Millions of people in every profession are on anti-depressants. Many lives have been saved due to anti-depressants. Not sure what you're driving at here.

Don't get your hopes up! Nothing of any relevance will be discussed. If there was anything of substance it'll have come out already. One doesn't need to read past the use of the word "cryptic" in the header and also the prominent use of "rumor" in the blurb to determine that it'll be little more than clickbait. I liken this to the random Facebook posts where someone will dilberately post something along the lines of:
OP: "It's sad when someone who says they love you disappoints you! I'm strong and will rebound!"
15 different responses: "what's the matter, are you ok?"
OP:"I don't want to talk about it!"
Let this woman Rest In Peace already.

^ That's actually what I thought reading the article: aren't all these things already known?
But I disagree that we should just let this be. The effects of social media bullying, particularly on individuals with mental health issues, does need to be seriously looked at.

A lot of interesting information here:
So it seems like Ronson personally saw the footage, and from the sound of it, it does seem like Markus was too rough for Ames' liking. The thong bit in particular stands out as pretty extreme, especially by Ames' standards, she never really did do rough scenes with things like that. But perhaps the most damning evidence for this theory would be those texts referring to Markus going "full on War Machine." To be compared to a woman beating convict is not a good look at all, and goes to show what August thought of him and their scene. I think this is more than just a podcast trying to get views, this really does seem like something that's worth looking into.

This is a bit much: 'When you think about it, what we were watching in that moment was the moment that she decided to die.' Unless the texts go on to say she felt like dying because of the shoot, this reads like classic British journalistic sensationalism.

What I took from the article is that when someone is as fragile as August was it doesnt take much to set the wheels in motion. I dont watch b/g so I never watched the scene but if she wasnt the same after that scene because of how the scene went then that was the point that set the wheels in motion. The cyber bullying was the final straw.
This article certainly gave me something to think about but regardless its still a sad situation. That just reminds me that we as a society have to know how to respect others. We have to learn how to talk to someone and how to approach someone. They may look one way on the outside but be totally different on the inside. So we shouldnt assume anything. We should just show respect and be kind because literally we can save a life.

The New York Post article claims the scene was "never released to the public".
So now Markus Dupree is guilty of August's death? Hmmmmnja...

So it was a scene for Brazzers (according to TRPWL)... which director? I thought Tony T was already gone from Brazzers at that time...

This is when the hypocrisy of the adult entertainment shows its face. Performers who stood for August have yet to speak about the situation. Why? Because lets face it Markus has become a big face in the industry. He's a regular for sites like Lansky and JJV, and speak up against him would hurt their pockets. Nicole Aniston has spoken up about him, but you have Abella who has a profile picture of August on her Twitter hasn't said a word. It's not just Abella but others as well. I'm curious to hear what Jules Jordan and Lansky have to say.

And then there's girls like Katrina Jade, who have no problem fucking James Deen, speaking out on the situation like they're part of the solution. This whole things a mess and there's no easy solution

^ Blaming the hypocrisy of female performers that haven't spoke out is sort of missing the point though. The responsibility for this type of shit has to fall on the big name companies and directors who enable and even encourage it. I'm sure Dupree was just doing what he was told to do, just like Rico Strong was doing what he was told to do in his scene with Leigh Raven.
I'm all for getting rid of these guys, but it's not going to change anything unless you can force some kind of ethical standards on the people bankrolling it. It is a mess, and mainstream porn clearly has a labor problem.

Damn I never ever though that 1 year later a plot twist will happen (with all due respect, I'm not joking), I know that porn industry is not perfect but when it comes about the guys, the only hurt ones is the girls, even some of the colleagues dont stand up for the girl. This is even sadder now thinking about August depression and suicide...

I think a lot of people are evading the subject because they saw what happened to other performers (and not just minor performers... Nikki Benz, for example) and they fear the same treatment, which basically means isolation. But somehow the whole movement needs a change of address. If the allegations against Dupree are true, I'd be glad if a relevant (and not allergic to spotlights) director like Lansky spoke up and took immediate action. Violent performers (and directors/producers/whatsoever who instigate them) must be banned.

lol yes... this is just fake news. They're just "sexing up the story"... so much "sensationalism".................
Abuse is a real problem obviously in everyday life but also in the porn industry. Sweeping it under the rug with such casual comments is despicable.
Performers sign up for certain acts during their scene and often the line is walked or even completely crossed. At that point god knows how a girl is going to react, and it's nobody's right to say "well she should have done X" because you weren't in her position. Her previous personal problems has nothing to do with what happened to her on set AT ALL.
y'all need help

The solution stop worry about which girl is a "hypocrite" and focus on the real problem of both the male talents and the males behind the scenes that still think it's okay to take advantage of female performers.
Just because a girl here or there might be talking about of both sides of her mouth doesn't mean this isn't a big issue.
It's not a "mess", the problem is clear, some people just want to ignore it.

