I think that your physical and mental health should be the most important thing because if you aren't healthy than life tends to be quite unpleasant. If your agent is unwilling to give you the time to recuperate from an illness than he isn't doing his job properly. In fact it's borderline dangerous because you are then even more prone to catch other infections which will make your recuperation time even longer.
