Seeing as many other topics encourage fans to declare their wish-lists for the forthcoming year, I thought it would be good to hear which sites you are hopeful, that they will start releasing content in 4K during 2017... I'm hoping to see true 4K videos from the following studios this year: Brazzers DarkX / HardX DogFart Evil Angel Reality Kings
Huccio never got of the ground. They shot a bunch of content, never released any of it on their website, and then - a few years later - released a single 15-min vid to a clip store website. Other than that, Huccio is a complete mystery and nobody knows who is/was behind the site to begin with or why it never materialized in the end.
^ and ^^ Yep, unfortunately both companies use a 3rd party company called Gamma Entertainment that encodes these shitty quality videos, completely ruining their content in some of the worst 1080P video I have ever seen. It's a shame with such good anal scenes they shoot that they are wasted with such poor video quality. Even worse is Gamma Entertainment is ruining other studios content too - roccosiffredi, devils film, 21sextury, etc. I really wish these companies would use someone else to encode their content or do it in house. As I commented in a previous post, the most annoying in HARDX/DARKX videos is the framerate, the video is 29.970 but the correct film is 23.976. It is possible correct this issue in real time using MadVR and the IVTC filter (MPC HC as player for example) to have 24p. And forget "jerks" in video motion.
Actually that video describes something completely different... It explains that content recorded natively in 1080p will look worse, not that the 1080p conversion of native 4k video will look worse. If Naughty America's 4k stuff looks better than 1080p on a 1080p screen, it's likely to be merely a bitrate issue.
Agreed. 21Sextury have really regressed, their image quality is rubbish now too. Massive pixel size, serious poor quality. Used to be a really good site.
Interesting to know. Thanks for making us wiser on the cause of the problem. I've felt the same for years about these studios - such great content, ruined by the fact they can't even deliver an adequate HD quality video. I'm thinking it would be pointless pushing for these sites to release in 4K, if this Gamma Entertainment will be handling it. Is there any way we can contact these studios to provide feedback and advise them to 'up their game'?
Gamma Entertainment owns and operates all the websites you are complaining about. All of the problems are due to their SOPs, because they have a huge network of sites to run, curate, and update, 24/7. Most likely, the studios won't give a shit about anything you have to say, because it's not under their control.
I think contact Gamma is a better option. If they receive enough complaints about their quality issues they may consider to raise quality, but i'm not hopeful about it, even some guys may come this thread and say us why current quality good enough and we have to be happy with it.
Yes, but the studios could stop allowing them to release their content if they get enough feedback about Gamma destroying the quality of their productions, although that is unlikely to happen. Too many people are content with garbage quality and happy with tube sites. Also, I realize they have a huge network of sites to run, but how hard would it be to just change the standard bitrate from a horrible 6800kbps for their 1080p videos(half of what most other major sites offer nowdays) to something more respectable like 10000kbps. This doesn't take much effort, just larger file sizes.
Analized are releasing in 4K resolution, but the quality isn't great. Low bitrate and not true 4K at all. It would be awesome if Bangbros released in 4K, but I can't see it any time soon.
Can anybody recommend a site with true 4k porn that is also at the same time set up for virtual reality (split screen). Or at least ultra HD. Doesn't even have to be a free service. My phone is 4k capable and I just bought a VR headset. Would love to see the absolute best quality in this type of set up. I've found sites that offer these two things individually but not combined. Any suggestions much appreciated
Naughty America has offered 4K videos for a while now and also put out a couple of VR scenes each week. I can't speak to the quality or type of VR as I don't use it. Their earlier 4K stuff from about a year ago wasn't that great of quality, but the newer stuff looks much better.
I've downloaded 4K scenes from Jules Jordan, HookupHotshot, and Legal Porno. Since I upgraded to 65" LG 4K, I gotta say it's unreal. I put the files on a thumbdrive and plug it right in. I was watching Holly Hendrix's scene (Manual DPs Them All) and the tease in slow mo is incredible, you see every detail and dimple in skin. The scene starts and it's immersive. I've seen tons of Holly's scenes but you feel like you're there. I know she's tiny (4'10 90 something lbs) but you really notice how small she is. Can't wait for more. Hope Evil Angel follows suit quickly.
