I found August an interesting follow on twitter. She seemed to really appreciate her fans. It's heartbreaking loss and the continuing controversy is unpleasant.

Over on the Star Crossed forum her thread was first created back in Nov 2013 (basically 4 years ago now) and the part title says "Homegrown Hooters from Heaven", and man does that make her death and this photo so ironic. Not saying that the title foreshadowed her tragic death or anything, but I just find it so crazy.

Some events like this are just sad,,,
Unfortunately August paid to much mind to those that should be simply dismissed.
Karma will address those people in due time.

That isn't what she tweeted-she said she did her homework & didn't work with anybody who has done gay porn as she doesn't know what they do in their private lives. She didn't say anybody doing gay porn currently. We don't even know who the performer is either as she didn't name him. Plainly what she is posting is factually incorrect, since there are a multitude of guys that have done gay & switched to mainstream & the majority of female performers have worked with them.
whichever (lady) performer is replacing me tomorrow for @EroticaXNews , you're shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know. BS is all I can say🤷🏽‍♀️ Do agents really not care about who they're representing? #ladirect I do my homework for my body🤓✏️🔍

NOT homophobic. Most girls don't shoot with guys who have shot gay porn, for safety. That's just how it is with me. I'm not putting my body at risk, i don't know what they do in their private lives.

Sure, nobody is disputing that, the problem was that she felt the need to post what she did & do it in a way that tried to guilt trip the female performer who stepped in to fulfill her booking, the male talent she was working with & the company filming it. Her initial tweet was actually totally unprofessional, if you don't want to do a scene then fine-the company didn't say anything, neither did her replacement, nor it seems the male star. In reality she was telling the female actress replacing her who she should & shouldn't have sex with & her statement made no sense seeing as she had shot with multiple gay performers herself, as had nearly every one of her female peers. Nobody had a gun to her head making her do the scene, she cancelled it & the company replaced her-end of story, the public don't need to know that-it happens regularly in porn when performers have to cancel because of illness, family emergencies etc.

The death of August Ames has exposed the hypocrisy and racism from folks like Jessica Drake and Alexis Monroe (won't fuck black pipe),who have the nerve to bully someone for not working with crossovers? Really Miss monroe???

This is exactly accurate. They need to police their movement because parts of it have now become that which they profess to hate.
You really do not understand how depression works. More so, you are advocating that she stay away from her own twitter feed because others are openly advocating that she kill herself. While in general i agree that twitter is much ado about stupid shit, in this case people were advocating her death, some in her own industry, so your advice is to hide so others aren't having to take responsibility for their words and actions.
You have no idea what it's like to be at or near that place in you life when you have to leave. Anyone who has would never make that statement.

You're obviously not a serious person as your response to a tragic incident of bullying a depressed woman is to create a spectacularly stupid and inaccurate meme as a means of attacking gay people. However, I'd be at least moderately impressed if you had the courage to actually post it from your original account rather than go creating a sockpuppet profile.

It in no way makes light of the tragedy. I consider it an accurate reflection of how out of hand the LGBT lobby has become, now with tragic consequences.
Please elaborate on who you think I'm a sockpuppet of, this will be good.

How can the LGBT community "police their movement"? How can they stop people like Kurt Lockwood going online and posting ridiculous shit? These are the same arguments people used against #GamerGate.
Pretending that the gay community don't have any right to fight back against what they perceive to be unfair stigma is not helpful. It might fit a narrative you're trying to create, but it's not helpful. Mainstream porn actresses themselves deal with this on a daily basis, they have stood in front of senators to try and end the stigma towards them, but when the gays try to do it, suddenly they're evil? Nah, you guys aren't the heroes of free speech you think you are, you're incredibly inconsistent.
Turning August Ames' death into a bat to beat the entire LGBT community with is unfair and opportunistic. It's no better than militant LGBT folk calling anyone they disagree with to be disgusting homophobic bigots.

By disavowing his statements. Blind acceptance of intolerable speech or actions as long as those espousing it support your agenda is no longer acceptable.
Edit
And you obviously didn't read what I posted, because I said parts of that organization are now just as bad as the people that hate them. I did not condemn the whole movement. As with every portion of society, there are bad people in it. "Well he's on our side, so we can let it go" is wrong and always has been.

You don't want to. You get to the point where you can't be here anymore and it's time to leave. Once you get to that place, without a moment of clarity or outside intervention, you won't make it.
This won't make any sense but it's the most terrifying {because you don't know what's next} and at the same time, the calmest {because you know it will nearly be over} place you can be in.they could have
Hopefully her note provides answers.

