These are the precise resolutions:
Assylum: 384 hex 2160
ATKGirlfriends: 4096x2160
Exotic4K: 4096x2160
Huccio: 4096x2304
InTheCrack: 384 hex 2160
NaughtyAmerica4K: 4096x2160
SinDrive: 384 hex 2160
Tiny4K: 4096x2160
WoodmanCastingX: 384 hex 2160
Technically, only four of the above sites offer the true 4K resolution of 4096x2160, with four of them offering the Ultra HD resolution of 384 hex 2160.

I think it might be some time before 4k downloads become popular. You need to view them on a monitor that is actually capable of displaying it at a native resolution if you're actually going to see the difference and there's only a handful of 32" 4k monitors on the market, almost all of which are over the £1000 mark. I'm just curious as to why sites are already putting up 4k versions when most people are not going to be able to appreciate it's value.

One of the benefits of shooting in 4K, is that 4K footage downscaled to 1080p generally looks sharper than native 1080p.
To quote the gay porn director William Higgins:
There's a video on YouTube which explains the technical reasons behind this.
Other benefits include the future-proofing of content as well as appealing to the PC gamers who are already gaming in 4K.

^ Ah I see, so that makes some sense. However, the files will still be considerably larger than 1080p versions. It will feel like I'm getting a second hand version of 4k (that's still better than native 1080p granted) but still paying the same fortune in storage space costs. It would seem as though HDD manufacturers are foreseeing what 4k will entail for storage space what with the emergence of 6TB drives but being as this is also fairly new, and therefore very expensive, the transition to 4k wholesale over 1080p is still too early for me, not at least until it eventually becomes more the norm and prices drop to something more reasonable.

This Pierre Woodman scene was shot in 4K and is available in these resolutions:
2160p: 6.64GB
1080p: 2.23GB
720p: 690MB
540p: 334MB
To give a comparison, this Woodman scene was shot using a 1080p camera and has the following file sizes:
1080p: 2.14 GB
720p: 778 MB
540p: 322 MB
Both of these scenes have almost identical running times and bitrates, and they were each encoded with h.264.
Hence, downscaling from 4K doesn't necessarily have to result in massive file sizes.

^ OK that is interesting I must admit. Could the same similarity in file sizes be assumed for all sites that have 4k content?

Since Naughty America started shooting in 4K, the sizes of their 1080p videos have increased, but this is due to the bitrate going up from 5000kbps to 12,000kbps.
With In The Crack, their 1080p file sizes have remained consistent despite the transition, as they've kept the bitrate at 8000kbps.
Tiny4K and Exotic4K are both new sites, although bizarrely, their 1080p videos are often larger than their 2160p equivalents. This is due to the 1080p videos having higher bitrates.
And with Assylum, the bitrates and running times of their 1080p videos are pretty inconsistent, although most of the file sizes clock in at under 2.5GB.

I'm usually obsessive about technical specs but I can't bring myself to care about that tiny difference, especially not when the most useful aspect ratio for practically everyone is 16:9.
What is much more important is the camera used, the postprocessing, the codec, and encoding software.
And I would pick 1080p with 60fps over 4K with 30fps any day unless I had access to some excellent motion interpolation hardware that could work on 4K without choking.

AFAIK unless they are using the 2020 color standard all the way, there's not better colors in the end file that you receive. Nor does the vast majority of current TVs or monitors support the color depth. I'm hoping that will change soon though.

I personally am waiting until the prices of 32" native 4k monitors become more common place and this cheaper, along with the new generation of xtra large HDDS (although these are not so expensive for their purpose) before I buy wholesale into the 4k market. I want to experience as it is meant to be on the proper equipment with the purpose-built technology. I can wait, 1080p at the moment more than does that job right now.

I was tempted to buy a Seiki 4K 39" television. It's an unknown (in the US, anyway) Chinese company, and this was their initial foray into the 4K market. They were apparently not totally ready for primetime in terms of features/connectivity, but the price on Amazon.com was down to something as low as $330 for some time. It looks like they're discontinued now. A lot of people bought them to use primarily as computer monitors because they're like having a quad of 24" monitors.

Of course not. You can encode any resolution at any bitrate if you want, the issue is just the resulting visual quality.
I must admit I'm quite amused how everybody's willing to go along with dubbing this resolution "4k" to make it sound even more grandiose than what it actually is, 2160p. Evidence that even the most blatant marketing tricks work, but that's probably off-topic.

^ True about the marketing. But the resolution is indeed pretty damn insane and I think it deserves to be advertised.
Just a shame that currently, all it is offering us is the resolution, and not the frame rate, the color depth, nor the bitrate that would have made it much more enjoyable.

I've just found out that the videos on http://jamesdeen.com/ are shot in 4K, however the maximum resolution in which you can download them is 1080p.
Also, a 4K porn video was recently filmed using a drone.