I hate to say it but I just don't see this type of thing ever going away. It's all just a disgusting cocktail of men/studios having power over the women because they supply the work/shoots, women needing to do shoots and are in fear of not shooting again if the don't comply, people working on shoots fearing losing their jobs if they speak up or do anything, and the general way women in the industry are seen as unimportant things that are in abundance.
Often times the men making and shooting movies and supplying the work are in control and they get away with vile things simply because they can. the girls need to work, the crew needs to work, the company behind them needs them to continue making money for them. The male performers get away with being assholes because they are viewed as more important than the women even though that makes absolutely no sense. The male performers take advantage because they are physically stronger and intimidating and have the added bonus of knowing the woman will allow things to happen out of fear of not getting paid or not working again. Then to top it all off we have a segment of fans who like seeing women abused in their porn and are quick to dismiss a woman who speaks out against bad treatment on a porn set.
The only way this ugly nonsense stops is for the performers to produce their own content.

Some interesting comments from some Porn actress etc on this Twitter post so far.
Alix Lovell
Ugh this literally turned my stomach. I experienced this in one of my first scenes in Florida like 4 years ago and it's the most awful thing to feel like your being raped on set even though you did consent. I was in pain from that scene
but i Black listed him after that.
Nicole Aniston
Once was enough for me too, not a good experience. Never again
Alex Harper
Well now I'm glad my scene w/him got cancelled. Jesus Christ
Jade Nile
I actually had to run to make up and cry when I worked with him because he pushed me off him and the other girl at one point and yelled at me for ruining the scene and was really agressive. He's been on my no list since our first and
only scene.
Ashley Sinclair
I've said (since my first hardcore porn scene) that women SHOULD have an advocate of their choice on set at every shoot. That would end most of this! I've done very few scenes where I didn't have a male advocate ready to whip someone's ass who disrespected me or took advantage!
Correct me if I'm wrong but when people stand up and speak out isn't this called a movement?

They all do now, and good for them. Even industry heavyweights like Angela White or Abella Danger, they're producing their own content on other platforms and (hopefully) thriving off it. Even in a warped environment, nobody should ever have to put up with what August or countless others had to deal with to get paid for their work. I still see mainstream directors bitching about onlyfans and stuff. Fuck that, get yours. Porn isn't going to fund your 401K. You don't owe anything to any of these companies.

^I agree J_B. One other thing I would mention which is politically incorrect in these parts is the tubesite factor including that one that can't be named or linked to. Performers can make money there to and there are some fairly established tubesite porn stars. This should also be a money making option but the legacy producers look down on performers who supplement too much of their income from those platforms.

Performers need to stand up for performers, it doesn't matter that it hasn't happened to them. What you're going to hear from a lot of the female performers is "well he's always treated me fair" "he didn't do that to me". It's sad, when August tragedy happened a lot of the big name performers spoke up against bullying. Yet now most of them are silent, if they were to put him on their "no list" he wouldn't get anymore work. The studios will continue to hire him and nothing will come out of this because that's the way this industry is. I hope I'm wrong on this.

I read the text that August sent talking about the scene. It was disgusting how the crew just let all of that happen. She talked about how Murkas was talking bad things about her in Russian. She felt so disgusted that she is spat in his face when he tried to kiss her. Like it makes me even more upset reading the text because nobody did anything to stop what was at least very uncomfortable and at best rape. How could anyone enjoy shooting or producing a scene where the girl doesnt look like she is enjoying it? I know the bottom line is money but thats blood money to me. The sad thing is nothing is going to happen to Murkas for the most part.

^ No, it doesn't really say anything other than "gross--I guess my previous optimism about the podcast might have been hasty." As far as my thoughts on workplace abuse, if you had any familiarity with my posts whatsoever you wouldn't have leapt to such a weird assumption. I don't post on the Internet with prefaces for strangers who don't know me; therefore I don't feel the need to clarify "before I go any further with my comment, here is my ethos." If you think my criticism of Ronson for sensationalizing a performer's tragic death and, in the process, minimizing it amounts to a lack of care for abuses on set, that's your problem. If you are interested in my position on sex worker rights, sexual assault, feminism, and workplace harassment, search the site. It's all there.

