Rodney Mooore should cast Sasha and do one of his Howard Ramone skit, it sure would make a great scene :-)

I thought it was kinda strange that Howard Stern didn't want Sasha on his show. He has much much lesser known pornstars on who really haven't done much in many cases for no real good reason and now they have a chance to have on a pornstar who's a big name, is known for being outrageous, and appearing in a mainstream movie and he decides to pass on her? Doesn't make much sense...but so much about the show these days doesn't.
After Howard read that she wants to come on and supposedly confront him and said he was glad he he passed on her...that wasn't such a big surprise because it's just an example of what Howard has become these days. He just wants to do the easiest show possible so he can get out of there. Much of his passion is gone and he just goes through the motions these days.
There's a part of me that wishes he still have her on but another part of me says it probably wouldn't be all that interesting. The show is fairly repetitious these days. Howard typically asks his same old tired pornstar questions. Artie will chime in with his usual lame putdowns (particually if the girl shows she's smart) if the girl doesn't pretend to be into him. They'll ask the girl to get topless and ride the Sybian and that's about it. I'm sure Sasha has some interesting things to say but it'll mostly be about the wild sexual stuff she's done and how much money she makes.
On the other hand..."Interview With The Pornstar" is a show Richard Christy from the Howard Stern show does and it's always fun to listen to and watch. Richard is a true porn fan who knows a lot about the girls and his show is all about letting the girl shine and giving her props. I'd love to see Sasha do that show. It may not be the type of "deep" conversation Sasha would be into but it's fun to listen to the girls telling us about themeslves and the porn biz.

Finally read the piece.
I thought the last column of type was pretty interesting, as VG pulls out her writerly soapbox and addresses the reader more or less directly ... I thought it was a false construct to offer an "either/or" contrast between Sasha's "extreme sex as liberation, etc." vs. the presumed suffering of demure college coeds at the hands of insensitive boyfriends who expect them to do all those crazy sex acts they see in Sasha Grey movies. As if, the college-age girls today can't imagine such things, or desire them. I don't think Vanessa gives women enough credit for owning their sexual power, or wanting to explore it.
Porn is always a loaded issue, a funhouse mirror reflection of American culture's fundamental schizophrenia. But the writer's analysis is flat-footed. The piece itself is so scrubbed of anything actually pornographic (she witnesses a masturbation scene) that it's almost antiseptic. It's such a juicy subject, but there's not a spot of grease.

The Howard issue has absolutely nothing to do with wether or not he knows her work at all. Not even one little bit. 98% of the guests he has on his show are unknowns to him and everyone else. Howard Stern has a truly massive ego, that person you hear on the radio is who he is in real life, a world-class ego maniac. Sasha insulted him personally and wounded his ego so he's going to put her in her place. He does not ever like to be contradicted even when he's wrong. It's that simple. Had nothing to do with Sasha's career choices. The way to get on his show is abase yourself in front of him, tell him how wrong you were, massage his ego, and then say that you want to explain yourself on the show and you're willing to do anything they ask to prove it. They'll have you on in 24 hours. Howard is a colossal asshole so I wouldn't recommend doing that for the obvious reasons.

^In the past, I have listened to his show, and you are right about his standard M.O.
I think that it's funny that Sasha was able to get him all riled up with a simple joke.
Summing up: Sasha gets more mainstream press; Howard looks like his normal self and neither gains nor loses really; overall: Sasha wins.

I would have a lot more respect for Sasha, if she didn't say it as a joke...and stands by what she said. Too many people in the USA are terrified of saying anything against Israel or their way of doing things, because even the slightest bit of criticism is manipulated and taken out of context to make you look antisemitic.
To me, Jewish people in general, and the State of Israel are NOT the same. Comments made about one, should not apply to the other.
That said, a PORN FORUM is not the place to talk about World politics, and religions...so I'll drop the topic right here and carry on with discussing Sasha and her career choices. No need for Mods to get bent out of shape about my above comment,
cheers! :)

Here's a very good interview of Sasha with Scott Feinberg of the Feinberg Files (Los Angeles Times, The Envelope). They talk a lot about the porn industry. I wonder if Mike South has seen it, because if I'm not mistaken he's put Sasha down with a few comments on his blog something to the effect "she's not the biggest pornstar around" or something like that. I could be wrong though or read it wrong.
I love Steven Soderbergh films. I wonder, too, if there's much jealousy in the industry because of how far Sasha is getting or hopefully they're happy for her. Jenna Jameson never did this. Steven Soderbergh is a very respected filmmaker.