Hey, guys. A good compilation of sites and specs here. Let me add some detail/clarity on Assylum.
We shoot in 384 hex 2160.* The reason we chose this 4K standard is because it's what the television industry has adopted. This resolution will display on most 4K TVs pixel for pixel without any scaling.
We shoot in 10-bit color (not 8-bit like a lot of camcorders use) with very little compression, resulting in about 750GB to 2TB of footage per shoot. Then we compress the edited cut (reduce the bit rate) to produce 4K file sizes in the 5GB to 13GB range. Choosing the optimal bit rate is always a sacrifice. If it's too low, the quality will go down and not be different enough from 1080P to be worthwhile. But if it's too high, customers get unhappy because it takes too long to download the massive files on their computers. When it comes to bit rate, we've chosen a middle road to make the most people happy that we can.
Eventually, when the newest compression formats become prevalent, is will be possible to deliver very-high-bit-rate 4K files in the 2GB to 4GB range. We'll eventually be switching over to one of these formats, but we are waiting for more people's computers to be compatible with them.
In terms of frames per second, we're currently at the film standard of 24FPS. This gives us a bit of a filmic look, which is nicely suited to the narratives and drama that go into many of the Assylum scenes. Another benefit of 24FPS is that it helps keep files sizes in that 5GB to 13GB range. If we increased frame rate by 25% to 30FPS, our files sizes would increase by 25% as well. Of course, some people like faster frame rates and less motion blur, so we plan on surveying our customers on this once the more space-saving video compression formats are widespread. If customers prefer 30FPS or even higher, we'll give them whatever they prefer once the new compression formats allow us to do so without raising file sizes to ridiculous proportions.
I love the technical side of stuff. Hope this adds insight on our own approach!
By the way, I can moderately recommend the SEIKI 4K TVs for anyone needing a cheap entry into 4K. We had one here as a backup, but ultimately discarded it as we were not able to calibrate the color to professional standards. But it was fine for basic entertainment viewing.
*Disclaimer: Our 4K camera is a BIG and HEAVY professional 35mm camera, not a camcorder. So we do supplement our 4K main camera footage with 1080P footage from smaller, nimbler cameras--for example, when a camera operator needs to dive under some legs or jump up on a ladder in a quick second to capture the spontaneous, authentic moments we always seek on our site. Content and authenticity alway trumps resolution at our site. Nevertheless, the amount of shot-in-4K content in our scenes is in the 80% to 100% range.

^ Thanks for the insight. There seems to be movement in the industry now and I'm excited to see where it leads us.
As for your frame rate argument, I understand the bandwidth and storage argument right now and I understand why you're using 24fps. But I don't agree with it. The "film" look is IMO 90% nostalgia and might still have value for some when it comes to drama and art, but by definition porn is about sex which is an activity which means that we are talking about motion. 24fps is a really bad fit for motion. I want to move beyond 30fps, so I feel a bit disheartened when we finally get a resolution increase and at the same time we are moving backwards in frame rate (which is to me a more important metric given 720p and above resolution).

JohnW, that's a reasonable position held by more and more people as our culture evolves from the original days of motion pictures.
Frame rate affects different kinds of motion in different ways. Fast sideways movements of the camera, or things like a ball or car speeding laterally across the field of view, tend to result in a lot of blur at slow frame rates. However, a cock going in and out of a hole at a 45 degree angle in the center of the screen will have much less blur. Still, there are subtle differences in the overall look and feel that people may notice. Right now, we're finding that camera sensor size, color depth, and the bit rate of the final cut are more noticeable than FPS in the overall look for the type of content and motion we're shooting, so we've optimized these as much as we can without creating insane file sizes. Once the more efficient video formats are widespread and we can increase the FPS as well, we will certainly do so if our customers prefer the faster frame rates.
One of the really exciting opportunities, btw, with fast frame rates is the ability to produce stunning slow-motion sequences. Once you get into crazy-fast frames per second, you can do things like record a cum shot and then play the whole shot back slowly at crystal-clear sharpness. We're thinking about a lot of these types of things over here--including some things I can't share on the board, because they're trade secrets right now. But let's just say I'm with you on harnessing the full power of technology as it becomes practical to do so. :)

Naughty America just released one 4k scene that is like 9gb no thank you I think no signal scene should be over 3.8gb Tiny 4k and Exotic 4k their 4k scenes are like 2.6gb to 3.4gb I am fine with that. Any scene over 4gb most of the I pass on it most of the time it has to be a really good long 1080p scene for me to download it. Even it I had 10tb of HD space available I would still not download these really big size scenes

Hi, guys. Just a quick update: Assylum.com is now shooting at 30FPS since customers seem to prefer this frame rate over the traditional 24FPS of film. The 4K world is changing fast, and we've updated our technology already since November.

