With all the money in porn (okay maybe there's not so much now), I was wondering which actors/actresses (past or present) have done well enough to arguably be worth a million bucks. I'm guessing Jenna Jameson and Peter North might be. I couldn't think of any others though. Any ideas?
I did some googling and will say. . . Jenna Jameson - obviously like you thought, 70 million net worth Tera Patrick - teravision is worth 30 million Ron Jeremy Maria Tagaki - was on a 2.6 million contract Hilary Scott - was on a 1 million contract for 4 years Houston - earned 1 million in 1999 after a 620 man gangbang
Houston did NOT make a million dollars for her 620 man gangbang and Hillary Scotts million dollar contract was largely a publicity stunt by the company who signed her. Hopefully she did well there was no million dollar payday.
She is probably not a true "porn star" in the strictest sense of the word but I bet that Kelly Madison makes a fair bit from her web site(s). Of a similar genre, Wifey probably does OK as well.

Well Jules Jordan is up there. I would also guess Jenna Haze as well. Maybe all the other contract stars who have been contracted for majority of their careers. Girls like Stormy Daniels, Teagan, Savannah Samson and so on. *****The Dr. of Nasty*****

Unless it was reported by Forbes Magazine, I wouldn't rely on your sources to be completely credible.
John and Tricia probably were until the current legal troubles. Nina actually says on Porn 102 that she made and blew a million dollars in about twenty years before getting a divorce and changing her ways.
Remember, the OP's question was regarding a net worth of $1 million. That's accumulated earnings after federal, state, and local taxes and whatever has been spent on living whatever his or her lifestyle entails. Given that, and the time span of most porn careers, I think (I might be wrong) that it would be difficult to suck and fuck your way to a million-dollar net worth solely by performing on camera. Now, starting a business, adding directing, or meeting your fans in private leads the discussion to another area.
Others I wouldn't be surprised to see at the I'm Rich, Biatch!club: Manuel Ferrara Max Hardcore - I'm sure his legal problems have diminished his bank account. Eric Everhard Jewel DeNyle Traci Lords: may not count. Jill Kelly?
I'm surprise no one mention Tom Byron. I'm sure he earn at least close to a million since he's been in the business. I think most of the porn stars from the golden age of porn are like most rock stars from the 60's. Ripe off by their managers and don't any of money from their work.

Thank you for clarifying this point. If you made $1 million bucks but snorted it all up your nose, then you can't really call yourself a "millionaire" so that shouldn't count.
I would say Peter North, Vince Voyeur, Jenna Jameson, maybe Mark Davis (not sure if he has a cut of Zero Tolerance or not), John Stagliano, Rocco Siffredi, Christoph Clark, Jules Jordan, Silvia Saint. I think if a female performer has a website they have a better chance at making more money. Lots of girls (European and American) are posing for photos nowadays, too.
I cant think of a single pornstar worth a million dollars no less any company owners these days... You might have to look to the internet guys to find true millionaires... owners of websites like Brazzers/Bang Bros/Naughty America/Mallcom ect. Talent never gets rich in porn or in mainstream. When I started looking for my first house 10 yrs ago I was looking in Studio City California and I can tell you that as a 3 yr lawyer I was able to buy houses of people you would consider famous -- B level actors and actresses. People that you have seen a thousand times in movies and on TV but didnt know their names... You can be rich or you can be famous -- few get to be both. By the way, performers dont get royalties on DVDs... Michael www.AdultBizLaw.com www.2257Safe.com
Just guessing and these are people that have actually done a scene. Jenna Jameson (did she sell ClubJenna?), Jules Jordan, and John and Karen Stagliano. Ben English and Lisa Ann both own successful talent agencies and that can equal millionaire. I'm guessing Rocco. He does live in Europe where he is pretty popular, is in quite a few commercials/ TV shows, and his reputation as a performer is unmatched. The economy is probably better over there and I'm guessing over there he's the equivalent of a millionaire. I don't know about millionaire but Jenna Haze is probably one of the highest paid between a high pay rate, dancing, and becoming a director. In the near or distant future, I expect Sasha Grey will become a millionaire doing mainstream stuff.
The OP in this thread mentioned Peter North, and I admit I always wondered about him. I'd always heard that male porn stars never made as much as any of the female stars, and it was my understanding that as pornlaw said, talent never gets rich in porn. Yet when I visited North's site on one occasion, he had pictures posted of his new Ferrari. Yes, right alongside pictures of the new models on his site was this supremely hot car, as hot as any of the women he's fucked in his long career. I admit I was impressed--but I suppose that's one of the reasons people buy a Ferrari; to impress people with the size of their--bank accounts. But if male stars don't make as much as their female counterparts, and talent never gets rich in porn--then where did he get the money for a Ferrari? Has he been ridiculously fortunate with his investments? Does he have other sources of income outside of porn? How did he manage it? __________________________________________________________

