I'm not trying to go all negative with Slayed. On the plus side they light their sets extremely well. Film clarity is crystal clear & the colors are vibrant. The fact that they do tend to hire the hottest women is why I'm so vocal about wanting to see more of them...literally.

These kind of shots with body contact is what I often miss on the blacked, vixen and tushy sites. I think slayed does it well.

I wonder if the rooms at Slayed are even actual rooms cause they manage to get their bigass camera in all the right angles. I think they're in a studio.

As a matter of fact I recall reading this interview around the time Slayed launched. They pretty much made it clear what their focus would be so I guess I shouldn't be mad at them.

For many guys, there has actually been a distinct experience in the reduction of closeups, as videos from a few years back had extended close-up shots vs. the "blink and you missed it" closeups we get nowadays.

I also think the term "closeup" is relative. For example, there are many people who think that midrange shots qualify as closeups, vs. people like me who think close-ups used to be much closer to the action (essentially stuff approaching full-on "macro" shots in Slayed). So for people like me, Slayed only really has a couple of minutes of actual closeups, with some scenes almost having none.

I'm no longer one to advocate studios changing what works for them, but as we have all noted before, it would be nice if studios specialized so that we could all get our regular fix on a more consistent basis.

I used to spend hours looking for something with solid shots reminiscent of the "gonzo days" (think angles similar to what LP does for their circus acts). But at this point, I am personally spending way too much time looking for content that I like, and like "Lezzyist", now spend much of my time sticking to the older content (for me it's - WLT, Partyof3, pre-2015 Mature.nl, KMG Explicit, pre-2018 Twistys, etc...). Which is a bummer given how awesome things would be in 4K.

Anyway, it's rough for us closeup/lez gonzo fans these days...

I am realizing part of it, on top of directors with bad taste, is today's performers are not open to the same kind of physicality with other women that performers were open to in the past. Today, they can show up to SLAYED and Adulttime et cetera sets, do literally two half-hearted licks, gyrate awkwardly and scream for a couple seconds, and it's a job well done. If you do too many extended closeups today, the camera would catch nothing happening for most of that time lol. I think at the height of the sites you mentioned, performers were trying to fuck and be friends and whatnot. Today's girls, on the whole, don't really enjoy the GG side of the industry like that and would not want to participate in a sex-heavy scene.

There are still some good GG performers but they don't quite get the studio attention deserved, and even when they make appearances, the shoot isn't really about the sex, perhaps because the average performer who signs up to work with women isn't really capable of getting into it.

To your other point, I had never actually thought about it, but it makes total sense. Along the lines of B/G, I always figured that directors were just getting lazy to cover up for mediocre sex, but "creative" editing is just as likely, if not more so.

I briefly considered starting a Gonzo Lesbian thread, affectionately titled "Where Good Girl-Girl Gonzo Is At," so we could keep tabs on scenes with good shoots, but there is so little out there that it barely seems worth the effort. I think the new GGW stuff is visually promising, but the infrequent releases and halfhearted performances leave a lot to be desired. But at least its something new.

I also think that excellent G/G is a bit of a "chicken and the egg" issue since performers will go where the money is. It's part of why you guys usually hear me nagging about having a dedicated G/G site for newcomers hosted/involving a rotating cast of G/G veterans, so we can see who is a good performer (as opposed to praying that GGF has a good combo).

Anyway, this is a Slayed thread, so I'll shut up before "KillBillOver9000" kicks me off like DeepKissLover, haha.

(Obligatory thoughts on Slayed - as always, so close, yet so far. The last scene with Skye and Blake wasn't half bad, though).

I like the set up, the fact that the scene doesn't switch to a different space from the intro like a lot of the other Slayed scenes do. The lighting is not as cold as most other Slayed scenes and the room is actually looks like a room, not a studio. But still with all the attention to detail like the mirror behind the bed greased, beautiful bedding and decor. And it's shot from handheld which really puts you in the spot. I didn't mind the shakiness compared to more stable camerawork we usually get on Slayed.

The little story is cute and these performers just fit in. Freya slightly dominant and Amber a little shy. I'm such a fan of Freya, she always does these humping movement from her hips in this case while fingering Amber (pic.2) and it looks so good. You can see four tiddies bounce in rhythm. Then that great over the shoulder shot with Amber digging in (pic.3), I wish was done more. What a great view from the receiving end. Also this scene has some pussy worship (pic.4) plus amazing super close up shots of Amber licking Freya's clit (pic.5), wish these shots were longer.

They didn't edit the queefs out and they didn't touch up the make-up; there's visible sweat on foreheads etc. Makes it real. Beautiful scene and the best of 2022 I've seen so far 5/5.

This year I hope to see Freya Parker in at least 4/5 Slayed scenes, not just 2 like in 2022. Freya has said many times on Twitter she prefers women in real life, especially MILFs, and she seems to have a strong friendship/mentorship with Julia Ann, Shay Sights and Kayla Paige.