The sites/studios which are releasing the best 4K quality scenes to date are: Blacked/Tushy/Vixen - Greg Lansky's 1080p videos always looked great, but his 4K content has stepped up to another level. Spent several months experimenting last year with darker lit scenes, but has now resorted back to lighter settings so you can actually see what is going on again. Excellent GirlsDoPorn - Consistent quality, very impressive for amateur site. Jules Jordan - Thankfully, Jules has increased the bitrates of his videos in recent months, and scenes are now back to their previous high standard. Any older videos with bitrates around 16,000kbps are full of grain and noise on the picture. Legal Porno - Limited to specific directors. Giorgio Grandi's content is superb, whilst Gonzo and Sineplex are rather poor. Naughty America - Their videos are so much better in the past few months, with them seeming to sort out colouring/lighting. They still seem to release their scenes with a mixture of bitrates. The lower sized files at 20,000kbps featured a lot of noise and grain on screen and should be avoided. All other scenes at 24,000kbps and above look great. This also account for NA's spin off site (Tonight's Girlfriend), who consistently release good 4K quality. Perfect Gonzo - Possibly releasing the highest bitrates along with Giorgio Grandi. Superb picture quality. Only negative is the curved lens they usually use. Pornfidelity/Teenfidelity - Another studio releasing in very high quality. Scenes can sometime be hit and miss depending on the lighting. X-Art - Scenes tend to be short, but they produce great looking scenes.
Recently I've seen some scenes from the studio who produce Lubed.com, Exotic/Tiny4K etc. They've been using high bitrates for a while, but they're picture quality has always looked grey and grainy still. However, a few of the more recent scenes look good, so they may be improving their quality. Woodman's site has been offering 4K for some time now too. Generally the quality looks very good, but it is very dependent on the location and the room lighting. It is mainly filmed with a handheld camera at the end of the day and sometimes there can be excessive grain. These are the studios producing the best and truest 4K quality out there to my knowledge. Most others sites are releasing a downscaled format which looks nowhere near as good.
vawkes What do you think about inthecrack.com or wowgirls network videos ? The quality of their shooting are excellent imo. I won't go into detail of bitrates and all.
To be honest BangBros 1080 vids since they went to 10k bitrate now look so good they don't need to go 4K. It's the older 1080 vids they have that look shit.
Both pretty good from my experience. InTheCrack can have some grain on their picture at time, but overall it is very impressive. WowGirls/Porn are a rare exception in my experience, where their bitrates are usually on the lower end for 4K, but the picture generally looks impressive.
The 4K cameras used by the industry are now getting updates to enable HDR, while Windows 10 is getting HDR enabled as well, so we may see that in porn downloads by the end of the year, if not sooner. This June, many PC companies will be announcing displays with HDR and HDR will be enabled in the latest crop of video cards and video editing software.
I give 4K videos to download since 2014 but with a bitrate between 20 to 30 mb/s because a 2 hours video long give already a 24 GB files with 20 Mb/s but I stream it in HD only because 4K in streaming still cost a lot !!! The H265 was supposed be the solution but unfortunately we are far away to see this been available for use by everyone ... PW
Hello PW Ever checked into wowza media server? You upload one 4k 50 mbps file and wowza transcodes it live into multiple resolution & bitrate depending on the viewers net speed (adaptive bitrate streaming). 4k streaming at 15mbps or even 18 mbps would be okay.
My problem is not the transcoding ( we actually automaticaly transcode my original 4K video in 13 formats ) but to export a 100 Mb/s original video of 2 hours long in H264 means 94 GB !!! Imagine the time of upload on servers, the time for my 13 transcoding, the time to download for my members and the place and money it will represent to stock it on five points of the world ... Already I have many files over 25 GB at 20 Mb/s and it's hard to download it for many people. It's not so simple !!! PW
Just discovered Perfect Gonzo. Probably the best looking crystal clear scenes out there. I download them with tokens and yes the files are huge 12-18 gigs but they are shot very well, tight close up shots, super sharp with the short depth of field. Very immersive with a big screen. Love the scene Anya Krey 4on1, nothing like a 18 year hottie getting roughed up and face fucked (also check out her Legal Porno, 5on1 DP marathon-Euro scene is insane). Hoping more companies convert and improve the 4k content.

