I can say with Covid, no on is in a hurry to adjudicate cases and I would assume a case of her caliber is one that the courts are also willing to defer. [Link]

Curtis Flowers, incarcerated in Mississippi, received 500K, but if he had been incarcerated in Texas he would have received 1.7 million. There are also cases where someone is exonerated or gets parole and remains in prison for months and sometimes years. It's infuriating, depressing, traumatizing. Living in the state with the highest incarceration rate in the country starts to get to you. (And yes that means the highest in the world). [Link]

It wouldn't be entirely shocking if she was released at the end of the trial, whether she's found guilty or not, since she's already spent so much time behind bars. [Link]

Could the strategy be waiting out a statute of limitations on the charges? Like sit in county jail for 10 years and then the charges get dropped due to SOL? I don't know how that even works.
