Curtis Flowers, incarcerated in Mississippi, received 500K, but if he had been incarcerated in Texas he would have received 1.7 million. There are also cases where someone is exonerated or gets parole and remains in prison for months and sometimes years. It's infuriating, depressing, traumatizing.