The entire LGBT "movement" needs to die, IMO. They long ago achieved all the reasonable objectives. That's always the stage where activist movements turn cancerous and start pushing ridiculous ideas. Unfortunately, there are enough stupid people out there that eat up the insanity and consider it virtuous based on its origins in what started off as a movement for justice.
The idea that anyone should be under any obligation whatsoever to justify themselves over their choices of sexual partner is totally abhorrent. This is a red line, I am entitled to be as racist, sexist, homophobic, and/or transphobic as I like about where I stick my cock, end of story.
It just so happens I enjoy sticking my cock up the asses of women, men, and anything in between. Yes, I am a qualified member of this community, and as such I know I'm not alone in thinking this has to stop. The more we let these cretins get away with, the bigger the backlash will be. If sane LGBT people don't stand up against the militants, then we risk going down with them when the inevitable backlash comes.

Saying it's them not me is a way for everyone to avoid responsibility. We have all said mean things online. 17 years ago Jenna Jameson pointed out my hypocrisy when I said something mean about fake boobs. She was right. I was wrong. Stop pointing fingers and focus on your own words.

That's supposition supporting the Mirrors agenda being forced into the story. While I still feel that the posters were the straw that broke Augusts back, without her statement that's all it is, my opinion. And that's the tricky part, isn't it?
When your right to free speech starts to interfere with someones life, then according to the law, isn't that illegal? I haven't gone through her tweets, but if she asked them to stop and they did not, that defiantly is harassment.
And if that happened, then a case could possibly be made for manslaughter, but that is probably a stretch.
It is possible to disagree with someone without being a total dickhead and making them feel like a piece of shit just because they do not agree with you. The tweet examples here from the supposed tolerant left show none of that.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Jessica Drake killed herself after all the online criticism she received? Then all the fucking hypocrites in here would have to crawl back in here and on social media and edit/delete their hate. Even funnier if some of them said well, "she deserved it" and "it's not our fault." Keisha Grey and Co is currently trying to get Jessica banned from the industry for having "an opinion" she didn't agree with. Fucking scumbags as all you "nice people" would say.

It is, of course, an admirable sentiment that everyone should consider the impact of anything they are saying on the other person. However, I don't think your example really stand comparison to what has happened here.
Over recent years activist movements of various flavors have been weaponizing accusations of bigotry in a despicable and insidious way. It's quite blatantly used to bully people into giving them what they want, by making the victim feel like they are a bad person if they refuse. What's sickening is that that by it's very nature this only works on soft targets, people who want to be good, but lack the self esteem to recognise when they are being taken advantage of, or the confidence to stand up and say no.
Whenever you see any activist talk about what out-group members need to do to "be a good ally", it's usually the same shit. And when you see the "good allies", they are the most miserable mind-fucked people you'll ever meet. This is a Marxist demoralisation tactic, and it's fucking cancerous.

I believe that those militants are those everybody is referring to not the LGBT community as a whole , nor anybody is denying any right to fight back unless it means to kill or push to death anybody they just perceive as homophobic bigot , which ,no matter how disgusting his or her ideas are, still has a right to be as such and not be killed for his/her ideas.
anyway August didn't say anything against gays or the LGBT community , she just said she no longer would perform with crossovers performers , and this was due not because of them being gay or be or be crossovers , but it was due to their PROTOCOLS for safety if they change those protocols maybe the issue would resolve themselves.
Along her twitter nobody there cared to explain why she was wrong , they said we test, here's the deal on straight porn if you aren't negative you can't perform , in gay porn they shoot with HIV+ performers although they say they shoot with HIV+ only or they shoot with condoms
nobody there specified what are the protocols someone said he tests.
I remember the last HIV scare where a performer sued Kink , her boyfriend used to perform in gay porn and there came out there a law where no gay could be forced to test , nor to show his test in their workplace.
It was a law put to protect gay people from harassment and discrimination at work , I agree with such purpose.
But then it was said that gay performers would show them by their own will nobody could even ask or forbid them to work without.
I'm not American and I'm not familiar with such law , so I'm asking if that is true.
If it is , no protocols pertaining HIV could be enforced in the WORK ENVIRONMENT of gay porn .
Plus anal sex has a higher percentage of risk than vaginal sex
hence the perceived risk by many female performers.
As long as the PERCEIVED attack on the LBGT community allows those who do to attack those just PERCEIVED homophobic bigots then a performer has every right to protect herself from any equally PERCEIVED unacceptable risk
Unless you are implying that a worker must accept a risk he doesn't want to accept because there's people who get outraged if he doesn't
I remember an argument here , it beguns on twitter but arrived here too, it was a golden star lesbian asked to perform with transexuals , she refused because she only liked women , meaning she liked pussy of course.
The guy insisted TS are female and she was discriminating by refusing to perform with them , he said TS should perform in lez movies along with gay females with no discrimination because they were females and felt females.
There was no way to make him understand that the performers didn't like any dick, whoever carries it
As for Jessica Drake , well I am one of those who think that any performer has the right to work with whoever she like to, regardless of gender , preferences or race and nobody can be harassed and forced to do anything she won't do by herself through her own will.
So you can understand how in awe I am when someone who used such right to refuse to perform with black men for years until now as would seem, has the guts to attack someone else who is using exactly the same right she used for many years , furthermore August Ames did perform with black men and crossover performers in the past so that puts Jessica's words on the matter even more on hypocritical weirdland.
Most unfair on her part