\\Last Thursday evening, Sasha Grey, one of the world's most popular porn stars, joined me at Brandeis University for an exclusive interview after a screening of "The Girlfriend Experience," Steven Soderbergh's critically acclaimed new -- and mainstream -- film in which she stars.
(The event marked the latest installment of the "Meet the Artist" screening and Q&A series on which Brandeis professor Alice Kelikian and I have collaborated, after visits over the last year by the likes of Alan Alda, Kate Beckinsale, Richard Jenkins, Melissa Leo, Mark Ruffalo and Michael Shannon.)
Early word of Grey's impending visit set the city of Boston abuzz, and -- as we learned via blogs, Twitter, talk radio and newspaper columns -- she is not someone who engenders mild feelings. Some said they had never before heard of or seen her; others said they had heard and seen a lot of her. Some said they vehemently disapproved of what she did for a living; others said they couldn't get enough of her work. Some were outraged that a prestigious university would invite her to visit its campus and that a respected publication would want to interview her; others -- especially the 300 students who managed to snag a ticket to the event -- were just plain happy that we did.
So, why did we? Well, to clear things up, for two main reasons: (1) "The Girlfriend Experience" is a significant film, and (2) Grey is, in her own way, a significant filmmaker. Allow me to elaborate...
* * *
"The Girlfriend Experience" is the 20th feature film directed by Soderbergh, one of the most admired and respected filmmakers working today. Before coming to Brandeis, it was test-screened at the Sundance Film Festival in January, had its official premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 28, and screened there again April 29, whereupon Variety called it a "fascinating study" and an "arthouse gem" that "finds the helmer in top, and truly topical, form."
Set in and shot during October 2008 in New York -- not long after the Eliot Spitzer scandal broke and the nation's economic collapse began -- it takes us into the world of a $2,000-an-hour escort (Grey) as she juggles personal and professional relationships; real and pretend emotions; and a lifestyle that is both extremely rewarding (financially) and extremely tolling (on the mind, body,and sometimes even the heart).
Twenty years ago, Soderbergh tackled a similar subject in "Sex, Lies, and Videotape" (1989), which kick-started the indie movement. He went on to earn two best director Oscar nominations -- one for "Erin Brockovich" (2000), and the other, which he won, for directing "Traffic" (2000). These days, he splits his time between directing big commercial fare like the "Oceans 11" trilogy (2001, 2004 and 2007) and smaller passion projects like "Bubble" (2005), "Che" (2008), and this one, which was shot in just 16 days, was overseen by a crew of fewer than a dozen and stars a group of people who had never before appeared on camera -- with one notable exception.
* * *
SASHA Twenty-one-year-old Sasha Grey not only plays a woman who makes her living through sex; she is one. Grey has worked in porn for three years, starred in over 150 adult films and won last year's AVN Female Performer of the Year Award, the highest honor in adult entertainment. Consequently, she is probably as qualified as anyone to shed light on the inner workings of this least discussed but most consistently profitable sector of the film industry.
Sex has never been a bigger seller than it is today. Over 13,000 new X-rated DVDs will be released this year. Thousands of new porn sites will join the hundreds of thousands already accessible with just a few clicks of the mouse. And the adult entertainment industry overall will reportedly earn over $13 billion this year. (It's so big, in fact, that some representatives of it recently requested -- and I'm not making this up -- a federal bailout.)
That said, how often have you heard or seen it discussed in any meaningful way?
Our society has never been more open. These days, we openly discuss virtually everything. And yet the one subject that can still make us blush is sex, even though we are all the product of it, most of us know about it, many of us practice it, and lots of us -- clearly -- watch it.
I, for one, believe that the phenomenal popularity of adult entertainment is too big to ignore any longer, and that we might learn a lot about our society and ourselves by actually, dare I say, letting loose and talking about it. Fortunately, Grey agreed.
* * *
The resulting video, which can be seen at the top of this post, runs for roughly an hour. In it, I pose questions to Grey (about the film, her life and her opinions on matters both heavy and light) and then open the floor to Brandeis students, who have several questions of their own.

Sasha Dear,
I'm sorry that Stern dissed you. You are now a member of a far from elite group.
I have been a listener since before you were a zygote, and over the years he's evolved from a whining snotty punk into a whining elitist fat cat.
His soul has been burned out for years, and he has an almost endless litany of character flaws, but racism isn't one of them.
Is he a xenophobe? Almost certainly. But a racist, no.
BTW, I would gladly give up my immortal soul to fall into those eyes of yours.

Here's an interesting piece about Sasha, "The Girlfriend Experience", and her future endeavors from AVN. It's an interesting read:
http://business.avn.com/articles/35305.html
My favorite part of the article was the following about whether Sasha intended to go mainstream, stay in adult, or both:
"Grey was asked repeatedly about the “mainstream crossover” hype surrounding her role in the movie. The 2008 AVN Female Performer of the Year told reporters that she does not intend to leave the X-rated business any time soon.
"Right now, I'm going to do both [mainstream and porn]," Grey said. "I think it's unprecedented that a woman from the adult industry has been able to really juggle both acts at the same time, and play a non-eponymous character in more than one film. I think the climate's right, and I think that if people enjoy what I do outside of adult films, there is room for growth and there is room for opportunity. I'm locked to shoot a film in August; I have the lead role - and I don't play a sex worker. I have two other scripts that I was just offered; they're in the very beginning stages. Again, they're both very challenging, different roles which I'm very excited about, because that's the next obvious evolutionary step. I enjoy the challenges of people saying no to me and me proving people wrong. That's just my natural personality."
Grey handled herself well, even when the "crossover" questions grew redundant.
"I don't think I'll be cast as Zac Efron's girlfriend in his next movie," she laughed. "You know, I'm not going to be in a teen movie, and I'm okay with that. I go back to the fact that there's very few women to do both [porn and mainstream film] at the same time. They usually quit and say, 'I'm a redeemed sinner, it's okay that I hate porn now, you can all accept me!'...and I think that's bullshit."
"

Can't wait to see the movie, Sasha. Oh, by the way, I think you're an intelligent young woman. But apparently, Mike South (I've got to quit reading his blog he's too biased towards Kayden Kross, who I like, but she's not the only intelligent porn star, duh)..anyhoo, he says you're semi-intelligent in his current Howard Stern rant on that episode. He gets on my last nerve with that biased stuff for the girls he represents. Only Kayden is the super intelligent porn star, no other porn star can be "as" intelligent. I'm being sarcastic here.
Good luck with your future acting endeavors, Sasha! I like how real you appear to be.

^Interesting read regarding the escort review sites.
As with one of the posters who commented over there, I think that the author of that piece is taking the implications of the character a bit too seriously. While there was one character in the film portrayed that way--which was apparently based to some degree on a real-life person--it's not like all of the clients were portrayed that way. He was just one scummy guy with whom Chelsea met up.
