My lawyers don't seem to be getting things done (as of right now), which makes me very sad, because I was putting some faith into them, but for some reason it's taking it's sweet time...of course at my expense in every which way. I'm being put in between a rock & a hard place. Between the lawyers & ongoing situation it is neverending with the drama. It doesn't seem like it's coming to a point which is looking like it's going to force me to QUIT.
I feel bad for all of the fans because I've tried my hardest to play by the rules of life, business, legal systems, etc., so that I would be able to continue to fuck on camera for all you perverts out there to enjoy!! (Especially, because I want to direct & put my own spin on things. If I had failed , then at least I would have tried. It seems as of now it's looking like I won't be able to. This is NOT by MY choice, all I want to do is be free of this nonsense situation. If anything happens in the near future that changes this situation, all of my fans will be the first to know. (In a perfect world, I dare to dream of simplicity) As of right now, it's drained me mentally & physically to such an extreme extent. Everyone talks about my weight, & I've bitten my lip for so long trying to make nice with everyone. But come on, STRESS that people are putting me & my family through under such circumstances are taking a toll on me. I can't let me or my family suffer. They are the most important things & it's starting to affect them. Wow, I was really not expecting this but I had an idea that you were going through tough times. It's not easy fighting and finding your way out of big money hungry companies and their contracts. It just reminds me of that press release Digital Playground put out after your meetings with them, feeding people bullshit like we love her and we said good luck etc. I am merely speculating that getting out of their contract played a big part in your legal problems, but thats how the industry and contracts work. I just hope you take a long break from it all and let your mind relax, as well as your body....and hopefully nothing will be set in stone. It's all about owning a name. Marketing that name. Profiting off that name. Teagan's name happens to be big for market and profit, so with that comes legal work out the asshole.. Very unfortunate the big corporations and executives take away what the fans want, and more importantly what this industry needs.. Those exec's must be living in la-la-land to think letting a big star like Teagan get away will somehow benefit their line of work.. industries thrive off of competition, whether indirect or direct... killing your competition means you're killing that vital x-factor that was gaining buzz to begin with.. DP, Vivid, any of those bigger companies who think they're doing a good deed by burying names are just biting themselves in the ass when its all said and done. Look at Devon, she's been through them all, did anyone EVER stop her? You can't kill what the fans care for. Ya, it's just a sad situation. Someone as loved and adored as Teagan has to think of quitting NOT because she doesn't wanna fuck infront of the camera anymore, but because of greedy assholes and their lawyers who won't let her have control over her name and products.
Pretty sure Digital doesn't 'own' her name since Teagan was Teagan way before signing with them. I just wish her the best and she should be given the chance to succeed or not on her own terms and if Digital wasn't going to let her do that then it seems petty to me to drag the process out of letting her out of a contract. Of course we can't know everything about this situation, it's not our place to know so I just hope this situation's resolved sooner rather than later so all of Teagan's fans won't have to miss out on watching this beautiful young woman perform.
After reading lukeford recently I was wondering/concerned about this possibly happening. Judging from the title of her post this may be a case similar to the randy couture/dana white situation(just wanted to throw in a ufc reference to hopefully bring a smile to teagan since she watches it). In which case this may be a "sitting out period" until whatever stipulations on her previous contract expire (just some speculation)

+1!!! If it's not resolved, and she does quit then something has to be done about these companies ruining and ending so many careers so often. A complete boycott anything and everything Digital Playground should be on the cards, atleast for me. I wouldn't spend a single penny on any of their products ever again. I didn't see this one coming. I'm very surprised and disappointed. I don't know the details of the situation so I won't make any big statement. Just take care of yourself and your family Teagan and I hope to hear from you soon.
This happens in pro wrestling all the time. A WWE wrestler goes to TNA or another organization and has to change his name b/c the WWE owns it. I don't think most porn fans base what they view on the girls name.
But in the wrestling biz often the company makes up the name for the wrestler or takes him from relative unknown status and makes them a big huge star. Well in this case Teagan already had quite a nice sized following so Digital enhanced her popularity, that I think is a given due to their vast resources but it by no means brought her from unknown status to do it. Will they suffer some short term financial loss from not having her I'm sure they will but it won't force them to shut down any productions and I'd think with their new girls such as Katsuni, Adriana Lynn, and Stoya their bottom line will still come out pretty much in the big Black figures so as Endorphin would say, Free Teagan!!
It's horrible that this situation has affected your health. I don't know the facts, this is the first I've read about this, but putting you and those you care about under so much stress can't be acceptable. I can only wish you luck in getting this sorted out.
Actually, you can contract away your trademark. I remember a similar flap about Tera Patrick's departure from DP and Devon seemed to have the impression that she lost her trademark when she left DP too.
This is fucked up. It was only four days ago that Teagan told us she started her own gonzo series - and now this? I won't make asumptions, but be strong girl. At least you have your priorities straight. Your fam and yourself come first. Your fans will always be here, you are legendary baby!!! I am just keeping my fingers crossed and HOPING Teagan doesn't have to do this and it gets resolved. Those dumbass Lawyers need to wake up and take it to DP and set you FREE!
I love Teagan and her work, but it looks like a case of a legal adult, signing a legal contract. It sucks, but the rule are the rules. It's a shitty situation, but this is the real world and unfortunately it's not like the old days, it's money! It's a damn shame that something like this has to effect health and family. I have no idea what is going on, but it sounds like it's taken it's toll.
I agree with Bono-one's post above saying it's a shame DP is hanging on to one star knowing they have half a dozen contract stars with more than marginal popularity. They may lose some profits, but the columns will change names and a new star will be accredited with what Teagan brings in now. That's not a slam on Teagan, God love her as a true original, but this industry is a freight train that has no plans of slowing down or stopping. DP must understand this, especially being an established and respected company that could only suffer this as a temporary inconvenience. Teagan gave them years of her career, and though I can't say if there was a re-signing in her tenure, it is apparent she did not leave them in the lurch. In other posts, I believe in a "Teagan" titled thread on star-crossed, Teagan stated she was going to perform periodically for DP and would make appearances in productions like "Pirates 2" when asked. Why should they make this ugly for a girl who only gave them her best? DP is being petty. I understand this is a business, but it is also an industry based on performance ability. Why would performers give their all for a company that is taking one step down the path of being known for "bully" type tactics. I admit knowing only the peripheral details, ambiguous as they are, but from the implications underlying statements made by Teagan and others - the finger is being pointed at DP. Here's hoping DP remembers they will make the most through positive relationships not intimidation through legal means.

