So it looks like there's no turning back for Lesbian X in terms of style. Too bad now updates are just once a month. I'll post some thoughts on a couple of scenes that came out in the past year that I like. Based on what I can find, there hasn't been much feedback on this forum to either of these.
This is between Amber Moore and Haley Reed.
The opening sequence between the two backlit by the light of the sun is just stunningly beautiful (although judging by some of the later shots, Amber suffered from some minor sunburn). Some others have commented that Amber doesn't do deep french kiss. This is true and regrettable. But in her defense she is actually not shy about kissing in general; she just doesn't seem to like involve her tongue. When the scene transitions to indoors, again the lighting is really good, but I must say that mattress bothers me. Is there anything seedier and tawdrier than the combination of a mattress on the floor and porn? Not that the surrounding is some motel or warehouse; still, going from the artistic erotic music video style to this is a bit jarring to me.
It turns out the mattress will play an interesting role: unlike a bed, this places both performers far below the standing cameraperson. So everything from this scene will be seen from this interesting "high angle" with virtually no closeups of any kind. I miss those luscious lip on clit closeups, but must admit thse long shots showing the two's entire bodies look really good. This is unlikely to be an accident, since Mason must know how stunning these two blondes are. The oral is quite convincing. Amber may have really had an orgasm with Haley's tongue on her asshole, two fingers in her vagina, and her own fingers on her clit; Haley may also have come with Amber fingering her and her own fingers rubbing her clit.
Overall a good scene, featuring two stunning women with mostly good sex, marred mainly by some useless positions like 69 and tribbing (in the sense that they are too performative and don't seem to provide the girls with much pleasure).
The second one is between Paige Owens and Freya Parker.
Not that I'm saying these two are not good looking, but they don't have quite the supermodel level looks Amber and Haley (few do). This one is going to be far more focused on sex.
Again in contrast to the previous scene, there are many intimate and very sexy closeups. Freya is spectacular as usual. Paige gamely tries to keep up with her finger and mouth, and it looks like Freya is just so turned on it doesn't really take much to get her off.
These two Paige orgasms are explosive and absolutely gorgeous, certainly highlight reel worthy. I wish there are more positions like this, especially the thigh-riding one which looks so sexy.
Not sure if this sentiment has already been voiced before, but I feel like one of the main problems in too many lesbian scenes is that they go through too many positions during sex. In their interview in before the scene in Lesbian Sex 26, Corra Cox, who is about to perform her first g/g scene on camera, asks Freya Parker if they can do 69; Freya expresses some reluctance, saying essentially there's much better things to do than 69. They end up not doing it after all. Instead, they have a long 15 minutes foreplay, and then the sex itself last about 25 minutes with arguably only 4 positions: mutual oral, plus one where Freya fingers Corra, and one more where she sits on Corra's face. Needless to say Corra seems to have enjoyed herself a lot (if only all girls' first time on camera can be with Freya!)
Considering that scene and some other Freya scene, considering the two JC Wilds scene which I raved about, I think this is what I like: long foreplay consisting of many different positions, with actual sex consisting of fewer positions, perhaps no more than 2 to 4 (I'd be perfectly happy with mutual oral X 2), while ensuring each position will have at least an uninterrupted duration of, say, 5 minutes. Take some kissing/cuddle breaks between the positions if they want, but don't just rush from position to position.
Of course I enjoy variety so I'm not saying every scene has to be like this, but this is sort of my ideal scenario.
This is why I highly respect Freya. She is really confident in her sexuality and actually wants to have a genuine experience in her scenes. It seems like she just doesn't want to entertain for our sake but for her own pleasure and that of who she's having sex with. This is the best type of set up. Two women who aren't trying to fill a quota so to speak, but just enjoy themselves and do what comes naturally. Of course there are basic things like getting into positions where the camera can see what's going on (although I do love those moments when things get so intense that the ladies lose track of hair covering what's going on for a bit), lighting etc but the rest should be as natural as possible. I also know that this takes women like Freya or other great performers like Malena or Shyla to really make work.
On another note, what do you think of Scarlit Scandal? I feel like she is highly underrated as a girl/girl performer here. She's truly amazing and right up there with Freya in my opinion. OK I watched the Alex Coal and Scarlit Scandal scene. It's pretty spectacular. Previously I mentioned what I consider to be the ideal scene. This is not quite it with respect to foreplay, but the actual sex portion of is as good as it gets: just four positions (mutual oral, 69, Alex sitting on Scarlit's face) and each very long and uninterrupted. Also, I'm very glad there's no tribbing. I understand some people really like them, but for me they nearly always seem too artificial.
From 26-36th minute, it's just 10 minutes of uninterrupted oral sex from Alex to Scarlit. It makes me think of a line from the Woody Allen movie Annie Hall, where he says (after presumably going down on a woman) while rubbing his jaw: "I'm starting to get some feeling back in my jaw now." Except this is no comedy. This is pure lesbian sin of the best possible kind.
Scarlit then spends 8 uninterrupted minutes between Alex's thighs, which would have been the crowning highlight of any other movie but for what Alex just did before. Love the moment where their fingers are interlaced and Alex squeezes tight. Near the end, they even got the rarely well-executed face sitting right. Scarlit, the great girl she is, leaves Alex huffing and puffing and gasping like someone who just finished a marathon.
I dare say those 18 minutes in the middle is as good as lesbian oral sex gets.