A site I am a member of is promising 4K video in the future and released a sample.
Here are the Codec specs from VLC.
4k.jpg
The container is an mp4 file. Does this qualify as 4K?

Just wait for as H.265/x265 has evolved enough so people and companies have started using x265 encoding HD videos which should help with coping in 4K file sizes (of course now that they perfected H.264 and massively adopted).
Can't wait for more adoption of h.265.

^ If you want to get picky, it's not 4K according to DCI (cinematography) which is 4096x2160, but is in TV 384 hex 2160. Along with TV, the gaming community considers 4K 384 hex 2160 (I consider 4K 384 hex 2160 cause it's 4x the pixels/resolution of 1080p), so...
Here's a good summary

So UHDTV is pretty close, but not quite all the way 4K. Is it dishonest of them to bill it as 4K, or just part of marketing 101 in the porn industry?

Yeah it's both marketing and stupid camps.
Yeah UHDTV (384 hex 2160) isn't technically the DCI 4K standard (which besides 4096x2160, had other encoding specs), but as other tech crossroads (esp digital trends) manufacturers and providers have to decide on what specification they want to adopt. If you remember at height of format wars of Blu-ray and HD-DVD, both were next gen, hi-res, but some wanted to adopt the Blu-ray, others HD-DVD.
But if you think of it, if TV providers chose the 384 hex 2160 camp, the manufacturers of LCD TVs chose to make many in 384 hex 2160, then marketing said it was 4K. So you are right that it's false advertisement, but because of many factors people have adopted 384 hex 2160 as "4K" cause 1). it's 4x 1080p res 2). it's nice 16:9 aspect ratio etc. etc. I'm normally against false advertising and everything, but there's so many different resolutions/standards/formats (see below) and camps (~ 8MP MegaPixels (4K)), that I just go with others, 384 hex 2160 as de facto approximation (for ~ 8MP), because TV hardware and gaming have adopted it as "4K", UHD, or the next step up from 1080p. Of course providers/channels/websites will adopt a varying W x H resolutions as their 4K, but....
I sent someone a really good article explaining 4K and all the jazz, but can't find it. Here's a good ExtremeTech article that might help you some more.
Format
Ultra high definition television 384 hex 2160
HXGA (Hex eXtended Graphics Array) 4096x3072
WHXGA 512 hex 3200
DCI 4K (native resolution) 4096x2160
DCI 4K (CinemaScope cropped) 4096x1716
DCI 4K (flat cropped) 3996x2160

That's a rather simplistic statement. Resolution is only part of what qualifies as UHD since you have colour depth to consider as well among other things. You'll also find those arguing that content shot in native 1080p and later upscaled to the 384 hex 2160 px isn't "true" UHD.

Sorry I don't understand you morgan28d. For the video to be considered as 4k, it should be shooted with 4k cameras and it should be released with resolutions near to 384 hex 2160 . If its shooted with 4k cameras and be released with 192 hex 1080 resolution its not 4k and obviously vice versa is not 4k either and its pointless.

^ "Pointless" is debatable. Studios (porn or otherwise) have shot in higher native resolutions than is published for years as it facilitates futureproofing if they wish to include 4K at a later date.
Nutabu may not consider 4K to be big enough yet to be worth the extra bandwidth costs. Maybe when 4K becomes or is close to becoming the staple resolution, they'd consider releasing their videos in 4K?

I said pointless for the vice versa situation like you shoot with full hd cameras but you upconvert it to 4k resolution and you fake that resolution while your original source is 192 hex 1080. So i guess this situation is pointless and its not "debatable"
Yeah like you've said futureproofing sounds very reasonable, I do very well understand it. Thanks for reminding that.
What i hate is that SOME OF THE BRANDS/STUDIOS/NETWORKS try to create the perception that when they shoot with 4k cameras but supply videos with 1080p, they acting like they switched to 4k and use it for themselves and try to profit from this. Its not YET happening with 4k but we are still seeing on DVD covers written -> " shot in FULL HD "

I"m one of the people that bought that monitor about a year ago when it was around $500 and it was totally worth it IMO. Best upgrade since SSD hard drives for computers came out IMO!
It does tend to saturate the colors a bit for a more vibrant look so it's not color calibrated as mentioned but I actually prefer the colors on it to my Macbook Pro's retina display which looks washed out and dull in comparison! Really great look for watching porn too since lips look redder, skin look better, etc. IMO. and I"m not the only one it seems since you can read the Amazon reviews for this monitor yourself and see that most buyers are overjoyed and as happy as I am with this 4k display :)

Well that's one area where 4K would really shine I would think i.e. woman's hymen for sure!
Even if they don't really have an intact hymen, which would be really rare, you should still be able to see so called hymen tags.
Inthecrack already does a really good job of this since they zoom right in there.
How many men have ever actually seen a hymen?