Some big studios banned Deen when several performers came forward after the Stoya tweets. And Rico Strong hasn't had much work since the Leigh Raven incident. So Dupree should get the same fate.

I have to image it's kinda complicated. I have to image there are a lot of friendships built in porn and it would be hard for performers to just badmouth or demand to get another performer banned when their interactions with the same person has been pleasant or problem free or to want to see something bad happen to a performer they see as a friend. So I get it when a performer makes the statement "He didn't do that to me..." because when they worked together it probably went fine. As much as people want to point fingers at the performer (and they sometimes deserve most of the blame) I personally put much more blame on the director. We don't know if the director told the performer ahead of time to perform a certain way and do certain things. And even if the performer is an ass and starts getting rough or inappropriate with the girl he/she should stop it immediately. Plus, if the director sees that performer does that type of thing time after time the director should stop using that talent and let them know exactly why.
And while I don't blame the girls whatsoever, I have to admit I firmly believe they have to say something during the shoots if they are uncomfortable with what's going on. I get and totally understand the fear of ruining the scene or being blackballed but it would be so much easier to prove a case if they at some point they made it known they are in distress. It would also be awesome if there was some sort of network that the girls could get on and share good and bad experiences with other girls. A new girl or a girl wondering if it's okay working with someone they never worked before should be able to go somewhere and get some sort of rating or idea if the guy is an ass or not.

So performers feel like they cant stop the scene if they feel like they are having a bad experience because they arent going to get paid on top of having that bad experience. I was thinking about why cant studios have a policy of if a performer stop a scene because of having a bad experience they will still get paid? Its kind of like if at work I slip and fall and get hurt I get a paid leave for absence until Im healed and ready to get back working.
I think if a performer tells those involved in the scene what their boundaries are and their boundaries are still crossed, like Katrina Jade said she hate to be slapped in the face. She said she continued the scene because she was ok and she still wanted to get paid. If she had stopped the scene because she said it was a bad experience and there is proof she was slapped which all parties involved know she hate to be slapped, why cant she still get paid?
I think that would allow for a better environment for all performers because they know either the scene will be a good experience but if its not they can leave at any time and still get paid while the studio could tell the male performer to not cross any lines because an unfinished scene hurts the studio because they arent making any money with no product. If that male performer doesnt apply then it hurts his reputation and chances for more work especially with that studio because he is literally costing them money while hurting their reputation.

Ideally, in a perfect world, that's how things would work.
However it's clear that the adult industry is still behind the times. There is no union, and employee rights are treated more like a suggestion than law.
Girls feel like they're not powerful enough to make a difference. If one girl speaks out, all the big-wigs in the industry (mostly males) band together and blacklist her. Therefore, if she wants to continue to work, she has to keep quiet, otherwise she'll get the reputation of being "difficult to work with". It also doesn't help that producers will very easily move on; there are so many amazing, gorgeous girls in the industry that if one is stirring up trouble, they'll just hire someone else. It's not like pro sports where the employer has to make nice with their employee because they're not easy to replace, especially if it's a star player.
What the adult industry needs is some sort of union or at least a large, strong group of girls that can effectively blacklist certain producers or performers if wrongdoing occurs.

^ What is sad though is there are alot of strong, bright, independent women in this is business that shouldnt take crap from nobody. They got into the industry because its what they love and not because they need to. I just think it comes down to the pressure. If you dont stand for something you will fall for anything. Im loving hearing all these women stand up and speak out. Im their biggest fan, even those Im not particular a fan of their work or at least a big fan of their work Im a fan of them in support of them speaking out. To those I am a big fan of it makes me even a bigger fan of them. I like to see people in general empower other people. Society can call it a movement or whatever but I just love to see others take a stand for a great cause. It sickens me to hear situations like what Lily went through or August went through. Other performers have suffered as well. So speaking up can help bring about a change.

Good news
California Law AB2328 that was passed back in September 30, 2018 is now in effect.
Some highlights of this law are:
1700.51 This law requires that talent agencies are required to provide educational material on sexual harassment prevention, retaliation and reporting resources, nutrition and eating disorders for all adult artists within 90 days of the date of the agreement of representation.
A record that talent agencies provided this educational material to all adult model artists must be kept for 3 years.
You can read the Assembly Bill No. 2338 here
https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB2338
Hopefully this law will educate and empower all actress to speak up and no longer suffer with a better understanding of what reporting resources are available to them.

Why do you say that? One look can say a thousand words. I work with someone who's sister did some porn. I watched one of her scenes actually several, and I can say without a doubt that I saw the exact moment when the girl had a change of heart and was done doing porn. As the old saying goes, the eyes are the window to the soul.