Insulting comments about her external appearance were obviously not good for her self-esteem, but the accusations that made her out to be a bad person are on another level in terms of mental impact, IMO.
I don't know if any of her attackers are involved in LGBT activism, but they're definitely infected by the ideology. The sense of entitlement to attack her as "homophobic" for her personal choices of sex partner comes from the ever-encroaching boundaries of militant LBGT. They've been pushing this bullshit for a while now. See this youtube video, for example.
No point in starting another thread, that's basically all I have to say about it.

We would probably agree on how the LGBT community (or any progressive community for that matter) are becoming more and more militant in their views and approach. But many of those responding to August's tweet seemed to have concerns over stigmatisation of crossover performers in the industry, I don't think that is too ridiculous - it wasn't just a bunch of gay dudes screaming 'homophobe' and telling August she needed to suck gay cock. I have no doubt that happened, but painting that as the entire narrative de-legitimises genuine concerns.
Even Noelle Easton who was probably August's main defender accepted that August's initial tweet wasn't worded too well. Noelle also had a discussion with a gay performer under one of the tweets and accepted the stigmatisation existed and stated that she believed it was healthy when mainstream and gay performers talked about it.
As I mentioned in my previous post, mainstream performers have similar concerns with constant threats to their careers from proposed legislation that could cripple the industry. If anyone feels as though they are being stigmatised and that their career is being effected by it I would expect them to speak up - in this case I would expect crossover performers to respectfully challenge August's tweet. I agree that not every response was respectful, I agree that anyone who used terms like 'bigoted' and 'hateful' were of no use to anyone, and I also agree that those terms are becoming more and more common by people fighting for 'justice' and I believe it needs to be opposed.
In any case I'll move on from the subject.
Edited by - intelpremium on 12/9/2017 10:51:11 AM
@LCF I've expressed a lot of that in previous posts, I haven't got an avatar so it may not have been clear, sorry abut that. I don't think anything August said was homophobic and I understand what her issues were with testing.
On the flip side a crossover performer could view a tweet like that as stigmatising. There's a difference between saying "you must sleep with bisexual men" and saying "tweets like this promote the stigmatisation of sleeping with bisexual men".

As I suspected, this has nothing to do with your sadness about August's passing but an overtly pathetic way to shoehorn your a-historical gripe against LGBTQ issues. And there's quite literally no universe in which "long ago achieved all reasonable objectives" could be considered a reasonable point given that we're about 2 years removed from basic marriage equality being established law, and the litany of legal & social issues still being actively fought. But hey! Never miss an opportunity to exploit someone's personal tragedy by trying flame an entire group of people amirite??

There were LGBTQ people who disagreed with August's original tweet (in sober fashion), who then posted messages disapproving of further hateful tweets.
There are lessons to be learned from this tragedy. Lessons about cyberbullying, lessons about depression, lessons about homophobia. But one of those lessons is not that the LGBTQ movement has 'lost its way'. Even if that is true (which I don't believe that it is), this incident does not provide evidence for it, unless you've already made up your mind that the LGBTQ movement has lost its way, and then you see evidence in everything.

^ No one is claiming that the people who did horrible things are exempt.
The point is that the people who didn't do horrible things should not be lumped in with the ones who did. And especially not the ones who actively tried to get those doing horrible things to stop.
