^I honestly don't know how much of his more recent updates are actually recent and not stuff he filmed a couple of years ago and slowly getting released. I do know that the new stuff is tiny compared to all the old content he sort of pretends is new.

These day's he shoots video's with a plastic dong in his pants....trying to make the same kinda vids he use to make with the pissing and all of that...it's just sad to see...he was like a god to me...now I can't even look at his new vids...
He was years ahead of his time. He was vilified for what is now mainstream.
I bumped into him in the parking lot of the Fry's in Burbank. He was with Catalina. I'm pretty sure I looked evil right in the eyes. For her part, Catalina seemed high as heck without a thought in her head.
He seemed to be returning an early generation Sony digital camcorder -- the kind that turned out low resolution / often pixelated scenes that have rendered many of the great scenes of the early 2000s unwatchable.
I liked some of his scenes with Little Sinderella, Barbie Angle, and Chloe Adams. The only time I've seen fear in Taylor Rain's eyes is in a scene with him. One scene a young woman went from being in obvious discomfort (physical / emotional / psychological) to getting into it in ways she never imagined.
^ Yeah, Max has some scenes that aren't easy to watch. I often wonder is some of the models quit the business after working with Max when they may have stayed around and shot more scenes had they started with someone else. Missy Misfit is the best example of this. She came into the business and shot a handful of scenes with Max and then disappeared. I think she could have had a long successful career given her looks, but Max made her do anal and even peed on her. She may have figured that this was normal and quit. Jessie is another model. She shot two scenes with Max and in one of them she's clearly in over her head and Max doesn't let up a bit. I can't think of the model now, but there was a model who shot a scene on the couch by Max's pool who thought she was getting a fake golden shower but it was real and she lost it and started crying.
I agree on your Taylor Rain comment. Taylor was a model who could handle almost anything and her scene with Max isn't up to her usual standards. I suspect she wasn't happy to be there.
I believe that he deliberately made models uncomfortable if he sensed that he could.I think that he knew his target audience and sought to deliver that edge. The same went for Khan Tusion.
By contrast, guys from his era including Brandon Iron, Rocco Siffredi, as well as guys today like Buchanan, Gozzling, and Adriano find ways to put women at ease while doing similar work.
You can learn a lot about yourself from watching Max's scenes. And I think that's a reason why he remains reviled by many.
^ I recall seeing a documentary on the adult business where Max was featured. As with a lot of documentaries on the topic, it really was quite slanted, and if you want to show the adult business in a bad light, who better to represent that than Max Hardcore? The documentary is titled "Beyond Fantasy" and while Max is in the first two parts, it's in Part 3 where he is more of a central character. I'm sure I saw all three parts on YouTube, but while I can find Parts 1 and 2 there now, I can't find Part 3. There is a trailer though that shows Max at his worst, though it is only clips.
The reason I mention this is because it appears that Max is drunk through much of the interviews. That adds to his menacing tone, and the director seems to play that up.
The funny thing about Max for me is that while he started with a unique style, it wasn't the simmering violence and misogyny that he became known for later in his career. He has a series called "Casting Call," and there are a lot of great scenes in there. Yes, they all have a slightly coercive air to them, but that's common in the casting call genre anyway. "If you do this, you'll be rich and famous!" I credit Max for introducing me to Tammi Ann. Max shot several scenes with her and while they weren't GFE, they were nothing like what Max would go on to shoot. I like to say that there is a line that marks Max's shift and that's going down on the models he worked with. In his scenes with Tammi Ann, for example, all which were shot early in his career, Max went down on her (who wouldn't??) but later, it was as if giving the model any pleasure was male weakness.
I recall a series that Brandon Iron did with another male star and they could be degrading too, though nothing like Max. I agree with you that Bryan Gozzling and Mike Adriano bring a completely different approach to what is otherwise a lot like what Max shot (more for Gozzling than Adriano though, as Adriano seems to almost worship who he's working with). I'm not sure about Hoby Buchanan. I've read some allegations against him, but it could be that a model was sent to shoot with him by an unscrupulous agent too.
^ Coincidentally, the national newspaper in Canada, the Globe and Mail, has a story today about the ubiquity of sexual choking among young people. I haven't read the sources for these statistics, but these are frightening if accurate (and I have no reason to say they aren't). It's behind a paywall so I don't think I can link to it.I've never been interested in choking as a part of the porn I watch. Different strokes for different folks, I admit, but I just don't find that arousing at all. I mention this because choking is a big part of Hoby's scenes. It seems to me that it's one thing for a woman to agree to be choked by her intimate partner who she presumably trusts, and something else entirely to be choked in a porn shoot by a man you've just met - and you are alone with him in his home.
I had subscribed to Hoby's site once but once was enough. I don't think he has an updating site now anyway. My recollection is that he went to a ManyVids or something like that where you pay per scene.
