It's just an evolution of the shooting team. In the beginning, they were a bit limited with time and scope, so they just had simple stories and agent provocateur underwear (which was rather expensive). A lot of members requested more stripping and situational setups. With a bigger budget and freedom to flex their creativity, the team could try these things (although Greg went a little overboard in the later years with full-on Basic Instinct homages). They wanted to make the porn look like movies.
They listen to feedback, so if you are a member, write in with some constructive criticism.

Ella Reese and Kenzie Madison also look sexy in their clothing. I didn't mind the Kenzie Madison scene and outifts like the one Ella Reese is wearing are okay by me, although I think they could go smaller, tighter and sexier like the Makenna Blue (2016) or Kendra Lust (2015) scenes. Dana Wolf looked good in that dress, no doubt; but she was still wearing it and hadn't exposed her boobs even once until 18 minutes into a 48 minute scene. Why?
The point of the comparisons above is to show how obviously the aesthetic of the site has changed, despite repeated denial. Scenes in the past were uniformly more sexualised and rarely saw the performers casually/fully clothed aside from the initial purpose of a flimsy plot.
The compilation of recent scenes shows that they are now uniformly more likely to be fully clothed up to the point of sex and beyond. Why did this change occur? And why can't we get more American scenes like the Skye Blue or Gianna Dior scenes last year, which were more reminiscent of the old style?

The situations haven't really changed, they've just become tedious and sexless. Take the recent Natalie Porkman scene. That situation, where she's caught stealing and offers to work things out some other way, would've been a great opportunity to show her sexily stripping off and seducing him. Instead, she's instantly sucking him off fully clothed and when it comes time to undress we get about 20 seconds in terrible close-up. And this is the routine for almost every American scene they release.
I think you've got things backwards. I think they now have less time and scope than they did before, because they've spread their resources too thin by launching all these additional sites. Most of the scenes are more functional than they ever were, e.g. a few simple shots of Ella Reese jogging and exchanging numbers with Jax, then jump immediately to them on a bed getting it on. A few simple shots of Dana Wolf applying perfume and sitting on a couch with Jax, then straight into the action. A few simple shots of Gabbie Carter & Skylar Vox sitting around talking and standing around making some free throws, then straight into the action. Cutting out the underwear/swimwear and tease aspect is just a way of cutting corners.
Compare these simple, no frills set-ups to the elaborate storylines that Kayden Kross gets to indulge in just shooting for one site, or how indulgent every glorious frame of a Eurobabe frolicing in the surf or emerging from a pool in Julia Grandi's Euro scenes is. It's pretty clear who has the time and scope to produce the highest quality content they can, and who is pumping out cookie cutter scenes with little effort being made to extract every ounce of sex appeal available from the actresses and scenarios.

Relly enjoyed Naomi Swann's scene. People will be happy to see that she was fully naked when they got to the bed part.
I think it's better to start the scenes with women in their underwear getting dressed, then start the kissing fully clothed, have the guy undress them during foreplay and finally have sex completely naked. Although in some scenes, starting the sex with a few clothes on can be hot (as long as they remove everything before 2/3 of the video).
Next scene looks like Avery Christy and Freddy gong. Avery started following Freddy on twitter few weeks back and her vixen scene shows that she was in Europe recently for VMG & Freddy shoots in Europe only..

Interestingly, Ariana's latest Blacked scene (which is where this image is from) has a couple of seconds of anal at most and there is no DP action anywhere. I wonder if the original plan while doing the photoshoot was it to be a DP scene and then plans got scrapped for whatever reason?

They promoted action that doesn't appear in the scene or gallery and then publish pics in the gallery for action not appearing in the promotion or scene.
But the lighting was good, so we shouldn't complain.
Cutting out something like a stripping scene, or re-editing before it goes online is one thing, but cutting out anal or even DP action is a whole different story. Pretty sure the actresses ask way more for either of these than for the regular actions. Wonder what might be the reason behind this, was Ariana uncomfortable with the anal/DP and stepped back?

I think you just have selective memory on this point. Go back and watch some of the scenes from mid 2014, many of them the girls are dressed as schoolgirls/preppy and not revealing at all.

Sure, in 2014, the year the site launched, some of the very early scenes featured women in unrevealing clothing (e.g. Scarlet Red, Natasha White, Emily Kae). However, they also very quickly (literally like 15-20 scenes after launch) moved to a style that saw the performers scantily clad and stuck with it for the next 3-4 years.
As I've previously mentioned, some of the very early scenes featured a tease and interview section instead of a storyline. But if for the next two years from now, they suddenly dropped the storylines and almost every scene featured an interview intro instead, everyone would recognise that it's gaslighting to insist that "it's always been this way" based on the handful of similar scenes in the very early days, ignoring the hundreds of plot based scenes inbetween.

I really enjoyed the Avery Cristy scene. They could've cut to the chase a bit sooner, but we got some nice shots of Avery in bikinis to keep the interest going. It's an instant skip anyways so unless they decide to use him twice in a row I figure the odds are next week's scene might be watchable.
Pressure is in 5 of the last 8 updates. and he is also featured heavily on Blacked raw. They havent been filming because of the COVID19 bs.