Like you said, this is pretty much as good as it gets when it comes to lesbian oral sex in a scene. What I love about this scene is that the oral isn't rushed. Just when you think Alex is done, she goes back down and continues for another few minutes. Leading me to believe they are really into it. I've seen far too many scenes where it's quite obvious the performer is not really into going down on the other girl as they lick a few times and are back up before event getting the other girl excited.
You also mentioned them interlocking hands and this goes to another aspect I love about rare scenes like this where they make lots of amazing physical contact. Some scenes out there lack all of this intimacy and the girls are just cold towards each other but this scene is the complete opposite.
Lastly there's no fake moaning here. Just natural sounds of pleasure and no excess noise. This is a legendary scene in my opinion.
Or arguably even worse: when it looks like they are having a good time, and they abruptly end it and change to some other position, presumably because the director has blocked off just 2 or 3 minutes for oral just so they need to check off a bunch of other positions.

Continuing with my interest with porn and academic research, I just read another very interesting article called "Porn Work, Feminist Critique, and the Market for Autheticity" by Heather Berg, published by University of Chicago Press in 2017. It's written by a researcher who got her information by talking to many people in the industry and directly observing some productions (though only straight porn not lesbian porn productions). It offers some very fascinating insights. Most interestingly, it offers a look from the performers' perspective that I think we the consumer rarely think about. I will not attempt to write a summary of it (it's a long 20 page paper), only some points of interest perhaps to this community.
- Her central focus is on "authenticity," which she defines as "performance of being oneself and wanting to be there, and, emphatically, being there not just for the money." Think of how many times we have seen girls in post-scene interviews where they say something to the effect of "we should pay you."
- An interesting quote from queer producer Courtney Trouble, "People only apply to work for me if they really want to, which is kind of nice." This is after noting that queer and feminist porn pays far less than mainstream porn -- $200-$400 in contrast to $800-$1,000 per scene.
- An extended discussion with Dan O'Connell, president of GFF, who says, "Also, most of my scenes result from one girl asking to shoot with another. We only shoot bisexual and lesbian girls. If the girl is straight, we don't use her. Sometimes you just don't know. We want the girls to be having fun sex. That makes them happy and satisfied and gets us a much better scene at the end of the day."
- Performers told the author that GFF pays better than most other g/g studios. Dan says, "Oh yeah, we pay $800, and most of the other companies are nickel and diming the girls. We also pay everybody the day that they shoot."
- A quote from Ela Darling on the "gay for pay" issue among g/g performers, "as far as I'm concerned, as long as you can convince me that you're attracted to me right now, I don't care what your sexual identity is. What bugs me is when before the scene a girl is like 'I never have a real orgasm, I always fake my orgasms.' I'm a professional. If you can't come on camera, I understand, but if you're gonna fake it anyway, I don't need to know beforehand. We're trying to reach a goal together."
- A quote with Herschel Savage (a veteran of b/g scenes with more than a thousand scenes), "What worked for me as a sexual performer is that I'm basically a romantic. The time I was with a woman, assuming that we connected on some level, it was a romantic scene, I was in love! And then it was over. I never crossed that line. I could find beauty in anyone, especially women that didn't feel very attractive. I would make them feel beautiful. That meant something. And it meant something to me. But I believed it. I wasn't just performing." At first it sounds ridiculous to me that he can somehow fall in and out of love literally thousands of times. Then I thought: is it ridiculous only because he's a man? Is this not exactly what I demand from g/g performers?
- A discussion with Bella Vendetta, who relates an occasion where she shoots for a feminist porn production where the story, dialogue, and sex sequences are designed by the performers, and she even does her own hair and makeup -- thus very "authentic." But keep in mind these are jobs that are performed by other paid professionals in a mainstream production. So she not only has to accept a far less lower base pay, she's actually doing the job of three or four other people.
- Lastly a discussion on pay with Ana Foxxx. The standard rate for an anal scene is $1200. For her first time, she was able to negotiate a fee of $5,000 for two scenes in the same movie. She now charges for $3,500 for an anal scene. The difference between this and the $800 from GFF is just staggering. On the other hand, the difference between the "standard" $1200 is not as big as I had thought. Of course all these pay numbers are from around the middle of the last decade, so I don't know how relevant they are today.

