how is this not a violation of her rights? unless the lawyers know there is no way to get her off and keep postponing it themselves so she serves all or the majority of her sentence in county. which is much easier compared to state prison. by the time this goes to trial she may have been locked up for 5-6 years and may actually be released on time served if they can plea it down to say 8-10 year sentence.
it keeps saying in the articles "held without bond until the two had liquidated their assets". essentially, they were broke by the time bond was set. how do you liquidate your assets if you are in jail locked up other than spending on a lawyer? why did neither of them hire a lawyer right away while they had access to cash\assets? i would have hired a lawyer within a day or two of being arrested. certainly, a top performer in the industry which she was at the time of her arrest should have had the means to somehow get a professional attorney following the initial arrest...
What is baffling about each time this has happened details are vague as to who is asking for these delays. This time likely new presiding judge but what about all the others? Is it the defense? Hard to believe its the prosecution but who knows? Wish these case " updates" bothered to find out rather than make many assume they are getting stepped on by the judicial system or they are dragging this out ala Trump though obviously they remain incarcerated which unfortunately the Plump Cheetoh still haunts us daily.
Really needs to be asked - Just who is involved in this entire episode, that "the elites" don't want anyone to find out about . - legitimate question for sure!
And if anyone hoped for new scenes after her release there is also bad news:
"I truly repent of my time in the adult industry and any negative input it has had on the world, and strive to find a new life in Christ, our Lord and Savior, through whom we may be redeemed."
It is said to play well with the judge & jury so they will go lenient in the case of a conviction, wouldn't read anything into it. Look how many actors & actresses joined that Shelley Luben grifter renouncing porn & many of them then went back to it when they worked out what a control freak she was & she was taking most of their money/cut/gifts. If she is convicted on the charges porn is about the only industry that welcomes people with those convictions, although with the US sentences & already in her forties, she might never see the light of day if convicted.
she will be a registered sex offender prob. for life no matter what happens unless she is acquitted of all charges. no matter how excepting the porn industry is that is one thing they legally cant accept. if a company hires a registered sex offender or a platform hosts their content i presume there is possible jail time for the ones who hire such a person. she would also go back to jail for violating the terms of her probation\sex offender registry. sadly, we will never see new milf content from her.
^ It is on that website. Last long paragraph towards the bottom of the article. Right above the final line of the article: "For more of XBIZ's coverage of the Mercedes Carrera case, click here."
is her defense hoping to get it delayed so many times and for so many years that it eventually gets thrown out? that is the only thing i can think. they know she cant beat the chargers and will do 5 to 10 years behind bars so just keep delaying it and eventually the courts will throw it out saving her maybe a few more years of jail time?
Or they might be trying to run up the time for a plea bargain

She's been locked up for half a decade now. Even XBiz has dropped any updates regarding her (last one was in Jan 2024).
I guess some fan (or friend?) started doing interviews with her that is recorded & broadcast for anyone interested (based on some of the titles alone, I'm not interested. I always found her political views disgusting).
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this whole thing. If she's guilty, throw away the key. But what if she's innocent? Sitting in prison for 5 years is a gross abuse of justice, to put it mildly.
My thoughts today are different than they would have been 5 years ago. First off, I FULLY AGREE that if she is guilty she desreves the harshest of penalties! As for my overall thoughts, I believe 100% that the prosecutuion is delaying any public trial to protect others (high profile individuals for sure) from being exposed in the entire situation, which could very well include child trafficking issues. This entire scenario should be, and should remain on, the public's radar!!! Whatever is happening with this case is pure evil from so many different perspectives, including, if not primarily, the criminal behavior of the prosecution.
Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to this thread.
Do they have such a thing as 'time served' in the States. If she eventually gets tried and convicted, does all the time she's been in custody get taken into account?
Five years on remand seems pretty outrageous, especially if she turns out to be innocent.

^ Not a legal expert, but I think we do have "time served" here in the States. 5 years is a helluva long time.

Apparently whatever they did to her, Mercedes is working because now she claims the adult industry is ruining America: "I've had five years to assess my life, and realized I'm extremely, extremely penitent about my time in the adult industry," Carrera says during the podcast episode. "I'm extremely penitent about my former ideology, because I see how that kind of liberal ideology, the adult industry, all of it is ruining America. All of it. So I believe at this point that God has put me in here to make things right with him. I believe God has greater plans for me, by taking me out of the adult industry, and so I'm grateful for that."
Fascinating how she overlooks how much those priests ruined things with their predatory inclinations but so be it. As Freddie Mercury would sing - another bites the dust

I have an abundance of respect for those who have been in porn who own that without shame like Abella Danger for example and Paige Owens rather than those who flip on the industry. Those who call for it to be banned or who disown it entirely after their time is done get no sympathy from me. I understand if you don't want to flaunt it but to pretend you barely had a presence in the digital age is kind of insulting.
Has she been convicted or is she still in jail without a trial? If the last thing I wrote is true.... how can this happen? This has been years and years...
