And a Big Thanks to RogReviews.com. Way back before ADT I thought Rog rhymed with grog. Roger T Pipe spent a lot of time showing us the ropes. Thanks, Rog for then, for now!
Steph and I are at a complete loss to explain how amazing it is for us to see this kind of support. I've typed about 25 different things trying to explain myself. Then I backspace over the few lines because it just feels too cheesy/sappy. So I will just say Thank You.
Have these asshole trols ever won a Judgement's in court? Why don't the Cali courts refuse to hear them, they're nothing but nuisance suits for $ with no actual damages. Can ADT counter sue for court costs? It's completely fucked up that they can profit off of celebrities images and not have to pay them while suing ADT. Shakespeare was right.
I'm sorry this is happening to you guys. I love ADT and almost every one here (John Wayne Gacy excepted). Janitor gave me a really nice compliment once. $30 is real money to me but I'll see what I can do. I hope they all get rectal cancer.
Perhaps a link to the fundraiser site / info should be placed at the bottom of new reviews. The reviews are where the big numbers (and retweets by stars) come in, right?
This kind of abuse of the legal system really gets me fired up. Always trying to extort the little guys. I don't know how these people sleep at night! I have only been a member a short while, but I really appreciate how this site gives us a place to discuss our interests and share information. Interests that many of us cannot simply speak about elsewhere without fear of judgement. Thank you ADT for creating a safe, respectful community for your members. Just donated!
AVN have an article. Standard 'copy and paste' stuff, but every little bit helps. Maybe next February ADT will win an award - 'Winner Of The Year' (hopefully). I see 'we're' currently at $3.6K+; in other news, that could buy us a lesbian three-way and a b/g scene - has any one thought about making a porno and funding the defence from the profits (sshh, don't tell FundRazr)?
I was so sad to hear about this lawsuit. Drew and Steph have created a platform where performers, directors, producers, reviewers and porn lovers can come together and discuss topics and really foster community. It was my pleasure to contribute to the #KeepTalkAlive Fundrazr and it's wonderful to see that many others have too. Every little bit helps! Long live ADT!
Some tube site would rip it off or it would get torrented and probably not make a dime (sad but true about today's porn). Not a good idea to be honest. These direct donations are great.
I’m a regular contributor at Pornusers.com. I started a thread on the forum there hoping that any overlapping members might lend their support and contribute here.
I don't know if I'll ever get used to the incredible outpouring of support Steph and I are receiving. There's a lot of stuff happening outside of the public eye. Important things that don't show up on the fundraising totals. To give an example, the owner of PornPros.com called me yesterday. We don't know each other. We've never spoken before. But he saw the news articles about our problems and wanted to reach out and help. A company like PornPros has to deal with some of the biggest content thieves and piracy scumbags. They have a lot of experience in court enforcing their Copyrights. We spoke for 90 minutes. He took the time to go through the entire Federal complaint against us point by point. I learned some very important strategy tips and also learned of other precedent-setting cases that directly apply in the lawsuit against us. It was far more valuable than any time I could have spent talking to a lawyer. It's the kind of knowledge you only get from hiring lawyers and actually being in court.
Did I miss where the lawsuit is posted, I didn't see it? I've been victimized a few times by patent trolls in the past, and the unfortunate part is, its usually more cost effective to settle it for pennies on the dime. Any lawsuit will cost you at least $50k to get to trial. For eight images on a user uploaded message board, i'm sure it could be settled reasonably $2-5k???? However there's a chance this lawsuit could be thrown out on summary judgement before trial. There are certain venues that are sympathetic to troll lawsuits esp certain areas in Texas, where lots of patents trials take place. I'm sure this company has an automated process for serving notices and lawsuits and have cubical employees fielding calls all day, and doing the paperwork, there are no high level attorneys writing out these lawsuits. I'm not sure if ADT had a DMCA agent listed on the site, this is one thing that could be problematic, but still due to the nature of user uploaded material, as long as given notice and acting promptly shouldn't be a huge threat. So the real question is would you settle for a few thousand or roll the dice, and possibly spend way more getting to court. Personally to me this doesn't look like a huge threat, but I don't know the background of the person filing the lawsuit. Again, without seeing the lawsuit I can't comment on its merit.

Jules, Do you really mean to be using the term "patent"? Violating a patent would appear to be very different than infringing upon a copyright. And, I'm guessing, would involve significantly different amounts of money and legal costs.
Yes, Goldstein, but this is the other form of "troll" lawsuit and very common. They both file lawsuits with the aim of a quick settlement and very automated.
Jules - I emailed the complaint to your old Earthlink address associated with your forum account here. Also sent you a private message here with a link.

We agree on this entirely. However, patent suits very often involve real damages and provable lost revenues, as opposed to total crap-shoot copyright trolls.
No you're wrong Goldstein lots of patents are very vague, many companies are hit with patent suits which are almost identical technology that takes experts to differentiate, lots of people buy up patent rights, without even having a competing "product", basically professional plaintiffs

Bush DVD spent six months and many thousands proving they don't own ADT. Not much reason in that. We know we got caught up in a web of lawsuits. The reality is we can't afford to respond to the lawsuit without help from the community. Thanks to all who are supporting the site! Edited by - Janitor on 3/28/2016 10:17:33 AM

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Donated $30. Hopefully it can help a little bit in your fight against this trolls. Finding this forum was a gift, and would really hate to see it go. Especially in such a way. Keep fighting and good luck!
$30 and an uncomfortable conversation with my wife about why was a small price to pay to fight injustice. I don't post often but have been a long time voyer of the forums here and appreciate the community you have built.
