I think in American porn, there was an explosion of porn when videomaking equipment became cheap enough for anyone to buy it. And there also was a shift to man-focused porn, which still is true today. So, in the past, the feeling was "Wow, look at that sexy/raunchy/pretty/nasty woman doing all those sexy things". And today, the feeling is "Wow, look at how that lucky dude having his way with that bitch slut....I wish I were that guy...look at how he's degrading her...that looks like fun...what a lucky guy". With man-focused porn, with an emphasis on the sex action, why bother with pretty women? Why bother with fancy clothes if they are gonna get discarded within the first minute. Why bother with makeup if you're just gonna cum on her face? Just start the film with her already naked and save the expense of a wardrobe, and make things easier for the lucky guy to get straight to his business.