Teagan's name is not trademarked by DP. If you looked at the press releases or box covers DP put out in the past, there has never been a TM next to her name. DP doesn't own her name. I'm not sure why there is so much hatred against DP. If you don't like their products, that's fine as we all have our own favorite porn to watch. But don't make accusations that aren't true. That's really not fair.
We just hate Corporate Porn and DP is just one of those Companies that we love to Hate. I had been boycotting the Company for a While but gave them a second chance last year and I still was letdown. So I resorted back to boycotting their Titles again and It looks like nothing will change. I wish Teagan well in sorting out her Problems.She needs a good rest for now.
It's probably not about her stage name, but more about she was contracted to do x-amount and films over the course of x-years. If she didn't fulfill her contract, then she's probably under contract until it's duration and can not work for any other company or maybe even herself. I'm sure it's spelled out in the contract. She might even have to forfeit some $$ if it's not fulfilled. DP is a pretty big company and I'm sure they have expensive lawyers.
I'm not a Digital Playground hater. Fact is, I've brought much of your high-end product (ex: Island Fever, Erotique, Pirates) in the past and will continue to buy. So, I don't single out Digital as being "evil." Still, it is a very bad thing for the entire industry, when legal entanglements can't be worked out, so that everyone can move on with their business or career. It's not good for the industry's image. I believe the amount, and emotion, of the comments on this board should encourage all parties involved to get everything resolved soon.
Is this the same Cody Bangs that made fun of Teagan repeatedly on trailers an behind the scenes even after she addressed you about it?

Well the issues are clearly with DP and not knowing what the issues are makes second guessing pointless. The could be about ownership of content, tights to use content on her website, money who knows what. Im not sure what could prevent her from doing new content for her site and starting fresh unless somehow DP is claiming that she cant work or something...who knows. DP was handed a rather expensive loss with the Tera Patrick name thing and Im sure they wouldnt go down that road again. A quick scan of LA court cases didnt turn up anything under Teagans real name, her stage name or digital playground or either of it's principles.

Cody is the same fruit who showed up in Teagan's thread last year, and made a fool of himself making things up. Then, when he was questioned and asked if he was the spokesman or PR of Digital Playground, Adella came into the thread and said she was the PR. I wouldn't take this CodyBangs guy seriously. I would've expected someone like Mike South knowing atleast a little about the whole deal, oh well. I do know, and have known for a while now that Digital Playground isn't as nice to their girls as they pretend to be (interviews, press releases etc.) They've been giving Teagan a hard time legally, creating hurdles in the way of creating her own product and profiting from it. It's not brain surgery, it's pretty simple to see they just want a piece of the pie knowing how profitable Teagan is and can be. They might've said they wished Teagan good luck and let her go, but in reality, it was just Digital Playground feeding porn fans their usual Bullshit again. I'll say it again, if they force Teagan into retirement not letting her control her product....it should and will have a backlash! An extremely popular and adored girl like Teagan can not be forgotten so easily, and atleast her fansbase (which is HUGE btw), as well as porn watchers in general, should COMPLETELY BOYCOTT Digital Playground. It's time people send a clear message to these greedy, money hungry corporations that they can't go around ruining, and ending careers so easily. Remember what Vivid recently did to Stefani(knowing fully well all the problems they created for her) and forced her to quit porn? DP, Vivid, Wicked...they work exactly the same. Use and abuse their talent to maximize their profits, and never let them have any control or say on the material. If they think of leaving, do everything possible to make them quit the business.
