As many know, he was a long time Executive Assistant DA until being elevated to the DA position with the resignation of Arthur Branch to run for federal office in 2007. McCoy is reportedly on the outs with his current Exec assistant DA Michael Cutter so it was either hand the case over to another Assistant DA Connie Rubirosa who is still a little green, or handle it himself. Rumnor has it, he still seeks counsel with legendary retired DA Adam Schiff so we will see what he decides. Bree's counsel may try to impeach one of the arresting officers, Detective Lennie Briscoe a recovered alcoholic but junior detective Ed Green is straight as an arrow and it will be hard to portray him in a bad light. With all the stress Bree has been under, her defense attorney may try to use the "not of sound mind or judgment at the time defense" but knows if she goes there, McCoy will want the government's pyschiatrist Dr. Emil Skoda to take a look at her and he's pretty good at cutting through bullshit defenses. She was brought before a judge, advised that she was being charged with drunk driving, and given the opportunity to enter a plea of either "guilty" or "not guilty." She pled not guilty, which is what most people do. If she and her attorney don't work out some kind of deal with the prosecutor, the case will go to trial. I have no idea if she has any prior arrests or convictions for drunk driving. A misdemeanor is generally punishable by monetary fines and/or imprisonment in a county jail for no more than one year; her driving privileges could also be affected. I have no idea what her car cost (you could look it up) or whether it was "pimped out." OK? This incident happened before the Charlie Sheen business really got going, and it happened in Indiana, which is almost 2000 miles from Hollywood and approximately 10,000 years behind it, culturally speaking, so there really isn't any reason to view the matter as anything other than exactly what it appears on its face: somebody may have had too much to drink, got into a car, and ran into something.
