Yes, a lot of things porn stars say in interviews are not exactly true. That's to be expected. However, how many times has any person said something definitively like "I'm going to live in this house forever" or "I'll never leave this job" or "I solemnly swear to take you as my wife" and then things change a couple months later. If you want to be critical of some girl that says she banged the football team in high school, go ahead. But for a comment like this, I'm sure a life event happened.
^ Speaking of which, she tweeted that she was cancelling a feature dancing gig last week for medical reasons (and I happen to know she cancelled a shoot she was going to do during the same trip), and seeing as she's been sick a few times now IIRC, I wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with her decision. OMG, tell me it isn't so! How am I going to function in life ever again? Just when you think you finally get to know someone and hope to spend of the rest of your life idolizing them, they just up and leave you. The world will never be the same and I for one don't think I'll ever recover from the tragic turn of events. I'm sitting here weeping about all the fond memories that she and I shared, those long nights together, the long picnic lunches in the park, the walks on the beach, the lazy days in the hammock, the staring out into the stars. My soul hurts so much.
^ Do you not think that post was tongue in cheek, mocking those who feel dejected when a porn actress retires? In the nicest possible way of saying this, pretty much every porn actress is replaceable. I enjoyed Dakota's stint while it lasted and I wish her the best in her retirement but somebody else will come along to take her place in a few weeks or months. I was crazy about Sasha Grey and Gianna Michaels when they were in the business but I'd be lying if I said I really missed them as there have been plenty of others taking their place.

^Carter Cruise is a pornstar and so was Sasha Grey, but other than that I don't many similarities between them. Whether or not Carter Cruise the pornstar is as good or better than Sasha was is a different question. Personally I would answer that question in the negative (at least for the time being), but either way I don't see how she has replaced Sasha Grey specifically. For example, I could think of at least two IR scenes that Sasha shot and I loved but that Carter Cruise would consider offensive and would have never performed in. Add that to the fact that Sasha and Carter don't look anything alike, don't really have the same performance style, etc., etc.
If you mean can anyone name a performer that looks like them and does what they did then the answer is no one but this is porn where there is always an influx of new blood to take the place of the performers that leave so that there is no true slack in available talent to enjoy. I would argue that even if there was a performer that looked like Sasha and did everything that she did. You would still be comparing her to Sasha and she would come out the loser. The reality at this moment is that the industry is no longer able to manufacture a performer like Sasha or Gianna because there are simply too few opportunities for them to truly shine like those women did. Someone said carter Cruise and I would have to agree that she is probably going to have as big an impact as a girl can these days. Which is not to say that it compares to what the impact would have been if she could started in porn prior to 2006.
Porn actresses I am or was fond of watching. I don't seek like for like replacements in terms of looks and what they do but rather whether they turn me on or not.

I suppose that some pornstars are basically interchangeable with one another, but I can't think of any that I'd regard that way.
Kota was one of my favourite pornstars in the last few years but..... fortunately there are at least 100 hundred Kota's waiting in the wings. Have a good life Kota.
You must live in a different plane of existence than me if you have 100 performer like Dakota waiting in the wings because as much as I think that someone will soon take her place. There are not 100 just waiting. In fact I would be hard pressed to think of even a dozen now in or upcoming that will have the impact Dakota had.

^Last year it was Alina and Bonnie, the year before that Remy, before that Jynx. The rest of this year it will be Keisha and Adriana. Everyone is replaceable. Obama gets shot, Biden is there step in. Biden gets hit the same time as Obama, Boenher (sp) steps up and so on.
^ Wait, what you're basically saying is that any popular girl in porn replaces any other popular girl in porn (because the women you just listed have almost nothing in common except all being porn performers). I'm not sure you're going to find many people that agree with you. Just because "X girl" becomes the most popular, it does not mean she replaced the previous most popular girl. In other words, these women aren't THAT interchangeable, especially when it comes to one person's opinion of them.
Hopefully Lexi belle will comeback and we can all relax. She's the best pornstar that's ever graced the earth IMO!

Quite the opposite actually. These women are all interchangeable given that the very nature of porn is transient, both for the girls and the viewers. The women I listed were all the "hot" "It" girls of the moment. Some left leaving the crowd wanting more thus their aura lives on; Alina, and say Keri Sable who is still lusted after even though she left how many years ago. You can add Kota to that list. But, a couple other former "It" girls are still doing porn; Bonnie, and Jynx, and they, while still popular don't have nearly the same cache as before. Give the porn world 6 months and you'll be lusting after someone else.
She launched, she flew, she retired - it happens, often. I note your mention of Keri Sable - she flew way higher than Dakota/Kota. Keri did lots of DP, gangbangs and plenty of ATP - Dakota/Kota, not so much. But, she was cute and tiny, and gave anal a go, so she gets a tick. I disagree with the general sentiment that liking one girl and then liking another means you've replaced the first girl with the second. You can like two different girls for two entirely different reasons, and finding a new favorite doesn't mean you've left behind the old one.
Truth. Anyone in any job and with any sense is going to say how much they like it, etc., until they find something else that they'd rather do or that's better. ^I was looking forward to her first IR scene. Now that there will be no such scene, disappointment is a perfectly reasonable reaction. Joy would be irrational. Indifference would only make sense if I were indifferent to her plans to shoot IR to begin with, which I wasn't. What role "racism" supposedly plays in this, I have no idea.