Just checked out "Final Girl." As you said, it's interesting, because three of the six cast members are quite new. For Lizzie Love, this is her first g/g scene, and only second adult scene overall. For Victoria Sunshine, it's her second g/g scene. Maya Farrell, the most experienced among the three, has only about half a dozen g/g scenes.
I'd say the movie is probably somewhat above average. The plot is meant to be campy and acted competently. For the sex, there's quite a bit of good fingering and it's toy free. On the negative side, there's little good kissing, the oral is very uneven, and some scenes insist on attempted (bad) tribbing which I don't much care for.
The first scene between Kira Noir and Lizzie Love is pretty representative. The kissing is lacking. Kira is clearly the more accomplished lover whose oral and fingering are quite nice. Lizzie's oral is clearly less skilled, although it has to be said that she in no way shies away from it and it's clear that she tries her best. Her fingering is actually quite nice.
Victoria Sunshine's scene with Pristine Edge is in my opinion the second best scene. Again there's a lack of good kissing and a pointless tribbing session, but both are pretty good at oral and fingering.
In the second scene between Ana Foxxx and Maya Farrell, Ana is good as expected, but Maya, to be blunt, doesn't seem to know what she's doing. The last scene is a threesome, which honestly would have been much better off if it is just a coupling between Kira and Victoria, both of which does oral sex pretty well in this scene, but Ana somehow gets lost in the shuffle.
None of the scene passes my "five minute rule" (five minutes of uninterrupted oral sex = excellent scene). None of the scene is top tier. However, only the second scene is arguable truly bad due to Maya. For a newcomer, Victoria leaves the best impression to me, Lizzie has potential, and overall the best is Kira.
p.s.: also, thanks for bringing Adam and Eve to my attention. It's an old brand. Just browsing through their material, "Final Girl" is quite unusual that it's an all-girl feature; most of their features are quite traditional in that they have mostly b/g scenes with one g/g scene in their. "Final Girl" is also unusual in that it's toy-free, whereas most their other g/g scenes appear (again quite traditional) to have toy use. Inspired by the review of "Final Girl," I am looking through some recent features from Adam & Eve to take a look at their g/g scenes. I want to know if there are good scenes from companies that don't specialize in such productions. First up is the movie Charlotte and Lacy, an all-sex movie. The first scene is between the titular Charlotte Stokely and Lacy Lennon, two contemporary g/g all stars.
The opening tease sequence shows off the two in gorgeous lingerie model style and is done very well. The kissing and foreplay are good as expected. The mutual oral starts with Lacy.
I'd say Charlotte's oral here is a bit better than Lacy's, if only because it's a little longer (and it also features her signature hummingbird style, where she sticks her tongue out and and flicks very rapidly). Both are quite well executed. But then out comes that small vibrator. With such two modern stars, honestly this feels like such a pointless throwback. I can appreciate at least some parts of it which looks ok (lower left, when it's combined with Lacy licking Charlotte's asshole), but other parts just makes one of the women look so useless (lower right -- Lacy could have done that herself). The toy section is the same length as the oral sex (about 8-9 minutes). A potentially pretty nice scene with two excellent stars is thus dragged down by sex toy.
Next scene is Charlotte with Spencer Bradley. Spencer looks amazing in that red dress, and Charlotte is great in the pink one. If Charlotte and Lacy remind me of lingerie models, then these two are just... stripperific. Honestly this tease is arguable the sexiest part of the scene. Which is not a good sign.
Spencer looks fantastic with her breast being sucked on by Charlotte, though the kissing is sporadic during the foreplay. The oral is mutual X2 (back and forth, back and forth) for a total of ~15 minutes (so almost twice the length of the previous scene), yet by and large to me it's not as good. Charlotte flicks her tongue a LOT, but for the most part she doesn't really lick Spencer's clit hard or suck on it or use her finger, so it's unclear if Spencer could really get enough stimulation from it.
When Spencer uses her tongue, it seems to me Charlotte reacts a bit too strongly to be convincing -- but that's just me so who knows. Finally a small pink vibrator comes out. Here it's only used for half of the time of the oral so at least that's an improvement. Like the first scene, sometimes it's just pointless, sometimes it may be considered OK as when Spencer combines its use with licking Charlotte's clit. In any event, a somewhat disappointing scene.
Next scene is between Lacy and Ana Foxxx. Both women are dressed very sexily, and the foreplay is best of the three scenes so far, which includes great kissing and Lacy riding Ana's thigh (one of my personal favorite things to see).
The mutual oral looks amazing. Too bad the duration is pretty short.
Lacy is definitely a member of the four finger club (or does that refer to Ana who takes four fingers?) -- they both look fantastic here. Unfortunately they go into a tribbing session. It's very energetic, but I just don't much care for it. Then the vibrator comes out and I lose pretty much all interest. The foreplay and oral sex of this scene is very good but they last only about 15 minutes, whereas the parts that I don't care for (tribbing and toy) last for about 15 minutes. If only they cut out the last 15 minutes this would have been a very good scene (even if a bit short).
The last scene is a threesome with Bunny Colby, Katie Morgan, Kayley Gunner. Not sure what the point of this scene is since neither Charlotte nor Lacy has anything to do with it. Bascially it's three pretty women with very large and beautiful breasts. Honestly I would have been happy if they stretch out the foreplay and have them play with and show off their breasts and cut the sex scene really short. Instead they do a short foreplay, a slightly longer attempt at fingering and oral sex (threesome sex rarely turn out well, and this one is no exception), and then bring out that stupid toy for the rest of the time (which is the majority of the scene). Just by cast and organization I would have predicted this to be the worst scene of the movie, and I would have been right.