Fist of all this is not an easy issue to estimate especially for people out of the business. In order to come to a conclusion whether they are able to become a millionaire we need to know the salaries of people inside the business. Lets take a popular female performer into consideration and begin with calculation: Miss Jenna Haze; According to IAFD she has 490 movies, 100 of them are compilations (490 - 100)= 390. However as we know, in some movies she has more than one scene, an estimation is needed to find the number of the scenes. We can assume, in every 5 movies she has 6 scenes. 390 * 1.2 = 470 We need to segment these scenes. 5% solo, 5% girl/girl, 20% boy/girl (only vaginal), 40% boy/girl (including anal), 20% boy/girl (interrecial, including anal), 10% threesomes (including anal) And now the salaries in respect of this segmentation; according to my knowledge (in this froum there are many topics regarding porstar gainings which I have viewed before) For solo and g/g: 800 $, b/g (vaginal): 1200 $, b/g (anal): 1500 $, b/g (IR, anal): 2000 $, threesome: 2500 $ (anal, group sex) Please note, these are only estimations and any objections will be wellcomed. I also make my guess considering pornstars of Jenna Haze caliber. As we all know there are not more than 10 pornstars in this group. Lets calculate for each section; Solo : 470 * 5 % * 800 = 18.800 G/G : 470 * 5 % * 800 = 18.800 B/G : 470 * 20% *1200 =112.800 B/GA : 470 * 40% *1500 =282.000 B/BIR: 470 * 20% *2000 =188.000 3Some: 470 * 10% *2500 =105.000 Total Sum =725.400 There are also other sources like photoshots, magazines, web sites, being a contract girl, dancing or forming new studios owned by performers etc. I do not take them into consideration, such are not visible to measure. As a conclusion when I did not do any major estimation mistake we can assume, Jenna Haze has earned at least around 700.000 USD in her whole career only from performing in adult movies. Such amount is only related for her gainings just from her scenes. Therefore I think there will be not more than 3-5 performers who are able to earn more than a million even if Jenna could not reach it. Edited by - overrated guy on 1/23/2010 12:39:50 PM
^Well, you still have to add the other stuff she has done which you have mentioned. Also signings, mainstream work, and a few other things play a role too. With all that combined I am sure she made the goal easy. Whether or not she saved it all is another thing. *****The Dr. of Nasty*****
WCW: The reason male talent get rich is because of this. They don't make anywhere near as much money as Females do. Most of the rich guys have been around forever. Usually they(the smart ones) go from being talent to being talent while working behind the scenes. There they usually learn from others, how to direct, edit, photograph, etc. Then they move to a more directorial role again while still performing. Now mind you, this is over the course of years. Then they start a website with all of their content and maybe a few others. They also create a production company. Before you know it the guy is *Directing = making profits from his own movies *Performing = making money by being booked for scenes *Producing = profit from other director's movies *Distribution = money to distribute other directors, website or production companies movies *Websites = money from content websites and networks There are other income sources I know I am forgetting too. But yeah, It doesnt really happen for guys for a long, long time. Usually once they start a Distribution company or a Content Websites/Network is when they really see a pay off. Though they become liable to lose a lot more money too. Oh! Another thing that helps them is a small male talent pool. Think about it. You usually see the same 30 or so guys in movies. Because they have made a name for themselves and can be trusted. That means they get hired a lot more. *****The Dr. of Nasty***** Edited by - Dr. Nasty on 1/23/2010 3:08:26 PM
Stars like Jenna make TONS of money headlining at strip clubs, way more than they usually make doing scenes. When she came to a club in my area, Jenna was getting $150 for each lap dance, and the guys were lined up by the dozen for them. This is on top of the several thousand I'm sure she made from the club just for showing up. And she tours frequently. Of course, the answer to the original question has a lot to do with how well these stars manage their money. But I'd be truly shocked if Jenna Haze's net worth wasn't a million dollars. And just to be clear, I think she is worth every penny. I can't think of any interview, movie scene or casual interaction with a fan I've seen in which she has been anything less than completely invested, gracious and upbeat.
Jenna mentioned something on Twitter a few weeks back about NOT being a millionaire. She also mentioned that she is barely breaking even on her JennarationX releases and thus, she probably won't be going exclusive this year. I do agree that she probably makes most of her money feature dancing, which is why she does it so often. And yes, she deserves every penny.

