For those unfamiliar with it, this is from the "Daily Wire," part of the US conservative media ecosystem. Of course I'm not saying those people necessarily believe it. It's very likely all part of a grift to alarm the easily alarmed in order to get more attention and make money. At least pornhub is honest about trying to make money.

As for how many women watch porn, I've finally found a good source. This is a paper titled "Documenting Pornography Use in America: A Comparative Analysis of Methodological Approaches" published in 2015 (you can find the full text of it by searching for it at this website). It's written by three researchers: Mark Regnerus from University of Texas at Austin, David Gordon from Austin Institute for the Study of Family and Culture, and Joseph Price from Brigham Young University.

It summarizes multiple porn use surveys. The earliest survey it found was the 1992 National Health and Social Life Survey, where it asked respondents if they had purchased or rented had purchased or rented any X-rated videos or movies in the past 12 months, the answer was yes for 23% of men and 11% for women.

The paper mostly focused on four more recent massive surveys: RIA (Relationship in America, 5165 US adults surveyed in 2014), NFSS (New Family Structures Study, 2922 US adults surveyed in 2011-2012), NSYR (National Study of Youth and Religion, 2499 surveyed in 2008), and GSS (General Social Survey, 2037 surveyed in 2014).

Here are the summary results.

Those dashes represent the fact that the different surveys asked different questions (for example, only RIA survey asked about porn use in the past week or month). But basically you can see for women, it's around 20-40%, depending on how the question is framed.

Now compare this to the pornhub user data, where in 2014 about 25% of the viewers were women, and now it's about 35%. They are roughly comparable. In fact to me the surprise is not that pornhub number is so high, it's the fact they are so low, since the social surveys data were about ALL women, whereas pornhub data is about people who are visiting a porn website.