^Content is very hyper and ADHD in general these days. Like if I was a producer I would make the camera people AND the editor take Ritalin before working on my stuff. Continuing with my look into Adam & Eve, this time it's "Adventures With The Baumgartners" which was a feature directed by Mike Quasar and released in 2017. It has two g/g scenes.
This is between Anikka Albrite (blonde) and Edyn Blair (redhead). They step into a rather small bathtub and kiss a bit. And then -- this I have never seen before -- Anikka shaves Edyn as a sort of foreplay? I mean this is not pretend. For about 2 minutes Anikka literally shaves and washes Edyn before going in for a taste. This part certainly has some novelty value and the oral sex is not bad (given the bathtub space constraint).

Continuing with Adam and Eve, this is a brief review of the two g/g scenes in the movie Agent 69.
First scene is between Eva Lovia and Alex Harper. Eva looks delicious in her suit, and Alex looks perfectly on point as the femme fatale (not that I paid any attention to the plot) with her pale skin and black hair. Unfortunately the kissing is pretty much nonexistent. Given that one of them is Eva who is practically a girl-lover royalty, there's no choice but to pin the blame on Alex.

Elsa pretty much blew my mind in this scene. Based on what I have seen of some of her other scenes (not that I've watched anywhere close to all), I've always had the impression that she's somewhat inconsistent. I don't know what happened here, but it's like some switch is flipped, and she's just ON this scene like I've never seen her before, in fact, like I've seldom seen in anyone before. Round one: with a brief break for position change, she just performs gorgeous oral sex on Honey for more than six minutes. Then a break with her sitting on Honey's face for a few minutes.

RE: blackdragontea's very good review of the Scarlett Sage and Athena Faris scene in LESBIAN SEX 18 on p61. This is a really nice scene. It's nice to be able to see what pretty women look like without their faces being covered with 10 layers of face paint. Thank gawd it isn't a Bree Mills scene. She would have had them covered in 50 pounds of clown make-up, 10 pounds of hairspray, and, of course, those idiotic Girlsway birdwing eyelashes. And then there would have been the inevitable Bree Mills appearance in the vid. Where Bree Mills tells everyone what an important, ground-breaking visionary Bree Mills is.
Ritalin, haha. Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm not sure why they overcomplicate things. Less is definitely more, as I feel the good directing and camerawork should ideally be about capturing the action in front of you.
Totally agree with the point about multiple performers, good scenes are few and far between...

^Yeah, sites are heavy into the foot stuff now, unfortunately. Kissing, fingering, tit worship, pussy eating, not so much.
Something I've discovered is a big no-no for me is when the shoot is so much more focused on whatever the "story" is that the performers have to say goofy rambling stuff about whatever the scene gimmick is instead of having sex. Not much will make me log out of a site faster than one of the performers saying something cheesy like "I've never felt like this before" or something to reference the gimmick like "what if they hear us". The 'acting' focus in today's content is so obnoxious.
Elsa was in a really good scene with Carter Cruise for Girlsway a fair while back now. It featured some pretty intense oral. When you see that scene and the Honey Gold scene you reviewed, it is just makes it more frustrating that Elsa wasn't used in more scenes like that. Her G/G career seems to mostly have consisted of sleepy GF Films scenes (usually with an older performer in a milf setup) or in bonkers toy heavy scenes with various other studios or middling scenes where she has to be very passive elsewhere.