Totally agree... Males have longevity and play in more scenes compared to the girls. However they obviously could not earn as much as the girls per scene. If you take Manuel Ferrara into consideration; he has around 800 movies, 60 of thema are compilations. Lets say he has 7 scenes in every 5 movies and is paid 400$ (???) per scene. 740*1,4*400= 414.400$ which seems to be very high just from performing. It will be enough to buy a super car. However we must admit, stars of this business are the girls and they can earn at least 2 times more than a guy even if he is very popular.

You are right, there are some other sources however they are not easy to measure. We know, some of the pornstars are also escorting but it is not possible to give a forecast related to their gainings from this issue. Edited by - overrated guy on 1/23/2010 9:03:18 PM

First off, just because he has a picture of a Ferrari doesn't mean he owns it. Secondly, I'm sure North is secure enough with himself(given the size of his cock and his firehose style cumshots) that he doesn't need a Ferrari. Lastly, I happened to be walking behind him as we left the Venetian a few years ago during the AEE/CES. He was staying across the street at Treasure Island, definitely not considered high end, and I overheard him making dinner plans. The plan was for a TGI Fridays price range type of place. Bottom line, if he could afford a Ferrari, he'd have other high end tastes.

Other factor that noone mentions is the IRS, plus general living expenses, the cash in cash out style of spending, the instant gratification spending, the immediate Lexus, the spongy manager/boyfriend. I recall reading something here about one of the female stars hosting the AVN Awards, she mentioned having a very expensive designer dress. I thought I read the price tag was $10,000ish. Who paid for that? I'm sure AVN didn't, so if it came out of her pocket you gotta figure that was about 8 scenes or so.
Just because someone is rich doesn't mean he lives that lifestyle. I knew a lady that was worth over $5 million (owned a small chain of video rental stores). She lived in a non-descript house, drove a Ford, dressed normally, etc. She saved her money for a rainy day. Now she is in a wheelchair unable to work but is set for life due to that saving, she doesn't have to worry about finances any more! Most porn stars can't say that.

Yes, diversification of income streams is the key. Few people get rich from the one income source - particularly when most porn careers only last a few years. I would doubt there would be many, if any, performers that could ever make a million from their scenes alone. Although I don't know the details of the deals that Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and Shauna Sand came to ...
Ron Jeremy is one of a very few that probably IS a millionaire. He's been in the biz since cave drawings and he has never spent a DIME! He owns several properties both in L.A and New York, exclusively wears t-shirs with company logos that were given to him, never pays for a meal or a drink and even at 100 years old STILL gets to tap some beautiful 20 year old from time to time.
