are truly the fans that you proclaim to be, and given how Jay hasn't been producing anything for (how long, years?), with nearly all that content there, ready to be downloaded and saved to your own personal archives - why didn't you do it? I have to ask - How much of a fan are they, really? Me? I save the absolute hell out of the content I love, I don't join sites that don't have the option to download. The option was there for Jay's work. In this digital age, when your rights to view content can be revoked at any time, when the content can be pulled from a platform for any given reason; if you love something, get it, grab it, download it, save it (all legally of course ADT).

Seems there's a new release on Evil Angel with his name actually listed. A compilation but better than releasing Big, Hard and Beautiful 5 but not listing his name although it's his work. Also no one knows the whole story or the details so jumping to conclusions is absurd as he was a very private person with rare interviews and personal information revealed. Slightly more respect for Evil Angel now.

Isn't like Evil Angel gave a shit anyway, even if the story is true or not. They take Jay Sin's vids down as a PR move and nothing else. Evil Angel has a history of allowing known abusers to work for them. Since I stopped watching Evil Angel years ago, I really don't care.

It isn't at all the same. Any other studio can contract with him to distribute his films if they want to. You could set up a studio and contract with him to distribute his films. If he were banned, you couldn't distribute them even if you did get a contract to distribute his films. Not at all the same.
I only learned of this whole situation a little while ago while searching for an old scene from one of Jay Sin's films starring Dana DeArmond. I couldn't find it on Evil Angel's website, which I thought was strange, but I could find it on HotMovies, which led me to come here for more information because I knew something significant must have gone down. At first, I figured it was probably a contract dispute between Jay Sin and Evil Angel, just a business spat of some sort, particularly because the material was still available from third-party vendors like HotMovies. but I never anticipated anything like this. Holy shit.
It was just a matter of time until HotMovies lost the rights to Jay Sin's old material. Likely, they were able to host it for a defined period of time due to some pre-existing contract. Evil Angel wouldn't have been able to do much about that, but upon termination of the contract period, HotMovies would lose those rights and be forced to delete the material, which is exactly what has now happened.
Here's what I have to say about the rest of it. Evil Angel is well within their rights to cease distribution of Jay Sin's movies and remove that content from any storefront that was previously hosting it. It's important to remember here that Evil Angel does not own any of the content they distribute (except Stagliano's movies, I guess), which means they are simply licensing it from the directors and are therefore paying out royalties. I can definitely understand why a major company in this industry would not wish to send money to a guy who is currently serving prison time on a conviction related to child sex abuse. It's not just about the optics either; I'm pretty certain that Evil Angel does not wish to provide financial support to a convicted predator.
I get all of that.
However.
This is undeniably a bad thing for the consumer. Revoking access to years' worth of material without any advance notice, while perfectly legal and understandable (see above), is still an anti-consumer decision on Evil Angel's part. Stag ain't stupid, though, and I think he knew it would be unpopular with some customers but felt that there was simply no alternative.
Ideally, there would be some way for Evil Angel to distribute Jay Sin's material without lining his pockets any further, but since he still owns all of the movies he shot for Evil Angel, I don't see how that's possible. Just because the guy was convicted of a heinous sex crime does not mean he was stripped of his assets.
It would be a different story if Evil Angel actually owned the material themselves. In that case, I'd be railing against this decision, calling it a blatantly reactionary anti-consumer attempt to avoid bad PR, and petitioning for them to re-upload all of his content. However, given the facts of the case, I can't say that Evil Angel made the wrong decision here. There were no good options, but they made the best decision available to them under the circumstances.
And yeah, it sucks that we can't access those old scenes as readily as we once did, but that's why there is a market for used and surplus home media.

so since they removed all of jays material on evil angel site not much point keeping my membership going pretty much all the new stuff doesn't interest me the only stuff i wanted to keep was a few old adriano scenes a batch of classic belladonna and a few rocco scenes too which ive downloaded........ive downloaded a lot of jay scenes elsewhere and also have quite a bit on dvd but there are about 10 or so which i cant find all classics imo too, so my question is to anyone who might know of a site where i can purchase the scenes with decent enough quality and reliable source, you'd be making a bonafide jaysin lesbian gape lover fan a happy bunny thanks heaps.............BRS

Based on all the info I could google, looks like he went to prison and was released in 2021. He's a registered sex offender now so he's probably not coming back to the industry.