Check out SexArt, MetArtX, and TheLifeErotic if you haven't. Alis Locanta has been releasing 4K content for all of them for a while, and Andrej Lupin just started on SexArt as well. Excellent quality. Bitrates always over 25Mbps, often close to 30Mbps. Content is probably closest to X-Art in style (shorter scenes/on the softer/erotica side).

I should also add: though bitrates are generally a good indicator of quality, they will differ based on the resolution and framerate. Really, what you're looking for is more bits-per-pixel, which you calculate like this: Kbps / ((Pixels Height * Pixel Width * Framerate) / 1000) E.g., here's the recent Alex Ray Blacked video: 25,000Kbps / ((3840*2160*24) / 1000) = .125 Here's a SexArt Video "Black and White:" 27,000Kbps / (same as above) = .135 Here's an Adriana Chechik/Marley Brinx Lubed video: 25,000Kbps / ((4096*2160*60) / 1000) = .047 *** You can see how with the last vid that even though it has the same bitrate as the Blacked video the bits-per-pixel is less than half because both the resolution and framerate are higher. Generally, anything over .1 is high quality, between .1 and .05 is medium quality, and anything below .05 is low quality.
This makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, the majority of scenes from the likes of Lubed.com, Tiny4K, Exotic4K have decent bitrates, yet the picture quality still looks poor.

Yep, though to be fair some may prefer a higher framerate to better picture quality, especially on smaller screens. Porn at 24fps tends to blur, especially on closeups. 30fps is better and 60fps better still; but obviously as the fps goes up the bitrate ratio must drop to keep the file sizes manageable. 60fps 4K with bitrates in the .1 ratio range would be close to 20GBs for a 40-minute video. Those sites use 4K camcorders which are obviously 4K, but are limited by the low-grade lens quality, image sensor PQ, and the shooting environments, which often have bad lighting or too much lighting. Add to the fact that those sites are done quick/dirty/cheap and you can see why the quality might not be what you were hoping for. The Lansky sites like Tushy and Vixen - which are arguably the benchmark for 4K, depending on your POV - are shot with digital cinema cameras and high-grade cinema lenses, so their footage is capable of looking much better than anyone else's when handled properly, which isn't always the case. In order to have good 4K, you have to use good gear, have good shooting conditions, have it shot by someone who knows what they are doing, and have someone who can properly handle the footage in post to get the most out of it. Rarely does porn ever have all of that lining up outside of the "studio" stuff, which is why Digital Playground was so hyped back in the day, when they started shooting with digital cinema cameras on their productions.

I find the 4K content from Giorgio Grandi and Interracial Vision to be some of the very best. Gonzo and Sineplex are off the pace with their picture quality = Avoid.
All things considered, Vicki Chase/Adriana Checkik Anal Savages scene is the best 4K video I've ever scene. Thanks Jules Jordan The action, lighting, video quality, and of course the cast, 2 hall of famers!
AdultDVDEmpire/AdultEmpire now has a significant pile of 4K VOD content for download, but it's a pretty mixed bag because few studios are finishing their content at 4K, despite most new content being shot on 4K cameras. If you have a fave studio or see something you want in 4K that was shot in 4K, contact the studio to let them know that you want to buy it in 4K. If you're looking for a good way to watch 4K downloads on your 4K TV, I recommend the HiMedia Q10 Pro, which can play anything you throw at it and works wonderfully for 4K and 1080P content.

If one were to summarize the current state of the industry, which companies/sites rank as say, the top 10 in overall image quality? I'm curious what thoughts people have on this. I'm particularly interested in 60 fps content, though I do understand that frame rate doesn't automatically mean higher quality.
Most of the industry is using 4K camcorders, either consumer or professional models with single lens setups that are just like the HDV cameras from six years ago, only with higher-resolution. A lot of feature stuff is shot on the high-end, bigger camcorders from Sony and Panasonic, which have removable lenses. Nobody can really suggest something to you, as you have to find something that works with your shooting style, what you are trying to shoot, the post-production hardware you have or can afford, and your budget. If you used a camera years ago, you liked it, and you'd use it today for what you want to shoot, chances are, there is a 4K replacement for it, so start there.
Europe seems to be where they are killing it with quality 4K content, with studios like Woodman and Dorcel's outfits. Though almost all American studios are shooting 4K, nobody is doing it in a way that stands above all others like Digital Playground used to, with their features. As for 60fps, hardly anyone uses that frame rate because it's more to deal with on the post side and many studios don't want the "live" look that it brings.
