I've seen a few posts around the forum about that amateur-focused site "Lustery", and decided to give it a shot last month since they appear to have a decent amount of lesbian content. Of course by structuring a site that way means you're going to get varying quality of video, but I will give them credit that there's some good stuff to find. The filter functionality is actually a lot better than I usually see among independent sites, so you can drill down to the specific kind of content you want with a reasonable amount of efficiency. Also because it's amateur-focused, there's a much wider range of performers than one would normally get from a professional studio site.
However, A big issue for me is that it's streaming only with no option to include download functionality. Because streaming platforms (especially adult content platforms) have a tendency to purge entire chunks of their archive at the drop of a hat, I make it a point to only pay for subscription services where I have the ability to save to my local drives. If downloads are a 'Must Have' for you as well, I'd recommend skipping. But if you don't mind a streaming-only site, I'd say that Lustery is worth taking a chance on.
I can definitely see where you're coming from especially with the direction comment. I think that's completely valid. Very recently, there has been an explosion of so-called "Girl Love" (or GL for short) TV shows coming out of Thailand. They are produced for Thai TV, but also consciously aimed at an international audience, as they are all freely available on youtube and have English subtitles. I was alerted to this phenomenon by an academic paper that discusses this, which you can read in full here, if you are interested.
Basically these are romantic soap operas centered around a lesbian relationship. They are, I stress, not porn at all, but melodrama. According to the paper, it's part of the so called "Y industry" in Thailand, which produces "same-sex romance narratives created for women." Historically, this industry has focused on -- you guessed it -- "Boy Love" (or BL), which is media (TV shows etc.) that is "mainly created for and consumed by heterosexual women" and "caters to heterosexual women's fantasies of male homoeroticism." The article doesn't say this explicitly, but it's implied that BL has little following among actual gay men.
It's not until 2022 that the first GL series hit big time and proved enormously popular. It's called "GAP" and according to the article had 800 million views on youtube. You can watch the trailer here. In fact, the whole show, 12 episodes, are available on YT. I have not watched it, but judging from the trailer, it seems to be about a relationship between a rich and ruthless "lady boss" and her timid young female employee. But it turns out the "lady boss" herself is under pressure to marry -- gasp! -- a man and she doesn't want to! All very, very soapy stuff.
According to the article, originally investors were not willing to put up the money to produce a GL series because they weren't sure there was an audience, so the producer had to finance it out of his own pocket. Now that it has shown success, there has been a slew of copycats. Here's a table from the article of all recent such GL series. As far as I can tell they are all available on YT.
One interesting question is: who's watching this stuff? The article is very clear on two things: BL's audience is mostly straight women, but GL seems to have a very enthusiastic following among actual lesbian women. But surely there are not that many lesbians? The article doesn't really address this question. If we assume GL's audience follows the historical pattern of all soap operas -- that is to say, they are mostly watched by women -- then the conclusion must be that it's straight women who form the vast majority of GL audience.

Anyway this is my review of the last scene of the Elegant Angel movie Lesbian Performers of the Year 2024, between Serene Siren and Gizelle Blanco. Overall it's an excellent scene. On the positive side, is well directed and have some really good talent behind like Felecia or Stephanie Swift, but with the short lenght of the scenes, you can't enjoy so much of them. I wouldn't say is a terrible movie, but maybe one of the most dissapointing I ever seen.
